I drove a 2015 VW Jetta for 3 years full time doing rideshare and have put thousands into repairs (timing chains, transmission overheating issues, crazy idling, AC Compressor, secondary air injection system, burns oil like crazy, blower motor resistor) among others. Can't even keep track of everything I've had fixed. Hopefully the Touareg holds up better than the Jetta.
I just bought one two months ago. I ❤️ it but after a while I started to notice how firm the ride is. The biggest maintenance are the limited tire sizes and suspension maintenance. The average alignment cost is $500. Grab a vagcom and you can add so many features to the vehicle. My favorite is changing the code for the stock radio. Hell of a difference now.
I had a 2007 V6 Lux, (or whatever called back the then) drove that for 2 yrs back in 2011-13 or 14 loved it, drove it to Aspen multiple winters decent motor even mountain driving, only thing besides the standard maintenance (oil, filters and wipers, pricey) was I had to replace one HID head light, fixed both, (because might as well) $$. The dealer offered me a good trade in value for a used 2011 Diesel so I did then the recall. All in all it can be pretty pricey to maintain, but it’s a GREAT suv all around, if you take care of it, older ones not so much. Double check records if there are any, and be sure if you haven’t already to have it inspected. Team Touareg, wish they would bring them back to the US!

This was my first car, bought it in 2018 for 13k with 64.5k miles. It died on me a month ago at 149k miles and needed a new engine which would have been 13k (including labor). I miss it 💔

definite money pit that thing will wind up costing more money than it's worth by the time it's done and those gas mileage numbers there are a lot choices such as anything Toyota or Honda for rideshare
Michael Jurgielski should’ve gotten CRV. I drive Prius, Fit, CRV for Uber and Lyft. And HONDA CRZ for Ubereats. Been driving since Dec. 2013. Have only put brakes and tires, oil changes and windshield wipers. He better not let a popsicle melt in that pretty thing or the entire electrical system will go haywire. Windows will stop rolling down, windshield wipes will just come on for no reason. He should immediately buy a wrecked one for parts!
@@guillermosanchez3389 those are rain sensors, automatic wipers 😂 even German cars in 2002 had them and people panicked called it a curse but it was literally the auto wipers sensor.
