Just tried this on my 3.5 - 4 month beard, not done much for me unfortunately like other guys on here. I have salt and pepper beard, quite corse despite using dedicated beard shampoo/ conditioner, beard balm, beard oil, boar bristle brush etc. Must just be unlucky. Will try the coconut method again though in few weeks 👍

You can also you other methods of mixed oils and leave for 20 mins hot..no matter how just keep it hot for 20 mins...also try every week for a month and drink extra water per day in this time to see if your body has been laking water for beard health.

Could one do the same thing using their preferred beard balm or oil in place of the coconut oil?

I have been using coconut oil for many years but never quite the way you say here but I believe it will work. I went to a barber just a couple of days ago and had my beard trimmed for the first time professionally and he commented on how healthy my beard was. I'm going to do this procedure now, thank you so much.

George this is my favorite tip you've ever given. I tried this last night and it worked amazingly well. My six month beard felt SO WEIRD after taking the plastic off, all crunchy and strange. But after a cleanse and condition it really is so soft! Thanks for the tip. I have a reddish, very coarse, pretty curly beard, and this has been the best advice from you that I've taken!

Guys, after working the coconut oil into your beard and while you have the cap cover your whiskers, rub the oil from your hands onto the skin of your arms. As we get past 60, our skin starts drying up. This will help. And besides, you already have the oil in your hands. THANKS, GEORGE!

Alternative for sensitive skin: Great video and a tip that I will definitely follow, but with a different oil. Coconut oil is comedogenic, meaning it can clog pores causing blackheads and blemishes. The comedogenic rating scale goes from zero to five, with zero being the least comedogenic and five being the most comedogenic. Coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of four. Some other oils have a comedogenic rating of zero: hemp seed oil, argan oil, shea butter, sunflower seed oil. Thanks for the channel, great content!

Wow im so glad i found you. I've done the coconut oil thing twice already and cant wait for the next session..Because of you i wont shave my beard like i always do after 9 months to a year. Ever since i was a kid i wanted a zz top beard like yours and i get frustrated. Mine is kind of a slow grower but i can grow a full beard non the less. For some reason my chin grows slower than the rest. But im watching all your videos and think you're great. Thanks for all the tips and if you ever want to get rid of the old oil bottles and Baum cans im your man.lol i just like to collect things and ive found some awesome wood beard combs i love so thats my new thing to collect. I've been researching deeply in order to make my own oil. "Use Coconut Oil, and Shea Butter Oil" so many claim its the best for hair. BUT caution to those with dry, brittle, or kinky beard hair. Those two which help the women is very bad for men with dry hair. The 2 oils (above) will dry out your beard even more if yours is dry and brittle already and can cause temporary bear loss.!

I really need my beard to be at its fullest potential. My beard is about 10 inches, but i notice a lot of my underbeard seems to curl up back towards my neck which i think takes away a bit of its density at the bottom. I want the bottom to be more full and i just wonder how to permanently train the hair underneath to hang straight instead of curling back up towards my neck. Thank you again.

I try not to wash it daily, but sometimes it gets so dirty that I end up washing it daily if not every other day. For my particular beard I've used a apple cider vinegar cleanse and it works great. • @knarfzxc

I too often have a 'dusty beard' and I agree it's not good for you skin nor the follicles to wash too often. I find a rinse with warm shower water will suffice and I keep a spray bottle of white vinegar in the bathroom just in case more horsepower is needed.
About once a week I do a soap wash exclusively using Dr. Bronner's unscented Baby-Mild Castile liquid soap. About once per month I do the coconut deep heat condition. In general I try not to wash nor oil too much since oil attracts dust and dirt like a magnet and over washing does the same, our natural sebum works great on it's own and should be nurtured.
