Wear empty barrel on back and be cleric with create water spell. Or Undead warlock 6 lv feature (no need to breathe) or artificer with special water armor.
I've got a maul wielding ranger Tortle. He's very self conscious about his bald head so he wears a wig and whenever he changes his name he changes his wig too.
Is Ted a squid now, or is he a kid now?

For the locathah, id say make em a artificer and maybe construct a suit filled with water, or go into the nearby blacksmith maybe dwarven blacksmith and have it custom made. Very vulnerable but negates the biggest downside of it. Then you just have free benefits until your suit gets broken or maybe you need to replace the water after a few days.
I love how Ted keeps wearing the squid. That is commitment!
If he wore it while doing tricks on a literbike motorcycle he could be a "squid squidding on a squidmissle in a squid hat"...

Best thing about being a Tortle, when the Paladin, strength-based Fighter, Barbarian or Heavy Armor Proficient Cleric are low on HP, and the Circle of the Moon Druid is out of Wild Shapes, and low on HP, a Tortle of any class can come up, and act as an Emergency Tank, due to their 17 AC.
My best friend made a Tortle Monk, and as I'm sure you've guessed, he's got 3 brothers who are also monks, and they joined their monastery at an early age; as teenagers, one might say. They trained hard and left the monastery to do good in the world and fight the forces of evil, traveling together in their own little band, and what's more, their names are:
Paul, John, George, and Ringo.

I think a Tortle Barbarian would be really cool as a Storm Herald. Imagine a desert tortoise-looking fellow with the power of the desert itself.
I play a death domain cleric tortle. The high Ac makes up for the domain's lack of heavy armor profiency.
Right now I'm playing a Barbarian tortle named Pablo. This is my first D&D character and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
My Tortle was a Paladin multiclassed with a Moon Druid, something made much easier by the Strength and Wisdom bump for reaching those minimum required stats. Smite and Bite is an incredibly fun thing to do, especially with the errata that lets you burn Druid spell slots for smites, so I reccomend Paladin 2/Druid 18 highly for Tortle. Their Armor Class also helps a lot when you don't have any Wildshapes left.
Dragonborn also have stas in the right place for that particular build, with a boost to strength and Charisma.
I've managed to make a half elf artificer that's basically Keira Hagai from Jack and Daxter she's currently making all the party's guns and vehicles
Currently playing a Tortle Wizard. That high AC and shell make a squishy wizard not so squishy.
I think Nerdarchy also mention if you take the War Caster Feat then he can just shell up with a concentration spell and be unaffected.

As well Tortle Wizards can have their end goal be learning the Clone spell so they can beat their short lifespan.
And it can be their "lifelong" obsession.
I just got invited to a campaign taking place in hell, and I want to play a Locathah. Ultra-Nightmare mode activated.
The squid hat oddly frames your face really well. You should remove its eyes and have it embroidered with fancy designs.

The tortle that I was gonna use but is now a back up character is a Sun Soul Monk with a golden yellow/green shell and skin and growths coming out of his shell that stick out over his shoulders that he fires his Radiant Sun Bolts from. Basically I made a solar powered Blastoise with rapid fire solar beams.
A friend in our campaign was a Tortle Druid. I’ve wanted to play a Tortle Monk for a while now.

Playing a tortle druid circle of the moon. He is a lot of fun and a boat load of hit points so he is a tank for the team.
Avoids that annoying no metal armor restriction a bit too
Mustang peppercorn. Tortle lore bard/sorcerer. Smallest of 12 one of the most talented sons of the kings cobbler. Currently in search of his long lost family heirloom the instrument of the peppercorns. This legendary acoustic lute,Jenny, pastdown through generations of peppercorns has the numbers 8675309 burned onto the fret board.

I played a Tortle for a bit, went dragon sorcerer for him. claimed the heritage was with a dragon turtle with the theming. You get your armored bulk to help as you lob spells.

recently made a barbarian druid and loving it. being my first ever dnd char im kinda surprised cause im not really a magic playing person but i seem to use quite a bit of it during my sessions
It’s not 4 hours a day. It’s once every 4 hours.
Yeah, if it was 4 Hours/Day then that would be more viable because of Create & Destroy Water as well as Create Food & Water. But every 4 hours, would be challenging if not in an Aquatic themed Campaign, or if it isn't otherwise Homebrewed/House-Ruled to be 4 Hours/Day.
I made a Monk Tortle that goes for the way of the open hand, but I take the grappler feat and I'm like this sticky CC tank.
I am playing a tortle barbarian right now. First time I am not playing a caster so figured I might as well go all in.

