Never understood why VW won't call this engine what it is....a VR6 engine. They are still using this engine in the new Atlas. VW's VR6 and 5 Cylinder engines are the most bullet proof engines they have ever made. I hope they come back with a new and improved 5 cylinder at some point.
I know this is an ancient RUclips video, but some might be checking these out for used purchases. You really did the TDI (turbo-diesel) an injustice by stating only it's horsepower of 240. It's the 400+ torque that really matters. Good grunt off the line; good mileage; and 7700lb towing capacity. The reasons I picked it over the VR6.
About to buy a used (from a neighbor we know well and is very nit picky) 2016 Touareg V6 Lux with the beautiful sky blue. Will add chrome / aluminum covers for the mirrors and trim in the back lift as well as door handles.
Ohhh we don’t have 87 or 89 here. Never had. But been told by friends living in US that the 97s here are similar to a 92 on some other parts of the world. Never knew that

Seriously I love my rabbit and just bought an 06 touareg… didn’t realize the V6 wasn’t actually a V and I had a VR6 under the hood!

Great vehicule a lot of torque and pretty comfy on the road
How reliable was this generation Touareg? I have a tiguan and was looking for something bigger, but don't like the atlas
I still have my gen 2 Touareg (8 speed tiptronic) I’ll say very, very reliable. Overbuilt, over engineered. Had it since 2011 and no plans to sell it

You can get a used Audi for same price as used Touareg.
Does it have a vr6 ?
Does the VR6 require premium gas? That wouldn't be ideal
Anything above 98 would do.

That's a third generation, the T2 was produced from 2008 to the first half of 2010
The T2 was just a facelift, same car underneath.
