Probably 150 ISH hours of work condensed into two and a half hours! I'm very glad to have this thing back home with me ❤ hoping to have it finished before Christmas 🎁
Ben. Congrats on getting it back! You started this episode more seriously than usual. Shows how much it means to you and we’re all totally behind you mate. Top stuff
Hello from Virginia in the USA. Love your channel and absolutely love those simple Japanese vans. Can't wait to see the finished product. You are a great personality on youtube. Some people are just born to tell the stories of their cars and you are spot on with your charisma and folksiness. Keep up the great work and save that van!
I never want these videos to end. You have done a wonderful job getting this van back in shape. The HAS BOOK number plate might be worth something too!
Just gave me a weird memory flashback. I was driving in our firms Rascal with a young lad as passenger, who gleefully shouted ''that was Dizzie Rascal'' As he pointed out the window... We were in Chiswick in 2003? I'd never heard of Dizzie Rascal... But it obviously stuck in my mind... Your wife is obviously more up to date than me. (Is she an 80s girl like the lad?)
Another great one. Really nice to see this Twinkie getting a needed redo. From earlier vids - I thought this van was done for. You have become my favorite car rescue channel. And I watch a few. Glad you tube is working out for you
Another faultless video Ben and if I’m honest it’s one of the best to date and I’ve literally sat glued, I haven’t left the seat till just now. Can’t wait to see what you have in store next.

