Hi nice post. I am using GarageBand on my iPad through Focusrite but can’t hear my recording through my headphones although I can see my track is there. I have checked inputs. Any suggestions? Cheers IM
Hi Zane, great videos. I have the set up shown with my iPad, I can't get any sound from the iPad in Garageband to the headphones in the iD4 even with the mix turned all the way round to DAW. The only cones from the iPad speakers. Any advice? Cheers.
Hi, I've got a question. I have a Macbook & an Ipad. Now what I want is to to record the track on my macbook and want to play the Guitar that's with Garageband on my Ipad. You get what I am trying to do?
Thank you for checking it out. I know this is different from what I normally do so I wasn’t expecting a lot of regulars to watch it. Glad you found it helpful. Keep creating! 👊👍
Thanks for the video! Question: At 8:11 when you start recording, it shows the amp. When I try to record, I switch to the view where I can see track, but lose the sound of the amp and effects. Can you record with the sound of the amp while the screen shows all the tracks?
why is your waveform so small in amplitude? mines the same and its driving me mad. on the guitar input symbol, there was an input volume slider, but randomly its gone and looks the same as yours. little frustrating 😅
@@AudioTechTV I think I’m going to put this stuff away for now. Can’t get it to work consistently - and I don’t need anything else in my life to cause frustration. I may come back to it later when I have more time. Like, when I retire. Thanks again for your help though.
How do you monitor the recording? I have a USB-C dock - if I plug in headphones to the dock, it disables the input. About ready to throw the whole kit into the river.
If you’re using an audio interface and trying to use a usb headset at the same time it won’t work. The headphones need to be plugged into the interface.
Thank you!!! I thought if I did that I wouldn’t be able to hear the Garageband tracks - I thought I’d only be able to hear what was coming in from the Audio Interface.
Hi Zane, firstly thank you for your content. Unrelated question. can I simultaneously record and play rendering track in waveform. I'm trying to get audio out into restream plugin but it appears I am only able to send what's playing but not what's recording. This makes it hard for me to send audio into restream plugin. Any suggestions? Appreciate it.
I’m not familiar with restream so I don’t know exactly what is going on. If it’s like obs studio then it doesn’t use Asio and if you’re using Asio as your driver in waveform then you won’t be able to hear the output in restream. You can try changing the driver type. Which may cause higher latency. Another option is to download and install the FL Studio demo (unless you own FL Studio) when installing choose to install the FL Asio Driver it’s selected by default so don’t unselect it. Then in waveform select the FL Driver as your device in The Asio category. Click on the control panel and select your interface as the input and output. This will route the audio to the regular driver for your device so obs studio and likely restream will pick it up. I use this when doing screen captures.
It’s like a regular daw with audio and midi. I think a lot of people only use the midi features. But if you connect an audio interface you can create high quality music. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

I get a lot of cracking sound when I connect through my interface as shown in the video
I have a mustang fender amp and made the exact preset I want for my guitar, so how can i have my personal amp and guitar recording into garage band?

@@AudioTechTV That makes sense, will try that. Will let you know how I go with it. Really appreciate.
where's the tuner?
I thought Garage Band was all MIDI.
