I guess it is pretty off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch new movies online ?
Brilliant, Professor. I've set it before if you use Garageband, Studio Live should be required viewing. So many valuable tips here over and above what the subject is. That work-around for the bug is important. How many poor musicians get tripped up by that and just give up? You provide so much, Pete. Thank you.
Yup. I try to mention that all the time. I know it will be redundant if and when the bug is fixed but for now I want to help alleviate as much first ration as possible.
Thank u I've searched how to do this for 2 days and this was the only thing that helped me! Having the same name for Mac and iOS (GarageBand) makes it so hard to find things related to the iOS version =/
I hear you! It’s one of the main reasons I started this channel focused on mobile recording. This video might help you in the future - ruclips.net/video/reQJHCQM65U/видео.html
Excellent Pete thank you
You’re very welcome my friend. I hope you get value from the other videos here on the channel and consider subscribing. 👍
I just got an Iphone, so I got an IK connector... and on You Tube there is the exact video I needed. Thank you that was very helpful. Now I am looking for a video on DIY brain surgery.
Nice one!! I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍
@@PeteJohnsMusic I just subscribed. Actually I don't know if you have a video on bluetooth and garage band. I have a fender mustang micro that sounds fantastic. I don't know if and how it can work with garage band. The idea is to be able to play outside in the park and have a loop to play along. It seems your Les Paul is an Epiphone, I got the Les Paul Special (TV Yellow LOL) I love it.
Thanks

You should be a teacher, I bet you can explain anything for everyone to understand! ☺️
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍
Thanks, that worked! Was not aware this could be done 👍🏻
Very welcome my friend. It’s a pretty cool way to get some custom sounds.
cheers mate you explained it very well
👍🙏🤘
Top notch again, Pete! Ty.
Welcome my friend.
My problem is that the loop has an audible click when it restarts. I've tried using automation to add a crossfade, but can't get it quite right. Any tips would be appreciated!
Yeah that can be challenging and there’s no real way to fix this apart from try recording the loop again or using a different one.
Idk what you're using, but I'm using the basic iRig 2 and turning down the volume on the iRig helped a lot with the clicking sound
i have the same problem i can literally hear the beginning of the loop and the end pf the loop. maybe there should be a proper way to record the sound.
Can’t wait for this one!
Hope you can watch the premiere. I’ll be there watching and chatting too. 👍
Alright let’s do this!
👍🙏🤘
I record my guitar with just my iPhone mic as it’s not a plug in, save it as a voice memo, then to files and import it as a loop. The problem I have is with getting virtual instruments to be in time with it, even with the follow option on virtual drummer, it’s still out of time!
Hey there. Yeah you will need to actually record to a metronome or “click track” so your loop is at a set tempo that you can then set your virtual instruments to.
Pete Johns ah thank you! Are these options on GarageBand? Or this this something external? Heard of the metronome timer but not a click track
Tried doing this but because my song has different speeds, it’s off putting at times have this metronome. Does this mean it’s just a case of trial and error getting the drums right?
I cant get the pause out of my loop. it pauses at the beggining and right before it loops. Sounds BAD. I am doing this in a IPAD
Yeah, the trick is usually to play through when you're recording loops and watch the timing. If the timing is slightly off, you'll get a pause or a click/pop.
Hi, Pete, any video on how to record a raw guitar track and then apply to it an external plugin (like Bias FX or Yonac or Amplitube) to apply the effects to the recorded track?
Towards the end of the next video after this one I show that with a clean track. You pretty much just add the effects as Audio Unit plugins - ruclips.net/video/umO4ZCJRc9k/видео.html

Far out.First time I noticed you can make new bars, then bring them to front of song by dragging Section B above section A.YES.

how to make modern guitar tone in GarageBand plz
I like Tonebridge. Always improving! ruclips.net/video/33bceG3oeIE/видео.htmlsi=1I8zn-95QqcKP4aH

