✨Hey! I see a lot of questions in the comments about that app. 1. How to use that app on stage? How to connect an electric guitar (or acoustic with the pickup)? Can I use an audio interface with that? You’ll find the answers in my next video: ruclips.net/video/LtNlcWgWTUY/видео.html 2. Is there any way to use floor pedal with Loopy Pro? May I build hands-free setup? Watch that video: ruclips.net/video/UdlphBpREQ4/видео.html
Hi, this sounds like a nice app. I see you also have the Loopy HD app, but I’m not sure what the differences between both apps are. Could you please compare the different features of both apps, tell us why there are two versions, and of course tell which one is the better of the two ? Thank you in advance ! PS: what does a 12 month subscription cost for Loopy Pro ?
Best video on Loopy Pro so far. Good explanation (even if, as you said, you are just scratching the surface of what Loopy can do), good music (which helps a lot: some tutorials saying “you can do this” and then they don’t do it or they do it making music that will make your ears bleeding are not really helping to show the potential of an app) and the “keep it simple, we’ll talk about the complexity later” are all winning points to me. You are really making Loopy a good service. Good job
I aways wondered why none made an app equally or even more capable than all the classic loop station options... this seems to be the one finally... i'll check it out definetly.
Hi, Max. Thanks for the videos. They're amazing! A question: how are you recording your guitar? Are you using a condensed microfone? The post production of the videos (compressing, equalizing, mixing etc) was made on the Loopy Pro too? I would like to use it to record Instagram videos, and that has to be as fast and practical as it can be.
Seriously the best Loopy Pro video I've watched. it's been nothing but these "pro producers" either just making a (crappy) beat with barely explaining what's going on or them making my ears hate every second of it and making me not want the app. This though? I'm throwing my wallet at the app!
I've checked several apps for Android and they all have common problem: the delay. In any kind of action but especially in recording sounds (like from guitar) to the rhythm already played by the app - after turning it on it is delayed that you ears are filling with blood. Synchronization is a problem, timing is a problem (UI key press, record then play). Maybe the algorithms used in Loopy would solve that but yeah... maybe that is the reason why Loopy is not on Android? I won't change my phone to iPhone for this reason but maybe I'll buy second hand iPad....
@@konradwiniarskithe fact that you would have to buy a 2nd hand electronic to runan app is absolute bullshit. This is another reason why I despise Apple on certain levels. "Freaking buy only our products" is their mindset. It's not that hard to make something compatible for Android, companies do it all the time. And in this day and age, I would think that most companies producing apps would do it for both platforms. To me, that shows that the peeps that make looper are either fan boys of apple or just don't care. Whatever happens. I hope you find an inexpensive solution. The only one I have found is buying a 300 looper pedal for all the things I want to accomplish with a looper.
*It's stupid and they can steal your samples.* I'll stick to my loop station. *One quick question, How Could It Be Used Live?* So why buy something that can only be used at a desk? Then constantly pay for updates, and new apps?
Dude, i love u. Just bought an iPhone 16 pro and was searching for a live looping setup, and since the new pro has a very good mic, I think you just saved me a bunch of money ❤ I subbed
Just came across this, Bought Loopy Pro months ago but a bit overwhelmed by its capabilities. This is a great video, I didn't even know it had an autodetect! Thanks for posting and I'll look up your other videos.
This was so informative and helpful. I’ve had loopy for a while but as an amateur & hobby guitarist, I just haven’t braved learning this tool. Thank you 🙏
Building from scratch in a live setting cannot have that hiccup at the very beginning of a loop. It has to be seamless. Your edit at 13:54 omits the truth of this moment. Why not use the pedal? Is it the clicking sound? Thank you for the demo.
Of course, no one assumes you’ll build a template from scratch during a performance. It’s better to design your own template beforehand and just use it. You can save a template as a project and have a bunch of different templates for different songs, for example. As for the hiccups, I just didn’t mask the auto loop detection. This approach is definitely only suitable for home jamming. On stage, it’s better to use either a floor footswitch or record under a metronome in headphones. You can route the loop monitoring along with the metronome through a separate output of your audio interface. That way, you’ll hear the full mix and metronome in your headphones, while only the mix (without the metronome) is sent to the audience. Here’s a video where I explain all these methods in more detail: ruclips.net/video/ZHNhPKeQV1g/видео.html
Thank you so much for your creative tutorial with all the animation and simple explanations. As a newbie, this video is like a lifesaver, I’m so glad youtube recommended this video of yours to me. Please make more video like this with MPK Akai mini.
Thank you! Have no experience with AirTurn BT500S-6, but I've checked online that it can send MIDI commands. You just need to find the way to set it up like I described in the tutorial video
this tutorial is amazing! I have to say, the app was almost too complicated for me at first-it starts you with so many circles! Starting with one at a time and adding colors + stuff as you need them seems cool to me. Great app, though
So what is the actual audio input he is using. Not clear in the video. OK, I gather hes using the internal mic. But what is the USB device that is hanging down from the table?
Look forward to seeing this on Android and PC. I don't use Apple anymore. Buying things that can't be upgraded and are proprietary doesn't work for me.
Great video. I might actually get it, although i'm getting annoyed buying apps only to find they get removed from the store after several years. This one looks really good though.
Thanks! Previous app from that developer is Loopy HD. It was released in 2018 and it's still on the App Store (November, 2023). So, I assume Loopy Pro will be there. BTW, there is really friendly community of looping enthusiasts around that app (FB and Discord). I hope we could support the developer
Hi Max, Great videos, thank you for sharing. I subscribed your channel and bought the app after watching your videos. I like the way you demonstrate! May I ask you a question? At about 9:30 of this video, did you need any special set up to allow the second donut to run auto recording after 1st donut played one bar? Again, love your videos and your guitar playing! 😍
Hi! Thanks! No, you don't need any special setup. By default, all the subsequent loops (after the 1st one) have the same length. However, you can set a different length: Manually before recording. For example, 4 bars. This usually means it's four times longer than the first loop (or master circle). Swipe up on the specific loop > Adjust the first slide. Manually stop recording. Go to the sandwich menu (upper right corner) > Clip settings > Count Out Quantization > None. In this case, you could be a bit late. But don't worry, Loopy Pro helps you with that on the fly. Check out an example here at 5:30
Hi Max, Awesome video!! I’m having the same issue and second donut is not starting automatically after 1 bar.. Would it be possible to explain little further with settings or even a video as many asked?
Another great video. Would love to see exactly what settings you used to make the second donut start recording after the first one finished (with a bar of lead-in). The options are almost overwhelming.
Yeah, it’s not a straightforward setup. Basically, you should swipe up on the current loop and set up a follow action. The trigger is ‘Finish initial record.’ Then, you can adjust the delay (1 beat, 1 bar, etc.). The action is ‘Record’ the next loop. Sorry, it’s difficult to explain in text format, but I have dedicated lessons on that topic (automatisation) in my Quickstart course for Loopy Pro - www.loopymax.com/
Such an excellently explained and demo’d video of a simply GREAT recording tool! This thing is amazing! And I love your YT channel! Thank you! This is exciting stuff!

