    Is it possible to add cocoa powder to the gyuuhi dough to make the casing have a chocolate flavour like the filling too?

    Wow, I didn't know that mochi ice contains a different amount of sugar so that it does not freeze!

    I’ve found some that’s vegan in stores, but it’s so little choice in flavours, and never green tea ones that are vegan (I’m vegetarian, but no dairy due to lactose intolerance). To be fair, it’s difficult to find green tea ice cream in general where I live, much less non-dairy kind. LOL There are some flavours of non-dairy ice cream I enjoy that I think would be really interesting in mochi form, such as the Ben & Jerry’s brand Netflix and Chill’d flavour. I would also enjoy using frozen mashed banana instead of ice cream as a very basic and simple, but delicious alternative. I think fruit purées in general would be very good ice cream alternatives, especially in areas where it’s super difficult to find non-dairy ice cream. I’m also curious about frozen puréed veggies as an alternative. If/when I try that, I’ll be sure to share the results of the taste test! Having a palette toward veggies, I would probably like it even if it’s something the general populace wouldn’t care for.
