      I’ve been using garage band for a little while now, I just can’t seem to get my recordings to sound in you’re face or aggressive. But really though. I’m nothing more than an amateur. Lol. I guess garage band is pretty limited for recording metal?

      Compression and overdrive plugins are generally the key for a more up front sound. Also, there’s some cool plugins from FAC called Maxima and Bandit. I review Maxima here - ruclips.net/video/r2H-Z8cAqqw/видео.html
      Worth checking out!

    Great video Pete! Just started using an iPad for composing and noting down ideas, and this video cleared up a lot of questions I had about Garageband.

      Haha! Seriously, I’m totally a believer is doing whatever works for you. I have just had folks tell me they struggle with staying organised, so these are some options for that. 👍

    Many's the time I've cursed that little inconveniently placed plus button, Pete.

      Right?! No wonder so many people give up on GB thinking it can only make 8 bar loops!!

    Great video! How is it possible that GB still doesn’t support time-stretching/elastic audio/warping... there are several iOS DAW apps that do.

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  5 лет назад +1

      Very true! I’m dreaming or a big version 3 upgrade for iOS 13 and iPadOS that adds something like this. And how about some section names Apple?!?! 😄

    • @mooshinorth8172

      Which iOS DAWs support time stretching? I’m new to iOS music production I’ve been using Ableton on my Mac Pro. Also which ones are good with AUV3?

    Hey mate just wondering if you knew a way to convert an audio file to be able to be compatible with GarageBand? Cheers

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  5 лет назад

      Hey mate. GarageBand will support most standard MP3, WAV, AIF and M4A files without any conversion. If you have a file that is not working, you can try the app and method I show in this video - ruclips.net/video/QJTu4Fcj_xg/видео.html

    Pete when I have a track that is an interaudio track it seems that after you close the song and you go further next day Garageband does not remember which Inter audio app (except the icon) was used. If you want to go further recording the same interaudio app Garageband does not remember which app i used....

      Hey there. Hopefully you’re all good with this now. It was fixed in more recent versions. studiolivetoday.com/gbu

    And here I thought I could get to my song 100+ this whole time lol...but wouldn’t it still save as my song x if u still have a bunch of previous my songs? Also fun fact, if u go to settings in the (audio recording) track, u can turn on follow song key and tempo and get to change the pitch of the song.....

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  5 лет назад +1

      Nice one. Change the pitch of an audio recorder track? I know it works with loops but haven’t been able to change the pitch of an audio recorder track? 🤔

    • @gobyg-major2057
      @gobyg-major2057 5 лет назад +1

      Pete Johns ya I just discovered it last night. Apparently u have just the semitone option if u turn the option on

    • @gobyg-major2057
      @gobyg-major2057 5 лет назад +1

      Pete Johns and the pitch does change when the follow tempo and pitch option is on. I’m testing it out as we replying to each other

      @PeteJohnsMusic  5 лет назад +1

      Nice. I need to delve in to this a little more clearly!! Shoot me an email if you have some tips or a demo of it. 👍

    My ten most recent GarageBand project files are
    -This Song is Horribler
    -The Open Doors
    -Antigravity
    -Endless Eggs-U
    -Where Is My Pen? V2.1-U
    -Not A Boat v2.1-U
    -Onion Goggles v6-U(AO)
    -Navigate (AS7) v2.0
    -ALIVE v8.8
    -Terrified (AS9)
    I can’t for the life of me right now remember what the U stands for in some of those.
    Anyways, I think I do pretty good with naming projects ‘cause you have to scroll all the way down to my 41st recent project to find one called “My Song”

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  5 лет назад

      Haha! Love it. Yes, naming these early and often is the key.... even if you don’t remember exactly why you names things a certain way later. Still better than “My Song”. 😊

    Wow! I must doing every wrong. Or is the end result all that matters?

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  5 лет назад +1

      100% the end result. As I mentioned in the video, this is my process and some ideas. Use none, some or all. If what you’re doing works for you and you’re happy with the end result, you win. 👍🙏🤘
