Good information. I said on your last video, if i can't be my full self (flaws and al), with a man. I have NO interest in being with him. A man should feel the same as well with a woman. I personally think most relationships are dysfunctional because people judge, shame, criticize and throw each under the bus. People don't own their stuff and blame others for their problems. I once had a midlife guy on a date say to me, I don't understand why I can'f find a wife, I said perhaps you NEED to learn how to be a husband (he was very selfish man and it was all about his needs). I fill my own cup every day and we all should be doing this.

Saying you're busy is always an excuse. Obviously in circumstances, you're busy with your children, court, but no one is ever too busy for someone they truly want to be with and care for. 💯

I enjoy your videos Jonathan because it just makes sense! It's EXACTLY how I think. Most men, however, don't have "serious" or "long-term" in mind when they start dating. They don't have a "destination" in mind . . . And it becomes obvious early on when their actions don't match their words or they don't make you a priority or even make plans in advance! Its frustrating.

My long term low commitment long distance relationship (quoted by Ken in the Barbie movie) is moving along wonderfully. We have only gone on two dates/trips in one year, but we talk everyday. I constantly wonder if he will move my way soon but he seems scared to be that committed. Hearing all these signs makes me feel more at ease. He hits all these marks even at a distance.

How many months into a long distance relationship should you move in together or move to that city to ensure the relationship lasts?
Can offering “help” in the early stages of dating sometimes be problematic? For me it can bring up uncomfortable feelings, like what if the dating doesn’t work out, yet I’ve benefitted from their “help”, and then I feel guilty? Or I can feel “obligated” or indebted, or I’m perceiving the offer of help as somehow manipulative or coercive. Also it can feel a bit inappropriate or even patronising. I guess it depends on the situation / the help being offered, and is ultimately quite nuanced. It could be either a big red flag or a sign of commitment and care, depending on what stage of the dating etc. I think ultimately if it feels off that may be enough to trust my gut. Though I’m also working on trust and self esteem issues around feeling worthy of being supported / being able to receive support and care etc…
Anyway thanks, great video, I feel I’m making progress with my discernment capabilities and raising my standards. Chaos is now a huge turn off for me 🎉🙌

Question: I’m in a relationship that I do want to be long term… “it”… we both have kids. Mine are high school age, his are younger. I’m not in any rush to combine families physically until my girls are older, maybe even out if the house… this could be subject to change in a year or two… it’s just how I feel right now. 1) His relationship status
2) If you were to make the first move & you did (or didn’t) get the outcome you wanted, would that make future appointments weird or uncomfortable?
3) How are your interactions with him currently? Is he flirty or just nice?
In no way am I trying to talk you out of it. (I actually hope it works out in your favor) Just be sure to consider the variables and how you’d be prepared to handle it before making your decision.