This van was the first video of yours I ever watched, I’m tearing up 😢
In the good old days I delivered yellow pages to houses around heckmondwike. And I used my rascal to carry them. All 846 of them. I also towed a 2 berth caravan with it! It looked a bit like le shuttle from the front!!
Good to see the TastyRascal back, used to drive one for a wee builders I worked for in the early 90s Always thought it was going to fall over going round corners
Ben what’s an amazing job you’ve done with restoring that little van I’m glad to see you put your safety squints to one side and now you’re using a proper safety visor to protect your eyes from the sparks! Great video can’t wait to see the finished product!
Good to see the little Rascall is back! Hopefully it will do well for the channel again so you can buy a project that doesn't need to be swept into the workshop with a brush! I always talk to my cars, it feels like they respond to being treated nicely. They always end up with a name too. I think with it's reg the little van should be known as the captain!
Hi Ben , hope your and your mum is doing well , just a little tip for you , when you were welding next to the eye link - towing hook , that space you were trying to fill , if you used a metal coat hanger and weld it into the crack bit you want to weld , really dus make it easier to fill in bits like that , great video again , can’t wait to see you finish this , going to be a cool little van for you to run about in , love from Scotland ❤️🏴
Welcome home you little Rascal. Ben, looking forward to the next several videos because I fell for this van when the video originally came out. Was gutted to have seen it go. Now, over the moon at the return of The Little Rascal! Just brilliant! 👍😁
What a lovely surprise! Currently on holiday in Marrakesh, ironically there is sooo many Bedford rascals here. You'd be amazed how much they can carry.
In the 90s The Pizza shop in Merthyr Tydfil used one of these vans to deliver pizzas, it was really nippy, fast and you could hit the brakes hard and the rear wheels would lift off the ground.😀
I had the Bedford Rascal myself a few years ago in a blue colour but unfortunately after the head gasket been blown , ino longer had the funds to sort it out. But seeing this one,its awesome. Love it . Thank you for buying it back and bringing it back to life!
Watched the first episode and thought then you should have kept it. I had pleasure of using one of these daily for deliveries of stationery. The two side doors made life easier for deliveries. Good luck with the restoration will be following the episode.
Love seeing the Tasty Rascal back and getting the treatment you wanted to give her first time around. Looking amazing so far - it’s gunna look mint when you’ve sorted the rest of the bodywork and done the cargo area!
I'm pretty sure this van will f you can call it that was what first popped up on my RUclips and bought me to your channel. Thank god because I absolutely love the videos and the down to earth qualities you have make the videos very entertaining. I don't think any other channel can keep me in one video for over an hour. Keep it up Ben and thanks.
Brilliant result getting the van back Ben, and great choice on the paint products, looking so good already and like you said it will protect her for the long haul. Welcome welcome to the tasty fleet little Rascal! 😊👍
I was gutted when you sold her & am now absolutely delighted to see her back in the fleet! It could be the ultimate P & P vehicle, Promotional & Practical! Just think of all the spares she'll be able to carry & she'll look great doing it! Can't wait to see her come back to life! 👍😉
I am a very recent viewer of your channel, and I haven't actually seen the original video featuring the Rascal. I will do soon. I really do hope you bring this lovely little van back to life as, based purely on what you told us, she deserves this and a future of fun and love.
You done a amazing job on this little van and it's going to look great then it's finished! I can see that you love this van and I hope you can have and use it for many years :)
Fantastic idea, I watched the first episode of the Rascal last night so very happy to see it back so soon (for me) you just gained a subscriber and I am looking forward to seeing this little rust bucket restored.
This video was more serious than any other video I’ve watched from you. Think I understand why though, it’s a special van for you and also it’s cost a fair amount to buy it back and you want to make a good job of it. That’s not criticism though, I enjoyed all 2.5 hours. Just wanted to say, I have a brand new welder that’s been sat in the box for a year, watching your videos and then your tip of welding a scrap panel until you’ve got the hang of it has motivated me to get it out and practice. So thanks for that Ben and for the effort you put into these videos for us. Your humility and authenticity make you a great guy to watch and support.
You need the door more closed to lift the front away from the pillar. Used to work on these at vauxhall when they were brand new! Glad you are saving it.
Surely I can't be the ONLY person who has ALWAYS wanted one of these? My late Grandfather has one as a milkfloat for years, and these rascal vans will always have a place in my heart. I've got a photo of him stood proudly next to it on my desk. He kept it immaculate.
Ben the secret to your success is not the bedford or even the allagro its you. Your probably the funniest fella on telly. Keep it up m8. All the best. Martin
Can't believe that it was so long ago that I first watched you do the first phase of this little van - watched every video you've posted since. Fantastic work Ben - please keep up the great work and thanks for all the entertaining content.
Wow I thought you would never get this van looking like it does now. You have put a lot of hard work into it Ben. Great work. Looking forward to the next chapter. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What better way to spend a foggy Saturday morning than to watch Ben breathe new life into a treasured but sad van. Absolutely brilliant and such a joy to watch. Terrific progress and the omens are good for a quality transformation from bottom to top. Many thanks for these vids. Epic watching.
I'm so glad you got this back, I'm looking forward to seeing the restoration, i drive past your place 4 or 5 days a week, so maybe one day I will see it going down the road.
Somebody might have already said this but the weights on the back are to stop it doing an endo under hard breaking, or to stop it tipping off your ramp because of it being front heavy 👍👍
Was disappointed u got rid at the time, thought it would make great viewing getting restored, glad u seen the error of your ways Ben, can see ur love for this little van 👍😊
I really can’t believe the difference between the start of the video and the end , the van looks amazing already , just shows what a little hard work can do , well done Ben for saving this little gem of a van ❤️
My face is sore from smiling so much - really pleased you saved her (again) from the Suez, and she’s gonna look absolutely stunning when she’s done ! Just done a quick ‘how many left’ check, and whilst there are just short of 400 SORN-ed, there are only 152 on the road I love her, I just love her ! Keep ‘em comin’! JCHK
You just got your van back, I just started working on one of my vans that I haven't touched in over a year, its like the van gods have shined down on us simultaneously.
Almost brought a tear to the old eyes seeing this coming back to you. I subscribed after watching the Ambassador revival and seein this right after it. I have been hooked ever since. Amazing work bringing the old rascal back to life.
This was a heroic effort! I loved the Rascal video the first time and it’s fantastic to see the incredible work you’ve done to rescue it. Well done Ben!
Always such a pleasure to watch. I can only imagine how thrilled you must be. In my opinion that little rascal has way more personality than say a VW caddy. Which is why it must be a tasty classic van. Monumental task, what a work schedule undertaken. Goodness me.
Wow! Actual instruction. Cheers, mate! I’ve been sneakily picking up tips, storing them away for the future, when your results are better than I’d expect, if it was me. I’m afraid of welding overhead, after setting myself on fire on a bright sunny day, in my youth. It took me far too long to realise the heat I was feeling was more than a combination of sun and hot metal. Watching you do it is enlightening.
Loved every minute Ben. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again : great to have a channel where you can sit down for a couple of hours and see some real progress on a vehicle. Frankly six month series’ of 25’ episodes … I just can’t be arsed to wait. Don’t change the formula Ben please 🙏 . Looking forward to seeing next Friday’s installment. Rob
This has brought back so many memories. Mid nineties my Dad had one and used to pick me up from Northwich in it and drive me down to his in Devon and back for the weekend. Mustard yellow with about the same amount of rust! I remember flying past the RAC headquarters in it thinking this would be the ideal place for it to break down 😂
Absolutely brilliant, really great episode. What a great restoration, so good to see the work you do, and on such a cool little van too! Looking forward to the next episode on this one
I had an E reg suzuki super carry, best van I've ever had. It had the usual rotted areas as yours got. I dropped the engine out (easy from underneath) and fitted new shells and rings. However, the engines in these were quite throw away due to really thin cylinder liners. I wanted to restore it and go give it a mystery machine flavour, but life got in the way. They are really cool vans, and they fly, even better when they are loaded up with weight.
Hurrah! Thrilled to see this back. Not actually surprised, because it snuck in to some of the other videos we’ve been watching, but I’m delighted to finally see what’s going on with it. I keep forgetting that Bedford badges found their way onto those. We actually had Bedford commercials over here, despite Vauxhall having vanished. Opel was the GM representative in Ireland, which was perceived as a German brand, so it made sense. But I’m not sure I ever saw a Bedford Rascal in the flesh. They were all Suzukis. There are still some running around. Might be worth looking for bits over here. Could even be worth checking Suzuki dealers, over here. You never know what might be taking up space on a shelf that they’d like to free up.
Nice 😀, my mum had this van, only then it was a Suzuki Carry. I like the 'OOK' on the plates, check out the librarian on Terry Pratchett's Dicworld (an Orang Utan that says ook, a lot).
Great news , glad that person spotted it and you were in a position to buy it back , in spite of the inflated price , shame it's rougher than it ought to be by now but you're the man for the job , i'll be glued to this , the stuff of dreams .
Top stuff

