thank you very much .... just broke my upper ball joint yesterday ..... good thing it happed as I was pulling in front of the house ... now I know what has to be done and also it gives me an idea on how to stabilize the suspension to be loaded onto a car hauler ...
When I did mine on my '01 Crown Vic, I made the marks on the adjustment washers right where they meet. They were close enough that the alignment was right on and didn't need any adjustment.
Thank u so much for the video and explaining everything in detail. I’ll be doing my 2000 grand marquis here soon and I’ll be watching this video and doing it as u do lol
Lucky you. Did studs on right side of car and right upper ball joint yesterday when the guy called, I went on site to fix it (mobile). He's bringing it over today so I can do drivers side upper ball joint, idler arm and drag link.
Nice to see your videos again, I did this same job on my 01 Town Car, total manual labor lol. My 2006 Town Car has a more robust front end, and the ball joints can't be replaced, only the control arms, kinda sux
He's back in the saddle again! Nice to see you again on YT. Hope you enjoyed your hiatus and are inspired to show us new interesting things. Hope the '69 Gal is coming along okay.
It was a nice vacation, had to take care of some things in my personal life but it feels good to be back. Don't worry I'll fill you in on the 69 Galaxie.
your supposed to torque these bolts.. 90 ft. lbs for side bolt pin, and 118 ft.lbs. I believe it is for cams. But I suppose if you don't own a toque wrench just use brawn!!
Hey I was wondering, what size pipe did you have on the 81 Lincoln when it had the 302 and what thrush glass packs too cause I have a 90 ltd crown Vic that is gonna need a new exhaust by springtime as the salt here in New England has rusted out the muffler, and some of the piping looks like it might be on its way out to. I know I might be able to find the thrush at an affordable price for me cause I'm still in high school and will have to save up for awhile regardless for an exhaust. Thanks man love the videos!
Thanks man. I had a 2 inch exhaust on it and I used the basic thrush glass packs. They are just a straight though muffler powder coated red. I got mine at auto zone for $20. Depending on where you go you can get the exhaust done relatively cheap. I got the exhaust done on my 69 Galaxie (entire system) for $400 and around here, that is a really good deal.
Zephmont thanks for the help man I really appreciate it. It's my project to keep the car one the road and in good shape I found out in my state it's one of 70 left on the road and the rest of them have been crushed not even the junkyards in my area kept them around. I've been watching a lot of your videos for awhile and it's been a big help keeping it on the road.

Okay... that's cool. No ultra rush, just glad to see you back.
Welcome Back!!
Thanks!
YOUR BACK
Great vid!! Thanks
The bolt you hammer out is very difficult. I wedged a bar against it so it would not move as much on every blow to the bolt. Good luck.
Nice now I’ll know what to do thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks man!
Didn’t need to take the brakes off
the shortcuts that engineers take not installing a greasable joint to start with.
sweet, time to do mine
I replaced my lowers and uppers are next will it have to be aligned again?

Thank you for that info!
I'm about to work on my Lincoln's Upper Ball Joint.
0:)
Todd Gilmore does it really matter if you torque it or not
Use a German torque wrench....guttentight
@@michaelreece458 WONDERBAR..YA

@@zephmontMy fucking God your videos suck, you don't even have the slightest clue of what you're doing.
Wish I can see from the top so I can see your mark I know it don’t have a gap on it
God forbid if Ford spent $0.09 on grease fittings.
did u get a other crown vic???
Nope, still have the Grand Marquis
Where the hell ya been?
Entered a new chapter in my life. I'll fill you in later.
Do the uppers seem to be the more common problem compared to the lowers? Were you control arm bushings on either side doing okay?
Lower is common
what brand they are?
Certified which is a cheap brand store brand here in Canada and the cost was $40 a piece. I priced out the Moog one but they are $140 a piece.
I think you meant 460 cubic
He did not torque it in it has to be torque top bolts at 118 pounds in the bottom one at 90 pounds
nightrider 2000 does it matter and why
idiots at the alignment shop left my camber bolts loose on my Lincoln
Those idiots. Hope they gave you some compensation for that.
They need a brain alignment after their nuts are torqued up...
Don’t hammer metal to metal! Use a piece of wood or a brass hammer!!
