An absolute masterpiece of movie making. I remember going to see this here in the UK in 1972/3 with my then girlfriend who shortly became my wife. 52 years later here I am watching and enjoying it again. Sadly, my wife passed away 3 years ago or we would have been watching it together.
It's heartbreaking to loose a loved one who was part of ur life for decades...life sometimes gifts us, sometimes takes away cruelly... nothing we can do..Get along with life brother..

Absolutely Oscar winning. This was released in November 1971 so the 1972 Oscars had Gene Hackman win in the French Connection who he could easily have beaten. Weaver is so much more realistic in my view.

Once again I am looking at this wonderful movie and enjoying it. I live in Australia, back in the seventies we bought a Chrysler valiant VE model looks much the same body shape as the car in this movie. In the last 10 years or so I have aquired and restored a 1946 Peterbilt single drive prime mover ,220 Cummins ,5 speed main box with a 3 speed Joey box both overdrive . I have painted it flat black , it looks real mean . My Peterbilt came out of California still left hand drive .

You must live an exciting life 😅….
@@ThatsTheSpiritGodCast As exciting as it gets when you're living it from a wheelchair. Hope yours is as good as mine my friend. x
Duel is a masterclass in suspense and storytelling! Spielberg's ability to create such intense tension with minimal dialogue and simple yet powerful cinematography is truly remarkable.
The relentless cat-and-mouse chase between the car and the menacing truck keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It's a perfect example of how much can be achieved with a strong concept and brilliant execution.
This film has rightfully earned its place as a cult classic. 🚗🚚"
The restaurant paranoia scene was anxiety inducing. It is slow paced but it gets to you. Creepy as fuck.
One of the best movie of all time! ❤❤❤
Thanks for this It brings back great memories watching this with my Dad in the 70's
Timeless Classic Brilliant Film thank you for uploading on you tube for us fans to watch free 😊
When it comes to white knuckle action and tension , this great film remains a master piece . Steven Spielberg he's the man !
Superb film. The tension build up is unmatched.
That is so cool movie, thanks Retro On Tape!
you,re very welcome!!
Thanks for posting this jewel!
If mobile/cell phones were around back then this masterpiece would never have been made.
Drive recorder is as well..
Right, he would have called the cops immediately
@@Kirkospock Maybe it would be even more creepy when the phone stopped working...
And speed cameras
If the truck had not been invented, this movie would not have existed
man I love movies like this from the 70's which show america, especially California, USA is my spiritual home after growing up on their movies and TV.
Same here.. i can say that for 80s New York
Here too, but soon true home ! 😄
Truly a masterpiece yes.i watched this movie when i was 12y and what i could remember (and never forgotten) was that mighty Peterbilt truck.... beautiful ❤️.
Btw I'm 52y now ....40 yaers ago... thanks for the video 👍🏽
Excellent movie, infact a Masterpiece. Love the beautiful car too, wish I could have diecast model of the car with same color. Steven Spielberg I came to know him with the name of Jurassic Park but believe me he is something outclass. Superb to the exponent many times, excellent movie.
The breakthrough of Steven Spielberg, an absolute masterpiece an after 53 years still pure suspense in its best form
I first watched this as a 10 yr old from Australia. Spooked me back then but I loved it ! And still do . Spielberg is a legend.
Same here.
Same here. Born 1966
spielberg was practically a gen z of his time when he made this masterpiece??!! holy cow 🤯
Masterpiece in every way.
Thank you for uploading this absolute gem! watched this for the first time probably like 25 years ago and found it pretty jarring! Brill!
You're very welcome!
Once again I am looking at this wonderful movie and enjoying it.
I live in Australia, back in the seventies we bought a Chrysler valiant VE model
looks much the same body shape as the car in this movie.
In the last 10 years or so I have aquired and restored a 1946 Peterbilt single drive
prime mover ,220 Cummins ,5 speed main box with a 3 speed Joey box both overdrive .
I have painted it flat black , it looks real mean .
My Peterbilt came out of California still left hand drive .
Come on..how many Times i watch This Movie ? .....Genius
I still consider it Spielberg's best movie to date. Thanks fro sharing!
No Jaws
La première vue j'avais 15 ou 16 ans captivé jusqu'à la dernière seconde. Aujourd'hui 56ans je le revois avec la même passion. Tres beau film.
I've been watching duel since the 80s and it's still is a great movie. 👍
really enjoyed watching that again...classic movie...thanks very much for that
I've seen this many times growing up I'm 50 years old and can't believe this film came out of here years before I was born in 1974 it doesn't make me feel old it just amazes me that the quality is so bloody good for such an old film a very simple idea but one that could sti🎉 happen to anyone out on the roads these days especially with the road rage incidents we all still hear about.
1971
Thanks for uploading this great movie. At 56.49 you can see Steven Spielberg, he is reflected in the window pane from the telephone booth.
Thanks for posting this. Watched this as a kid and it was probably the first film I was genuinely terrified in.
About time they had Dennis Weavers car and the truck as a Scalextric set.
Top 5 at least if not in my top TEN! Some films you NEVER forget.