Keep up the great work - I loved this one, a very unloved van getting the TLC it deserves.
Thank you mate that is too kind! I won't drink it up the wall I promise 😅🙏🏼
Hello from Virginia in the USA. Love your channel and absolutely love those simple Japanese vans. Can't wait to see the finished product. You are a great personality on youtube. He is amazing. I hope he knows it. A wonderful character. PS Hope the next 4 years go well for you! 😁 (And the rest of us).
This little van introduced me to Tasty Classics when the vid came out, loved it ever since.
Same here, this little Rascal got me subscribed to tasty classics 😁
I never want these videos to end. You have done a wonderful job getting this van back in shape. The HAS BOOK number plate might be worth something too!
My wife has called it dizzie after dizzie rascal 😂 but I honestly can't believe you got it back amazing
Just gave me a weird memory flashback. I was driving in our firms Rascal with a young lad as passenger, who gleefully shouted ''that was Dizzie Rascal'' As he pointed out the window... did anyone ever manage it? I managed to get them to stand on the nose but never roll 😘
We old guy I worked with put it on its side joining the A82 at the Renton slip road😂 no one hurt only his pride
Ben what’s an amazing job you’ve done with restoring that little van I’m glad to see you put your safety squints to one side and now you’re using a proper safety visor to protect your eyes from the sparks!
Great video can’t wait to see the finished product!
Makes me so happy to see this little van being given so much attention and love
Like a lot of other comments, this wee van was my first foray into the world of Tasty Classics. Great to see it back. Love it mate.

So pleased to see it back! It will look amazing done up with tasty classic graphics.
I found you because of this van and was one of those subscribers and watched every hour of video since.

A great man once said just the other day, "perfection stands in the way of good enough". (Dalton, Pole Barn Garage)
Don't forget Ben, there are many places that can 3D print plastic items that you find hard to find and they are not that expensive👍
2 hours 37 minutes of Happy. Thank you Future Ben for saving this wonderful van.
Brilliant result getting the van back Ben, and great choice on the paint products, looking so good already and like you said it will protect her for the long haul. Welcome welcome to the tasty fleet little Rascal! 😊👍
Mahoosive Congratulations on getting the merch-hauler back up and running.

