Thanks for your kind words, and glad I was able to help you out.

Pete Johns I add a little reverb a little delay a little noise gate work with the eq and you would never know it’s amazing you can make songs with not much I use my headphone mic
Nice one Luke. Thanks for sharing.
@@poopfartpoop748 back in the early 2000s, I would've killed for the ability to record on the spot, track multiple instruments, multiple vocals, be able to edit and eq, and be able to upload it online for millions of people to hear, without really spending any extra money. It's amazing.. But now a days, bands will record a decent recording, then try to be cute and put it on a f*cking cassette tape and sell it.. Why would you take the ability to share your music with millions of people, and shit on it by putting your music on a medium that not too many people have the ability to play at their disposal. It seems counterproductive, but what the hell do I know? Haha
The idea that you can create a beat, instrumental, etc on Garageband for free is mind-blowing in my opinion.
We live in the future!!
Dude! You have just opened my eyes on how to play my guitar through Garage Band! I owe you a beer!
Awesome! I’m always down for free beer! And super glad the video helped you out. 🤟
@@PeteJohnsMusic please give us an update …did you ever get that beer ?
Some people give excuses as to why you can't do things.People like you just get on with it.
I am so happy to have watched this! You have proved that a touch of talent and an ipad are all you need to produce wonderful things. {love the song too!}
Thank you very much! Appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Nicholas Pogue all though that’s true... art takes time.
It’s definitely a balance of quantity vs quality. You don’t want to rush things but equally don’t want o gold on to unfinished work for too long.
Ikr das literally why I left my old band they complained that we don’t have good gear and I made the perfect argument that bands never had phones with free daw’s like dis back then so now I started the band with diff ppl and they so much better
What a great comment. That's the iPad for me: for people who just get on with it!
For someone who has to wait record to record an album through this covid crisis, and going Through TONS of walkthroughs.Yours is the only one that actually walks you through slowly, instructivly through the complete process. This I thank you so much for.Im subbing mate.
Great to hear Mason. Appreciate your support and thanks for taking the time to let me know. 👍
Hey Pete,
Thank your for a great video.
Our daughter is a good singer and sings in a few bands. Recently she got an Ipad Pro, and I look forward to hearing her singing duets and trios with herself.
Best wishes to you and your family and bye for now.
Paul from 'Down under' :)
I am so excited to have found your channel! All I have is an iPad Pro and I have been trying to figure out how to get recording on GarageBand with nobody to help me. Can't wait to get cracking on laying some stuff down, finally! You show how approachable it really is for a novice. Thank you, Pete! 🤘🏽
Great to have you on board my friend. It is the best time ever to be creating music on whatever platform you have access to. Dive in and explore the. videos on the channel and make sure you let me know what questions you have along the way.
I’ve been following quite a few of your videos, and I must say, these are top quality tutorials, easy to follow and very well explained. Glad I stumbled onto these in order to make some good use of the time this pandemic has given. Well done, and keep it up!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment my friend. Very glad to hear you’re finding these useful. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍
When you played the track back 1st time I was highly amazed at how good a quality it was! You can easily save your ideas using this method! Thanks!!
It's pretty awesome isn't it? With a little EQ, maybe some reverb and delay, it's totally passable for a demo recording.
Hey Pete. How you doing fella? I’ve just watched this video again so it all sinks In a bit better. I was a complete novice with garage band and afraid of trying to get my head around it and doing something daft like launching my iPad through the music room window! Luckily now your expert tuition has got me laying down some simple stuff and your other excellent videos are going to take me to the next level when I’m confident enough.
So thanks again mate, as it’s a superb help. Top notch RUclips channel👌🤘👏🏻
Cheers my friend! Sorry I missed this at the time but hope you're doing well. And I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍

Thanks Pete now at last I know how to start, been looking for something for complete beginners for ages, thanks a bunch
Not a problem at all Brian. Jump in there and get started! You'll be surprised how easy it is to get something sounding decent in GarageBand. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Since starting my music studies last year, I have been doing work using pro tools and logic. I'm still using GB at home though and have been for years, have missed your vids heaps. Always informative and helpful, cheers Pete.
Cheers my friend! Good to hear from you. 👍
Wow. Amazing how much I’ve learned in just 15 minutes! I’m just a teen trying to find new ways to express myself, and I’m really grateful that it found this channel to help boost my knowledge.
Fantastic! Thanks for watching and taking the time to let me know Em. It is an amazing time to create content of all sorts and the tools have never been better to get his done yourself.
Hope you can find more valuable videos here on the channel, and make sure you share some of what you end up creating with me.
Thanks! Always a pleasure to watch your videos. You know what you’re doing 👍
Thank you my friend. Appreciate it. 🙏
Wow! So glad I found your channel! I’ve been using Garage Band for a while now but recently, I had to replace the old hard drive in my MacBook Pro of 7 years and had to download a new version. I was trying to record a song with just my guitar and vocals simultaneously but I couldn’t understand how to get it to allow this-since this newest version looks quite different. Your video on multi-tracking really helped me out! Plus! This one is great for my ideas that I put on my iPhone! Whew! I was so bummed today...I’m actually recording a full album so I really wanted things to run smoothly! Thank you for your infinite knowledge! ^..^
Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to share your feedback and story. I really appreciate it, and best of luck with your recordings. Make sure you share your music with me once it’s done. 👍

Using what you have. Dude your forever a legend! #Helpful I do a lot of synth vocal recording with a pair of cheap skull candys and it captures my vocals, even tho I don’t have a microphone. Thanks for helping all of us!! Keep inspiring man and drop those hits you make!!!!
100%! Some of my best vocals have just been captured on whatever I have handy.
Well done, by far best explanation of garage band.
Thanks Stevo. Appreciate your kind words my friend.
This video has literally changed my life.... dude, you are a legend 💪🏻💪🏻 i have done nothing but record stuff since watching this...... massive thank you

