Hey Dr Brian...I just wanna appreciate your channel....when u explained how Bam's injury could be because of a string of mild injuries he's been having since The Boston Series...it clicked because I've been watching.... so I appreciate the work you are doing.
Foot tightness is extremely common, and can be related to a multitude of things. A torn plantar fascia is almost always exclusive to excessive strain, so unless you are an athlete, labor worker, or have another underlying condition, the odds of you experiencing this injury is relatively low. Proper stretching, wearing shoes with proper arch support, and maintaining a healthy BMI should be sufficient in your case. Also, keep in mind that foot tightness and cramps are sometimes attributed to a lack of hydration. Making sure to drink enough water can help prevent this.
You should also consider some other things like do you have flat foot, when does the pain occur? Stretching exercises and massages should do the trick to relieve the pain.
There are two things that you need to do. The first step is doing some basic stretching. Don’t just stretch the lower leg. Stretch the entire chain thoroughly. It’s all connected. Second thing u need to do is eccentric strengthening exercises for ur foot. These exercises strengthen ur muscles while stretching them so that ur feet don’t get even more tight while u build up the strength so that ur feet can support themselves properly, preventing future tightness
I had plantar fasciitis in my right foot and achilles tendinitis in both feet. Have someone evaluate u for potential muscle imbalances in ur legs. It’s likely that u have some of that going on. Glutes, hip adductors and extensors, the quads, hamstrings, the lower back, the different parts of the calves, and feet all need to be checked in that way.
You were spot on about Bam's shoulder the other day. And I knew it right away as well. I had similar injuries before, kept playing, eventually I developed habitual shoulder dislocation. I felt scared knowing dislocation could happen anytime on the court. When it did happen, it usually took me 2 to 4 weeks to recover and feel ok. I went for surgery 10 years ago. The surgery went well. But the fear of dislocation is always with me.I think BAM should not play any more games in the final for the long run. For him, the risk is much higher as a center.
I agree. As a new subscriber, I imagine the doc's team captures the injury on video. At the same time, he changes the shirt on the skeleton, changes his flannel shirt, add expert commentary, edit the video, and upload. Good Stuff!

Thanks for making this video Dr. Sutterer. Nice to learn about Dragic’s injury too as that’s also new information to me. Wish them both a speedy (as can be) easeful recovery. Being someone with chronic pain/injuries in both my shoulders this doesn’t surprise me at all. I have “rotator cuff disease” which is what one of my doctors used as an overarching term to signify I have tendinopathy in both of my infraspinatus rotator muscles and a low grade partial inferior (or maybe it’s called anterior, not sure; it’s the underneath side) tear on my supraspinatus for the one shoulder. It definitely effects my quality of life and I need to be careful not to bump into things with my arm/hand/shoulder or it goes straight up to my rotator cuff muscles. The bracing of weight in the hands is so real for folks with rotator cuff injuries from my experience. Mine started as a sports injury and it’s a humbling rehabilitation process.
Who knows man lakers have it easy now whos going to stop them. Mightest well call it a series n hand them the easiest trophy they will ever win. I dnt think is even worth nothing now more like there half of champs.