As I look at the various classes/subclasses, as well as their requirements, to say nothing about the various races/subraces and their stat bonuses, I have come to this conclusion - any race can play any class, although some pull them off better.

Playing a Tortle Druid/Ranger. Named Aye’Ton (an eyeful to look at and weighs a ton). He tanks more hits than the V.Human Paladin/Sorcerer and Dwarf Fighter/Cleric, and is about as versatile or moreso than our Drow Wizard/Warlock is proving to be in many fights.
Im gonna try to build a tortle sorcerer. Im gonna play him like a fighter for the first few sessions before revealing my magical powers to the group. Should be fun as long as the dm doesn't spoil my class

I’ve dabbled in turtle race before. Their amazing as monks and barbarians. I’m doing a homebrew with a feat I found where I get rage, feral instinct, then relentless rage when I can grab feats later. I’m using this on a monk class, the new dragon subclass. Got high constitution, wisdom and strength lol

I'm playing on artificer tortle that relies on bombs to kamikaze onto enemies and ignore any of their huts with shield
You skipped over the fact that tortles do go prone when they retreat into their shells so melee enemies have advantage to hit your 21 AC and you will probably get hit by fireballs with disadvantage on dex, but effects that have a con or str save you have advantage on. So you have to think a little bit about if it is a good idea to withdraw into your shell or not. Really good though if archers are peppering you're tortle wizard and you are waiting for the rest of the party to clear them out.
Playing a Tortle Bard using College of Sword. My intelligence is 7! I have a Guitar that is also a battleaxe. There are 3 other Bards as well...we have yet to fight anything lmao

I'm building a Blastoise.
Currently making an end game bbeg actually out of Tortle. The idea is he has taken the adventurous helpful nature of tortles too far wanting to help everyone and see everything there is to see eventually pushing him to find ways to extend his short life and even altar himself and his potential future descendants to become even better at “helping”.
"Wigwum" monk tortle! Had a.c of 25 at level one wisdom was 20, DeX was 12, strength 16, con 14, int 10, car 11. Way of the astral soul. Straight beast!
At level ten he has 26 ac no bluffs, a movement speed of a 100 ft per round! And can do a massive amount of damage!
Seems a bit off. You don't add dex or wisdom to the tortle ac.

@@Nerdarchy I'm using 5 e app and that's what I got!. Why not add wisdom, I know it doesn't get DeX but why not wisdom??
@@marcanthony3167 In 5e, AC calculations don't stack. If you have Armor, Natural Armor, or Unarmored Defense, you have to pick one of the calculations
Question for you all. Does the natural armor stack with unarmored defense?
I made a Locathah Drunken Master Monk named Mundi Brass
She’s basically Ariel but instead of obsessing over humans and human items she obsesses over martial arts. She thought when she saw people practice martial arts that they were really cool, so she learned to walk on land just so she could train, she would die if she spent too much time there by lack of water and being a fish she was very different than the other students but she had money so she was let in.

i ended up with barb tortle, and we allowed this weird funny scenario for the sake of not all completley dying of being able to shell defense and prone while grappling something and attack them at the same time. so the Scene ends up being: a High strength barb tortle pirate, grabbing a mutant 2x2 tile humanoid shark with one hand/beak, then retracting like a winch back into his shell going prone and subsequent turns using a trident in the other hand to stab the giant sharkoid LOL it's a scary scenario like this thing half the size of you has somehow grabbed you and is pulling you into his tiny shell with unimaginable strength and for the life of you, you are finding it impossible to break free haha, about to get squeezed into this tiny shell hole.

Those Tortle still sporting the red blood of their roots yet have not transcended make for the bottom, middle & top of the ranks & file.
The 👣 have invaded & infested all realms there could be. That is to say that they have the resources of any season....not all worlds.

Awesome video. But What I've read says they reach adulthood at 15 are fully mature at 40, and have a average lifespan of 50 but can reach 365 years of age

I always found that weird though. Most turtles can live to be over 100 years and its a common troupe to have the wise old turtle.
