    i use coconut oil as well. 2x 9$ jars last me a year. Hydrates way better and doesn't dry my beard out like most beard oils. Keep in mind it has to be unrefined virgin coconut oil. Nutiva works well and is cold pressed. Coconuts are hairy for a reason lol

    I bought a jar of Nutiva coconut oil. Its fantastic! I use it on my beard twice a month as a "treat" and a switch from beard butter. Also, I use it on my face and arms when I sit on my porch to get a suntan . I find I like this organic coconut oil instead of suntan lotion with all those chemicals!!! And you dont have to refrigerate it after opening.

I’ve also used it on other parts of my skin like my forehead and hands. I have oily skin on my face and my hands get really dry and the coconut oil has worked wonders all the way around. Cheers!

    Been using coconut co-wash after a recommendation years ago from the Sultan of Silver. He mixes in a small amt of purple conditioner to brighten up the grays. Somewhere around once a week does the trick for me. Great info as usual, JT.

    • @daveferguson7738
      @daveferguson7738 3 года назад +1

      I found Jhirmack purple conditioner at a beauty supply store and it was inexpensive. I just mix in enough to give the coconut co-wash a lavender tint. About 20% should do it. The longest part of your beard already looks great, but I’ve still got some steel gray from jawline on up. If I don’t use it periodically, my white starts to look a little dull.

    Excellent! Your beard looks awesome! Two years ago, I grew a nice 10-months beard! The main product that I use then and now is cold press Coconut oil. I also mix it with sulfur grease that enhances that strengthens and lengthens the hair molecules. I am now regrowing it!!! I am only 4-months in though! 😓 But O got the discipline! My goal now is long term! I am not touching it for a year. But I am going to keep it! But this time, I'm not going to shape it up for a year!!!

    What about fractionated coconut oil

    • @Joet9
      @Joet9  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Gerald ,
      Fractionated coconut oil is coconut oil that has gone through a distillation process to separate the lauric acid from the oil’s solid fats. Once separated, the solid fats are removed from the oil, causing it to remain in a liquid state at any temperature (unlike virgin coconut oil, which is solid at and below room temperature.) Yes, it’s also great. I do like the fats being in the oil and tend to use the solid coconut oil but fractionated works well too.

    • @JDP2393
      @JDP2393 9 месяцев назад +1

      Coconut oil can be too pore clogging for oily skin/acne prone people, or combination skin people. I had coconut oil in my beard butter and if any touched my skin I’d break out, once I stopped the coconut oil the breakouts stopped.
      So if that’s also you, fractionated coconut oil is the solution to that. It’s still an amazing moisturizer, just less comedogenic. Stays in oil form so you’d use it in oil instead of a butter.

    Hello, sir. I'm a Malaysian and my age is 18. My beard is kinda short and I want to know: Does apply coconut oil can thick my beard? How long does it take? And what other tips you can share to me to grow a long thick beard?

    • @Joet9
      @Joet9  3 года назад +3

      Hello Adib, Coconut oil helps in maintaining moisture and keeping it soft. Don't know if it necessarily thickens your beard but helps in maintaining a healthy beard. A lot of beard growth and thickness comes with time. A lot of the time the older you get the better the beard growth. Time is your friend while growing a beard. Not trimming is another key to having a longer beard. You can not trim to a long beard. Good luck and keep #growingsouth !

      Beards are pretty much genetic. You are 18,maybe 19 now and though some guys your age can grow a full beard at that age not all of us can. I am 41 and just started growing my first full beard for the first time maybe when I was 39 so I don't even know if I could have grown a full beard when I was younger. If you haven't already by now tried,I would grow it out 4-5 months and just see how it goes. You would know by then. Some places that don't look real full may fill in as the hair gets longer. Products like coconut oil and beard butter will make your beard look Fuller as my beard looks like crap without beard butter but great with it. I have never personally tried coconut oil but may get some and try it. Taking certain vitamins,exercise and eating healthy will help in beard growth. Time as well,you may not be able to grow a full beard at such a young age but in 5-10 years have a great beard. Some guys can't until they are in their late 30's -40's. They have beard vitamins that may help but if you don't want to pay them high prices they normally ask see what's in them and just take all the vitamins separately. Good luck.

    Until the first lockdown, I was pretty much clean shaving every day, but since then I've been going longer and longer between shaves, to the point that for the first time in my life, I've started letting my beard grow. The difficulty is that my beard hair is like thick, tough wire and in fact is so wiry that it's actually super uncomfortable, especially the moustache area and eventually it always gets to a point that I just can't cope with it anymore and shave it off. An example of how tough it is, is that wet shave razors tend to only last 2 or 3 shaves and then get too blunt, so have to be replaced. So anyway, fast forward to tonight and I was once again about to shave it off, but thought I'd have a quick search for any suggestions to try to sort it out, which is how I came across this video. I realise that part of the issue is that I've let it get super dry, but it occurred to me that I've got an unopened jar of pure virgin coconut oil in the cupboard, so might as well give it a go. Nothing to lose, right? So anyway, I've just had a shower and applied copious amounts directly after a quick towel dry. Not sure if it's going to work or not, since my beard hair is so coarse and dry, but I'll keep trying for a few days at least and see if it makes any difference for me. Fingers crossed.

    • @juddery
      @juddery Год назад +1

      So after just 24 hours and 3 overly generous applications of coconut oil, (overly generous amounts because I've let my beard hair get so ridiculously dry and I'm trying to reverse that quickly), I'm already feeling a difference. My beard hair is still really stiff and wirey, but it's no longer really uncomfortable and doesn't feel like it's going to pull my skin off when I touch it. One slight unforseen downside though is that I was awoken at around 3am this morning to find my cat licking my beard. Apparently she loves coconut oil too, lol. 🤣

      Just like the hairs on your head, shedding beard hair is completely natural. After growing a certain length, your beard hair will separate itself from the follicle naturally. A new hair strand will grow and push out the old hair out, which explains the shedding of your beard hair.
      20 - 30 hairs per day is normal.
      Be sure to get plenty of water. Drink drink drink Water helps with shedding and healthy hair.
      Hair breakage is a different subject. Making sure you are getting plenty to drink, exercise, eating healthy etc. etc.