Really enjoying your videos. You have a gift for communicating the how tos & what's next in Garageband. Thanks a bunch for the video.
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words Judi. Appreciate your support.
Thanks once again for an excellent video! I don’t do the Facebook thing as all the social media stuff just gets too time consuming for me. But something sure is working for you as I see your views are beginning to go through the roof. Great job!!!
Thanks Tim. It’s very flattering and encouraging, and hopefully I’m inspiring others like me to get out and create music.
And I’m super thankful to folks like you who have been supporting me since early on, and help me spread the word through your comments, views and “likes”.
I spent three days trying to work out how to improve on the standard Apple earbuds for my lunch breach recording efforts, looking at a dazzling array of expensive and complicated solutions. I should've known the answer was there all along. It's a kind of genius to point out something which afterwards seems blindingly obvious but which no-one else has thought of (or at least put on RUclips). Thanks a million :-)
Very welcome my friend. Sometimes the simplest option is the the best. 👍😎
I literally got my first iphone ever yesterday and recorded 8 bars of Garbage's Stupid Girl out of nowhere and it got me so hyped that I have been watching your tutorials for the past 2-3 hours and mind You, its 4am where I live atm! You are an inspiration!
Haha! Love me some Garbage and can’t wait to hear what you produce. 🙏
Thanks for teaching and not trying to show how clever you are. Great lesson.
Cheers my friend. Appreciate the kind words. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍
Easy to understand and helpful. You got my thumbs up. Thank you
Thanks so much my friend. 👍
Good man Pete, couldn’t suss out why iPad mic wouldn’t work when I plugged in my headphones, as per your video, now realise it was using the headphone mic instead. Got out the cheap buds, and it works a treat now. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Robert. Yes, it's a common trap for young players with those headset mics! I've done it myself even recently and it's taken me a minute to work out what's going on!
Great video thanks for the tips I look forward to seeing your other videos you have inspired me!..
Wonderful! Glad to hear my friend and thanks to taking the time to let me know. 👍
Excellent video. Thanks. This is where I will start.

Great video it help me majorly, I really enjoyed watching your talent on the GarageBand app and seeing how you co-operate with your subscribers :)
Thanks so much for your kind words and for taking the time to comment.
Super encouraging. Just start recording. Get the gear later after you are actually doing it. Plus.... you said ‘plug these headphone into my face’. That is hilarious.
Haha! I’m glad you liked that part. I honk we must have very similar senses of humour because I thought that was super funny at the time but nobody else seems to think so. 😅
Glad the message was clear. It is totally about the song and not the gear - even more so when you’re starting out.
yay lucky i found this video :) huge thanks! Really appreciate you sharing

Pete....once again, u saved my a$$....im so tech-dumb ive been recording way dunmber than this for months, just winging & figuring it out in my own hyper-dumb way...i felt i was ready to pay close attention to a basic, but perfectly in depth & PROPER tutorial.....man, this is awesome, the more i explain myself the dumber im gonna sound, so ill shut up & end with this....as far as garage band & ipads are concerned....u are doing god’s work, thank u, sir, thank u🙏🙏🙏 ...i feel ready to watch more complicated stuff & do everything the proper way now...thx u:D
Thanks so much for the kind words. So glad I’m able to help. Keep on rocking.
For people who have headphones with mic, you can use a cable that divides the mic and the headphones (pink and green)
Yup. A TRRS splitter can do the trick.
Excellent video mate! I sat with my new iPad for about 6 weeks while I saved the money for an interface to record stuff. If only I’d found this video sooner! Keep up the good work
Thanks Bryan! Appreciate your kind words. What interface did you end up buying? Whilst I’m all about getting things done without gear, I’m always keen to hear what people are using.
I purchased a Focusrite Scarlett solo which is decent to use but I also purchased an IRig 2 for convenience. I’ve been a recording artist for years but this my first venture into ‘self recording’ so I’m learning as I go. I’m slowly getting there though with the help of your vids ;)
Nice one! Great to hear. I have a Scarlett 2i2 and love the quality of the preamps in that one. I have a cheap knock-off iRig for the same reason - convenience! I see a few videos on your channel which I'll have to check out. If there's any other links to your music you'd like to point me to, go for it.
Really superb, informative videos for someone like myself who can play and sing ok, use amps etc, but really have no idea about recording etc. Can’t thank you enough. Cheers from Kev over in Lincoln UK. P.s. really love your own stuff too👌🎶🤘

Awsome, good work Sir👏👏😎
Thanks my friend.
Thanks for your reply Pete! I will try Punchy Presence !!
Let me know how you go. My usual workflow is to record through punchy presence for the lower latency and hen convert to Lead Vocals, as it is closest to how I like my vocals to sit. I really must save some presets of my own one of these days!
Thanks so much helped a lot you are awesome!!!

Thanks Pete. Great information for an isolation challenge for some budding young musicians bored with online learning in these COVID times. Interested to hear your thoughts on connecting stringed instruments like violin and cello to GarageBand. Currently have a Headway ‘The Band’ and deciding whether to go down the path of connecting to iPad or just using a mic. Probably similar question for whether there is much advantage in hooking up an acoustic guitar.
👍🏻👍🏻
Rob
Howdy Rob. So yes, I’ve had decent results using the built in mic for recording guitars and a friend of mine recorded some violin using the internal mic that I think sounds amazing. You can hear it on this song - ruclips.net/video/Al8HeV5w_60/видео.html

I see the Home Studio Corner shirt. I used to buy stuff from Joe when he worked at Sweetwater. He’s a great guy!
Awesome! Yes, Joe was a big inspiration to me when I started recording and really focusing on mobile home recording.
