  • 5 things I love about my 2022 RAM 2500 Power wagon with the 6.4 hemi is the amazing off road 4wd lock performance. the front and rear locking diffs along with the winch are fantastic. The RAM interiors are the best and better then ford or GMC has to offer. The Power wagon is the least expensive off road heavy duty truck. And it has the best looking exterior styling.
    I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I apologize about the delay with the videos but we are crazy busy getting ready for our big move. regardless I figured we could talk about 5 things I love about my 2022 ram 2500 power wagon.
    I have owned this truck for a little over 6 months and in that time these are the 5 things I absolutely love about this truck.
    1. The off road capability. the power wagon comes with incredible off road ready components including 2 fully locking differentials. a heavy duty locking transfer case. a 12,000 lbs winch, disconnecting sway bar, 2 inch factory lift, 4.10 gears and some beefy skid plates. all put together this truck gives me incredible confidence when off road and I love it. one of the main reason I bought this truck
    2. the interior is top notch. out performs Chevrolet, GMC and ford. it is comfy and one of the best features about this power wagon
    3. the exterior look of the power wagon is 10/10 I think RAM nailed the design. it looks aggressive yet distinguished at the same time and it is really one of the best looking vehicles on the road.
    4. Price. so these heavy duty trucks are all expensive but the power wagon seems to be fairly inexpensive when looking at it's competitors like the ford f250 tremor and the GMC AT4 which are all considerably more expensive.
    5. the ride quality for a 2500 is exceptional. I did not expect this truck with a solid front axle to ride so well. it really is a joy to drive and does not bang you around like a normal ram 2500 does.
    I hope you guys liked the video!

    You always hear people saying that the 33” tires on the Power Wagon aren’t big enough. The engineers at Ram are not stupid. These tires were selected for very specific reasons. This is a factory stock off-road truck, not a trophy truck. In my experience, I’ve never had any trouble going anywhere I want in this truck except narrow trails. The 1 or two inches you gain with larger tires is not worth the trade off, like worse gas mileage, extra wear and tear on the drive train, and even lower towing capacity. The Ram engineers have found the perfect balance between off road capability, work capability, and the ability to have a great daily driver.

    • @TheGettyAdventures
      @TheGettyAdventures  Год назад +3

      that rear diff hangs pretty low but you aren't wrong 35inch tires will in theory lift the truck 1inch. and that's what I would consider doing.

      33s aren’t enough for anything I own a 2019 power wagon and I run fuel rims with an offset and 35 inch ko2 tires my 33s had no traction they weren’t wide enough at all I’d spin out all the time due to my 6.4 hemi fuck those shitty tires

      The trick is to go to a higher and narrower tire for the ultimate traction. We quit plowing our road into our ranch during winter. I've run the PW through 4' of new snow and never had a problem.

      Wider tires give you more traction how? Watch the video comparison on 255s to 315s on ground the footprint of the tire is the same unless you are down to like 7psi@@LetsGoRangers-xn1hh

    Love your videos, super informative! I've been researching getting a new truck (1st gen tundra owner for 10+ years) and am thinking going with a ram 1500 or 2500 and based on your videos I'm leaning towards the 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins. I live Montana and do farm work/ag consulting and don't necessarily have the need now for hauling on a regular basis but am trying to anticipate my needs in the future. Would love to see a video with your perspective on which would make a better overall daily driver/work truck and if its worth making the jump to the 2500 diesel or sticking with the 1500 with the 5.7.

    I been wanting one for the last few years. Test drove a standard 2500 tradesman and finally pulled the trigger and put a deposit on a Power Wagon. Don't know how long I'll be waiting for it but I did it that way so I get the exact options I feel are worth paying for. And not one sitting on a lot with options that I don't want to pay on while losing out on the ones I rather invest that money at. So now it's the waiting game until then. 🙂

    Compared to a standard 2500 RAM the power wagon comes standard with LED headlights. Have to get the right package with a standard 2500 to get LED headlights. Agreed. You don’t have to build out a power wagon with insane level of option packages to get a nicely equipped rig. Factor in the off road hardware and cushy suspension and it’s a great daily driver. Assuming you’re not going nuts on the gas bill. I laughed when you said you look back at it 2 or 3 times when you park it. I get it haha

In my 2022 tradesman crew cab It sounds as if the window is slightly open and you hear the wind but its only on the passenger side i hear this when im on the highway. Its not unbearable but slightly noticable. Just curious if this is something common with rams especially 2500's? Thanks for your time

    Ram spent millions of dollars developing this truck and it shows. I’ve owned many 4WD trucks over the years and most were fairly capable, but none come close to the capability of this truck. It can’t tow as much weight as other 3/4 ton trucks, but what it can tow it will tow to just about anywhere you need to go. I can haul 6 tons of hay across any field or pasture, winter or summer, with no problem.

    • @TheGettyAdventures
      @TheGettyAdventures  2 года назад +1

      It's a tough truck and it is cool because it is almost a stand alone platform and Ram really put their money where their mouth is and build a truly off road ready heavy duty pickup truck and didn't care if it affected the towing or payload. unlike the ford and GMC.

    • @TheGettyAdventures
      @TheGettyAdventures  Год назад +1

      Thank you sir! Well I would say the 6.4 hemi will outlast the 5.7 hemi as it's just a stronger built engine with way more cooling. It's said to last to around 200-250k miles. with the heavy duty platform you are going to get big beefy axles and drivelines that will last. the ZF 8 speed seems to be doing well in the RAM 1500's but it's only been in the heavy duty line up since 2019 so ideally it will perform well like the 1500's but you never know.
      but again this is modern truck and they don't build them to last like they used too. but being a 2500 I would say you're going to get 8-10 years out of it ideally before anything major breaks.

    Agree. I ordered a white Power Wagon and deleted the decal option. The stickers have grown on me since, but I also worried about how the decals would hold up in the Southeastern US sun.
    I do plan to change out the tires for 35s. There's a small amount of ground clearance gained, but it's more for cosmetic reasons. The stock tires just appear to be a little too small for such a large truck. As someone who has some drive time in the PW, what do you think about going to 35s?

    • @TheGettyAdventures

      the white truck with the deleted decals is a clean looking truck! in terms of tires I would like to go for 35's at some point maybe after I burn through these duratracs. Ram's have always been cheaper than Ford or Chevy. I got my 2017 ram 1500 used for $25,000 USD. Lonestar 2WD, and that was a good deal. Chevy, and Ford's are overpriced because I think for many many years people think Chevy, and Ford's are the only good trucks to buy..which their not anymore. Ram has a solid ZF transmission, and equip that with a Hemi it can be a solid long term truck if you maintain it.

    • @TheGettyAdventures
      @TheGettyAdventures  2 года назад

      couldn't agree more, I think Ram's weakness in the past has been transmission issues so dropping in the 8 speed ZF has really helped make these trucks more reliable. I think ford is almost focusing too much on the new tech with the all aluminum and what not and forgetting most people just want a simple reliable pick up tuck. the forth gen ram trucks were great and I think that's why ram stuck with them for 12 years. and you can still find brand new fourth gen trucks on the lot. pretty impressive.

If you want a truck to do truck stuff it can’t get worse then this truck lol.. it has super low towing, it has pathetic payload, and it gets horrible mpg along with ridiculous tire noise. So again if you wanna do like normal truck stuff, pulling and hauling stuff it’s a terrible truck.

    What's the height to the top of the wheel wells off the ground?

    You should tell them how when you turn your wheel or hit your blinker more like comes on in the direction you're going instead of that headlight going out like indoor trucks!
