I have made these for two coworkers using flannel and terry and both moms have approved! The woman putting all of our gifts together for presentation is due with her second child. That night her husband saw my dozen burp cloths and wanted to keep a couple! (No, she didn’t let him, lol). She has now received hers and has also asked me to make some for her sister. Those are halfway complete as I write in November 2021. A third coworker has just begun her pregnancy so I will keep going with this great pattern. Thanks Laura! -Alex in PA
I bought fabric and made 5 of your burb cloths using just flannelette for my neighbour. Great success - she was thrilled. Could be all the rage for new mums in my part of Melbourne, Australia. Best design ever. Thank you
wow thanks :) and thanks for watching:)
I love that idea of pinning the inside & outside of these and cutting the pieces together. What a time saver! I love to sew but I always hate the cutting and prep work. This really simplifies that process.
You are the perfect teacher! I recommend your videos to my friends and family. Your calming voice is just what a person needs to hear when learning something new or just troubleshooting their directions.
thank you very much! that is nice to know :)
This Burp cloth is the best one of have seen, the shoulder covers you so the baby doesn't
accidentally mess your clothes!!! I will definitely use this pattern!
Thanks
maryanne
thanks
I made some for my first grandson a few years ago - daughter-in-law said they were the BEST!!! She loved them! Now #2 is on the way - ready to sew some more! Don't know if double gauze was available back then, but now it is - should make them even better :-) !
Laura, I've just made a number of these (again). Your design is the best and a great way to use up leftover fabric from other projects. Lucky for me there are lots of babies coming in my family and this is the perfect gift to send in the mail for the expectant moms. Thanks again.
Hi Laura, Adorable! Another super cute project! Love how you make use of all of the fabric- you even use the cut out piece. Great instructions and you make it look so easy, too. Thanks!
thanks, it is always fun sewing with your fabric:)
I love your videos and you are one of very few people I subscribe to but this was not so very easy. LOL. I bought Shannon fabrics and they didn't line up (at least after a wash) so I had lots of extra Terry cloth. Both fabrics are a PITA to work with. I suggest doing this with flannel! If anyone reading this decides to do it with this material I would suggest sewing on either side of your line BEFORE you cut. Because when you cut, even though you pin it, the gauze fabric does not stay put on the edge.
thanks for the good tip:) :)
@@SewVeryEasyhow do I find the pdf ?
Thank you for sharing. Am a newbie sewing and had only seen burp cloths made from diapers and decorated. I love the pattern you shared. Going to give it a try. A couple of friend are expecting soon. Thank you.
Such a great and easy project! I love the zero-waste aspect as well. Kudos, Laura!
If I don't use it all then I have to find other projects:)
Laura I made some of these for a friend of mine granddaughter shower, i use a water repellent in between the 2 fabrics I use a Terry cloth and a printed flannel. They were gorgeous and so simply, i use my serger.
that is a great idea! thanks for sharing
What does the water repellent do? Isnt the idea for it to absorb what the baby spits? Am a newbie. Thank you.
Juliana Ramirez the repellent fabric layer prevents any wetness penetrating completely through to the side against your body.
Love the idea with the shoulder protector. I made some of these last year but they didn't have the shoulder piece and have to say these are so much better
thanks
So clever! I came looking for the fabric you used and found a super pattern. Just cut it out. Now to get to the store for some fabric to make for expected Great grandbaby!
Thanks girl. My mil got a new bird and I’m trying to think of useful gifts for her. This helps!
Love the way you teach! So clear and concise. Thank you so much for this tutorial! 💕

Thank you for your free burp rag pattern.
Hello I love this I now have 3 newborns to make this for but the PDF is unavailable.. Love your tutorial.
Best one I've seen yet - ingenious!
I am excited to make these for our upcoming grand baby. Did you use a serger or a zig-zag stitch on your regular machine to join the pieces together. Thank you in advance and for all the wonderful ideas you share!
I did use the serger
Thank you for this video. It'll be so easy and no waist is great.
Can't wait to try to make some .
Love it!! Simple but very practical!! Peace and blessings.
thanks
Hi Laura~My 5th grandbaby is due in July! I have a question. What oz of terry to you recommend from ShannonFabrics for these cloths? I see they offer 10, 13, 15, 19 and 21 ounce. Thank you for this video.
The smaller the number the lighter the cloth. For burp cloths it can be any weight as you don't need them too heavy.
Brilliant idea and great tutorial, thanks Laura.....
thanks
Great, adorable project. Thank you Laura
you’re professional 👍🏻
What a nice idea! Thank you for a great tutorial! Christine
i am going to make these but in stead of using terry cloth i will be using a waterproof bed sheet,
great for a baby shower gift
Great idea Laura! Looks easy enough I think I could actually make these lol :) Thanks
yes I'm sure you could:)
Neat and so easy to make. Thank you Laura.
thanks
How much yard of fabric have you taken for double gauze? Because I see double gauze only has 48” in width but terry cloth is 60 inches
Thanks as always!
I'm not having any luck finding the fabrics in 60" widths, as you mentioned....? Would have to settle for 45" widths, which would make 6 cloths.
45"works out to:) have fun!
Thank you. These will be good for me to practice on
have fun:)
I love this! Thank you!! 🥰
Hey Laura......would it be alright to use Flannel instead of Terry cloth?
Yes but be sure to wash it first:)
Gr8 tutorial...you r indeed a gud teacher...
thanks
Is your burp cloth pattern still available? When I click on your link in the description nothing populates and when I try to open it up in a new link you get an oops error message. Thanks

love your tutorials.
thanks
I love these, that should piece is great!!!
thanks
I want to use a sharpie but Will the sharpie stain the fabric.
you can use it, because it is the cutting line, it will not be seen:)
Great video! Thanks!
Love this! Thank you for sharing ,
thanks
Can I use diapers that are not prefolded?
yes as most as made out of flannel:)
I hate to be the ignorant one here but... what ever happened to cloth diapers? I used to use those as burp cloths. Anyway, I don't have that much time/energy, so I'd rather stick to the sewing baby blankets projects. One more thought, I would cover the blouse or shirt collar too.
Grazie Laura!!! Molto utile!!!! ♥
thanks
Brilliant!!!!