Amazing, the rascal was the first video i saw 2 years ago and have been hooked ever since. i'm not even petrol head,.
This takes me back! My neighbour used to have one of these parked up years ago. They used to be a common sight. Great work and loving the long videos.
Can't believe it's been 2 years since the rascal story started, but glad you have her back and the saga is continuing. Well done Ben
You done a amazing job on this little van and it's going to look great then it's finished! I can see that you love this van and I hope you can have and use it for many years :)

Why not lanoguard the underside and make it look saucy!!!
Loving this return to episode, thanks Ben

I remember this van from that long ago! I'm so pleased to see it back!
Can't believe that it was so long ago that I first watched you do the first phase of this little van - watched every video you've posted since. Fantastic work Ben - please keep up the great work and thanks for all the entertaining content.

Nice bit of door refabrication! And VERY nice body job overall.
I couldn’t agree more ….it was a stroke of luck finding a similar profile piece of metal
Captain hook should be it's name lol I like the one rusty eye looks like a eye patch
Wow I thought you would never get this van looking like it does now. You have put a lot of hard work into it Ben. Great work. Looking forward to the next chapter. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I don't think I’ve ever seen anyone look so happy driving a loaf of bread around😁 “The Tasty Rascal” is looking the nuts, well done👏👏

Ben. Heat up the bottom hinge until it is cherry red, then Lift the door. Job done!!!
Nice tip 👍
A lot of work but great to see it coming back .I was absolutely glued!!!
I dont know why but I love this little van. Really happy its getting a second life
Happy to see the old girl back... i loved my Rascal back in the day.
Forget Capri, TT, etc., this is the real star of this channel. Thanks for the entertainment.
Ah...The return of the wee rascal! Been looking forward to for this one.
Lovely to see a bit of flange on a Friday evening . Nice work Ben 👍🏼
This was a heroic effort! I loved the Rascal video the first time and it’s fantastic to see the incredible work you’ve done to rescue it. Well done Ben!
This was the car that brought me to your channel. It also gave me the kick up the arse to do my own projects!!!
What a good job you have done on the rascal Ben can’t wait to see more on the little van
It appears I am one of many that joined the Tasty Classics with this van but don't forget it's not just the vehicles that people tune in for.
Loving this project! So glad you are keeping it and doing a full restoration. She's looking fab so far.
Looking forward to seeing much more of this
Seems to be a lot of us found your channel through the video of this van. So I can say we’re all glad she’s back ❤
That's cool to bring it ,I remember watching the first episode back then
the rascal was the first one i saw on the channel and i love to see the comeback
So glad you bought it bk, awesome little van can’t wait to see what it like at the end 👍
Always such a pleasure to watch. I can only imagine how thrilled you must be. In my opinion that little rascal has way more personality than say a VW caddy. Which is why it must be a tasty classic van. Monumental task, what a work schedule undertaken. Goodness me.
Delighted to see the Rascal return Ben. I owned a red one years back, and have always regretted selling it!
I'm so pleased and excited about this little rascal I absolutely adore these vans they are just so very cool you're doing a brilliant job 👍
Love your videos. All the best from W Australia 🇦🇺
God I looked forward to this more than watching a Hollywood blockbuster!

Well done Ben, well worth the watch from start to finish. We all can see you love this van. Looking forward to the next episode.
I’m amazed how that came out! Tbh I thought it was a basket case when you started! Hats off to you Ben.
Glad to see the sooty van back looks great.nice work van nice job ben
Hurrah!
Thrilled to see this back. Not actually surprised, because it snuck in to some of the other videos we’ve been watching, but I’m delighted to finally see what’s going on with it.

Nice 😀, my mum had this van, only then it was a Suzuki Carry. I like the 'OOK' on the plates, check out the librarian on Terry Pratchett's Dicworld (an Orang Utan that says ook, a lot).
An absolute awesome video. Ben , I loved every minute of it ... I am looking forward to the next instalment , Brilliant 🤙🏼
Great news , glad that person spotted it and you were in a position to buy it back , in spite of the inflated price , shame it's rougher than it ought to be by now but you're the man for the job , i'll be glued to this , the stuff of dreams .
keep the top half as it is. it's patina and get it sign written would look cool as is.