@@PeteJohnsMusic subscribed years now, tho a bit apprehensive that I can perform the functions I want. Right now trying to sus out how to, live stream to RUclips my GarageBand from iPad but I’m having troubles. Couldn’t afford a Mac so I got the Ipadpro 2 (headphone jack) and using at the moment this old analog synth and irig via headphone jack, which all works fine, but finding an app to let me live stream jam , is giving me rabbit hole trouble, at least a few hours later I’m still not quite sure if it’s allowed in this current year and time. :/
I've got a headache from looking at looper pedals. Are they worth it if you have GB?
GarageBand doesn’t have the greatest live looping functionality for guitar so really depends exactly what you’re trying to do.
@@PeteJohnsMusic backing guitar with lead and maybe drum/bass backing. Boss RC 3 or 5 seem to have that. Trio plus looks interesting but people claim it doesn't work great
Brilliant video mate! Do you know if pedals can be used to start/stop a single loop? I have created a customised loop music in ios, which I use to sing and play along to, but occasionnally I stop the percussion loop (usually during the bridge part of a song) and then start it again, but have to use my finger to tap start/stop. I have an Airturn quad 200 but cannot figure out a way to start/stop a particular loop. I can customise start/stop the full song, but I just want it to do the one loop. Any help will be really appreciated ... cheers Harpinder
Hey there my friend. Maybe ask the folks over at the GarageBand Users Facebook group on this as I’m pretty simple with my pedal use. studiolivetoday.com/gbu
@@PeteJohnsMusic cheers mate will check them out… keep up the good work … your work is amazing and very valuable ❤️
Nice!
🙏🤘
frigin fantastic!!! But you move fast mate! Bare skip back button ; )
Yup. Keep this one handy! ruclips.net/video/x7fQ5-y-y_s/видео.html
Hi Pete did you use the Irig for this?
I honestly can’t remember! 🤔
It was either that or the Steinberg Steinberg UR22C.
Hi! Newbie here. My (classical) guitar is not plug in and I have an iphone. Do you know if I can use the app only on my phone? and if yes do I need a microphone to plug in my iphone or the recording function is ok?
Hey there. You can indeed record with just the built in mic which I show in this video - ruclips.net/video/FiFerT4ULUw/видео.html
You can then choose to upgrade and use a mic and interface - ruclips.net/video/Sc-_LiuqiRA/видео.html
@@PeteJohnsMusic thank you SO much!
Pete, I need help with a past video you posted. I have a dead track that won't fix itself. When I tap the track as suggested, I don't get the duplicate track option. Could it be because I recorded my real piano? Like, my baby grand in my living room? I'm lost. I need this track back. It's for a FB life Easter service!! Help!!
Hey there Lisa. So just checking that you’re tapping right on the actual track icon and not the wave file? You need to first duplicate the track and then copy the audio file across.
Pete Johns Ah. Ok got it. I'll watch the video again since I forget what to do after that. But you got me on my way. I'll keep you posted. Thank you!
Thank you, Pete for the useful tutorial, but how do I make my loops to follow the tempo of the song when I need to adjust it? Is there some workaround to have something like acidized waves or Flex mode on iOS?
You’ll need to use an external app like this one. ruclips.net/video/VbEzhygQqgw/видео.html
Pete, (or anyone) can these created loops have variable tempo like Apple loops?
Hey Paul. I haven’t found a way to make loops that can time stretch at this stage but I have been told that that it may be possible. Standard WAV files however are at a static tempo.
This is cool. Whoever wants a riff hit me up! Lol
Man, I expect the Mobile Metal guitar pack to be on the virtual shelves within a week. 😄🙏
Pete Johns haha! It does have a nice ring to it. And if I ever heard my guitar in one of your tracks I would be beyond stoked. Lol
His left and right side of the face does not match.
Most of the best things in life are not perfect or symmetrical. Just sayin’
Chaitana Giri Your left and right side of the brain seems not to match in your case, THAT is a real problem pal
