    Thank you so very much for this, my psychiatrist and I are discussing this diagnosis. I had no idea what it was but learning about it was unbelievably relatable. I don’t mean that in a good way, it felt sickening but also id. I sent my whole life written with guilt feeling like I was going to hurt the people around me, when people are suffering or hurt around me and makes me feel like it’s my responsibility and I must do everything in my power to help them at that second. I can do all these things for other people while absolutely neglecting myself.

    Thank you Nick for pointing it out! I've never thought about it that way, I always thought that rejection=rejection from others but rarely thought about self rejection. I think i have some work to do on that!

    I agree that this is one of your best. The urges are so so hard to get under. And it is because you feel like you cannot accept yourself. Thank you so much for addressing this topic.
    And also thank you in general for making these videos. I'm not only dealing with OCD at this time but a lot of family stress as well. Everytime I feel like I can't do it I can hear your words "you think you can't but you actually can."

    I´ve found quite a useful trick myself. When in therapy I avoid mentioning the acronym OCD and instead I say XX. This way I take significance off the disease (it is NOT denial) To some extent it works ... believe it or not.

    • @aguywhohikes1271
      @aguywhohikes1271 11 месяцев назад

      Hey Max - I can see how that may work temporarily but it usually instills fear in other ways, fear of fear regarding the name of the disorder.

      @@aguywhohikes1271 Thanks, I suppose that happens to others, but it is not my case ... At least I can find disorder name at internet haha

    Do you think that questions such as “who am i” can tie into existential ocd as well?

    • @aguywhohikes1271
      @aguywhohikes1271 11 месяцев назад

      Absolutely Gabrielius! Because it's a question we can never have an answer to as the self is always changing.

    Any way to cope with mild burnout? Im 14 and i have school in one month. Should i wear emotional exhaustion as an uncomfortable coat.

      Yes, don’t get too caught up on the term “Burnout” you are much better at handling things than you think. You can wear anxiety and stress like an uncomfortable coat.