On the Loopy Pro website, the develoer Michael says he’s also the developer of Audio Bus, which is pretty established and used by tons of people. So it seems like he’s gonna be around
I was turned onto loopy some time back and bought it pretty much straight away for my iPad, I made a couple of loops and wanted a foot pedal (guitarist) and put off buying one so I could work out what to get. We are now a year on and I haven’t used it as I don’t have a cable to connect foot switch to iPad for a Behringer. Your demo of auto loop was great trigger to get on with it and use the app
Hopefully, this will catch Boss's and other loopers attention and they will come out with something even better than this.!! For that video, I've been using Zoom H6 in audio interface mode. It has a great stereo mics! Just connected it via USB with lightning adapter (MK0W2ZM/A) Pickups are not engaged here (but it’s easy to use pickups > audio interface > usb-cable and adapter > iPad/iPhone) Audio was recorded straight into Loopy Pro You might want to watch that video about connectivity ruclips.net/video/LtNlcWgWTUY/видео.html
Can you save efforts as future backing tracks . Or can you build them in studio for playing outside. I’d like to keep track building to a minimum while playing live .
Very nice video. Thanks. However it would have been nicer if the default screen had different colours to show Record (Red), Play (Green) and Overdub perhaps in blue.
Yes, you can. I’ve recorded several examples that showcase what you can do with this app. While they might not be the most complex projects, I hope they give you a clearer idea of the capabilities of Loopy Pro: 1 ruclips.net/video/T1es9YAlvWY/видео.html 2 ruclips.net/video/ZUIplnWtc9E/видео.html 3 ruclips.net/video/bqgMvh6LEic/видео.html

Pickups are not engaged here (but it’s easy to use pickups > audio interface > usb-cable and adapter > iPad/iPhone)
Audio was recorded straight into Loopy Pro

Can you save efforts as future backing tracks . Or can you build them in studio for playing outside. I’d like to keep track building to a minimum while playing live .
Can it work woth Android Phone?
Прекрасное видео!! Спасибо большое
Very nice video. Thanks. However it would have been nicer if the default screen had different colours to show Record (Red), Play (Green) and Overdub perhaps in blue.
Thanks! You could paint them all green. Record and Overdub status has red color by default :)
Superb review. … we’ll done sir!
Thank you kindly!
This video is great! But mannnnn, can we get a video lesson on some of these chords your using??
Thanks! Do you want chords for every example in that video or some specific moment? Send me timecode :)
can you record with it, in that you can build up a song with all the loops, make verses and refrains and So on?
Yes, you can. I’ve recorded several examples that showcase what you can do with this app. While they might not be the most complex projects, I hope they give you a clearer idea of the capabilities of Loopy Pro:
