Man, I almost destroyed my headliner trying to remove it from my 244, the fact that you were able to remove it from that 242 with very little damage to it is amazing. Of course the other side of it is that I have no idea what I am doing most of the time and just make it up as I go along.
We have slow but steady growth and a really great group of subscribers. I don’t aim for clickbait or gimmicky videos. That leaves the internet with us and our old quirky cars!! Good news is that keeps only the best subscribers coming to the channel. Have a great day!
Pre-1980 C pillar covers work in the 1980-84 242s, btw. Have a pair of 242GT covers in my '82. Some from a 242DL or a 142 will work fine as well. Just shoot them with either the Duplicolor or SEM vinyl paint, then install them in place of the exploded tan plastic pieces.
definitely the ”long” rear light. Turbo and GLT 244s in Sweden has black instead of chrome on them. I used to modify them so all three lights was lit and had breaklight to. 5/21watt lamps.
Dean, need to show us the inside of the new parts shed full of Volvo and other goodies. Hopefully, the code enforcement folks are leaving you alone for a while. Would like to see you finish up the 242 Turbo, been a while since we've seen it in the garage 😀
Currently I'm working on getting parts into projects that have been waiting to go in. This way I don't have to put the in the shed LOL. I am also waiting on shelving. Soon though, soon...
Know the feeling, my garage and yard shed are so full of stuff I wouldn't have the courage to show anyone! Really enjoy your channel, look forward to it every weekend you can post new content.
I’m in control of my life …. I think, LOL. Sorry I’m a late watcher dean life’s been busy, but your thing will be on the way tomorrow! Great video as always
You take your time and watch whenever convenient! I just appreciate you coming back and enjoying the show!!! You are part of the reason it happens anyway. LOL!
Daylight savings time is the worst. Glad to see that headliner cleaned. Mine was in similar condition🤮. Looking forward to the rust repair vids. Share my misery Dean 😂 Great video✌️
No problem dying interiors, the problem is using parts store "paint" it pays down too thick and leaves fabrics crunchy, not sure about longevity. The correct product is Color Coat by SEM. Goes on ridiculously thin, doesn't make fabrics hard and holds up like a champ. Properly applied you couldn't tell its not oem.
I dont know If there is that kind of interior colour here in sweden. As in swedish model of 240 that year. Cool video as allways
I hope more folks will chime in. It may only be an early model color!
I have a door card to pull. it is always nice to see someone do it first.
They are very easy to do. If its an older 240 itll be mostly phillips.
Absolutely nothing wrong with spraying the panels as you did Dean
Look brilliant 👌🏼
Thanks Phil! Someday I would like to spend some coin and have a nice interior custom made. For now its this!!
@DeanofMachines what's the cost on that??

It’s easy to do. Even mine was a bit crumbly. 40 years of life will do that I suppose
Black interior looks good Dean.
Thank you kindly!! I was hoping for a good end result.
I watched for the interior color change, (which looks great btw), but wanted more 122... Love that thing Dean!!!
I feel the same way!! Everytime I work on anything, I just want to go drive the 122.
Looking good! Love the black interior!
Thanks man! I was unsure at first but now I am liking it!
I’ve never owned a Volvo, but I’ve driven several. My weird favorite thing is the 80’s key in the ignition door ping
It’s even better when people make it play Toto’s “Africa”
Cool, coming along really nice and looking good, interior work always a good idea, after all that is were you spend most of your time in the end!
Thats the idea isn’t it!? Building cool cars to enjoy them!?
Idk how you're under 11k ....... mind blowing. Great video as usual. Keep up the great content

Nice one Dean!
If the backseat start fading you could always put on black seat covers, there are some pretty good ones out there in cover land😉
Thats a good idea. Also, recently I found a source for seat fabric! Just have to strip the old seats and reinstall
Headliner turned out pretty good had 2 qoutes for my 740 GLE $800- $1,600!
Yeah no thanks!! Thats a lotta money.
Hade a 1975 with b20, 242l with no clock, in the mid 80 s, love too drive it
That sounds like a great little car!
Love that green machine
Its a great looking car!!
Lookin' slick!
I can’t agree more!!! I really love this look.

That's a good bit of info! I'll look around to see what I can dig up. Thank you!

@ I appreciate that my friend! I really enjoy sharing my wrenching time. No matter what happens!

@ I’ll always be here dude!!
@ you better be!! Or else!!!😅
Black is cool 😎👍
I think it's waayyy better than TAN. Tan/white/silver interiors get dirty waayyy too fast.
Daylight savings time is the worst. Glad to see that headliner cleaned. Mine was in similar condition🤮. Looking forward to the rust repair vids. Share my misery Dean 😂 Great video✌️
If youve noticed, I do everything I can to avoid body work lol
Great vid as always!
Thank you!!
I thought the headliner would just be a soft vinyl with aluminum spanner bars, luckily my 245 was easy.
The 245 headliner is fabric hung by bars. Makes it real easy!!

@@BushidoDriver I might have to give that a shot some day! You aren’t the first to suggest SEM
That spray paint may start to flake off when people are using the seats. It could also come off when people are rubbing in it but idk
Good news is its HIGHLY UNLIKELY anyone will ever be in the back seat of my 242 LOL
@ hahahaha
I have re-dyed seats before, and the dye never came off or rubbed off.
Was it careful editing or has someone abducted the Lawn Care Enthusiasts? I did not hear the background racket....
Careful editing LOL they were out and about. A few clips i just spoke loud and fast. I know some folks don’t like when I point them out.
Do you need to seal that paint to stop it rubbing off onto people's clothes?
When I've used that stuff, I've not needed too, I've had my seats vinyl painted for 3 yrs, leather and I've had no issues.
I will say PREP IS KEY.
Im not sure yet! Maybe a few subscribers will chime in.
1st view!
You lucky sonofagun!!
your videos are going down hill no lawn care
I feel ya man! Things are slipping!
