I love your channel Taiji. I miss my mother's cooking and am trying to get mine up to speed and thank you for helping me. Watching you enjoy the foods you make at the end is absolutely delightful! 😊
Hello Taiji, thanks for the video. I’ve always wanted to make one ever since I tasted my first mochi some years ago. You make the cooking process really easy. I’ll take your advice to substitute fruits in lieu of red bean paste. Cheers!
Thank you for sharing how to make this mochi. I tried I guess 3 times because I love the taste. But its to expensive in isetan here in Malaysia. Now I can make my own mochi👍😋
I tried doing it today, also with a more natural approach to the filling (Almond paste/Cream) But next time I'll be more brave with the starch... Should have listened to you Taiji... :'-) Thanks for the easy to follow & informative video as always!
Goodness ..I love mochi..it is a new kind of sweet to me and I like the fulfilling feeling of chewing the rice..but it can be a bit breath taking.. Here in London ITSU sells them and my preferred among the variety are full chocolate, or full mango (creams filled). I thought the iced one not to be original. Than they have flat mochi they call cakes..♡♡♡
do you mean cornstarch instead of tapioca starch, which I use in the video? then no, not at all. starch have very little flavor, if any anyways. but if you mean cornstarch instead of Mochiko/gluteneous rice flour, then it will not work.
I just plop the hot mochi onto the mochiko flour and then use a wet fork to separate a hot piece of mochi to the side; then place anko on top and then pull up the sides of the mochi to cover the anko. All of this is on the table surface. Finally pick up the filled ball and round it out and put it seam side down on a colored cupcake paper. You hardly handle it with your hand.
I love mochi and I want to make it. But I’m so confused about different versions on youtube (specially about the time of microwaving. And I think your version is traditional one. and also darker than we usually buy from supermarkets. But why? Thank you for making these oishi videos 😊
yes, as in the recipe. it have an effect of keeping it soft after a while. if you add more, then it prevents it from freezing, as in this video of Mochi ice cream: ruclips.net/video/STHO7bnbB1Y/видео.html

Can other bean pastes be used (ie: pinto or other red beans)?

How long does the mochi have to cook on a gas stove? Had some with ice cream in last week, so delicious! Just love your channel xx
no more than 1 min.
Have you made dango?? The sauce is important! I can’t make this because I didn’t pay attention and also Kabucha??
Can I use Thai gluten rice flour for mochi?

Its definitely not the traditional method for making mochi ( which is very time and labor intensive)
But its a simple variant that is easier to make
@@dj_koen1265 yes you’re right 🙈 I meant the simple and old version. Mean No ice cream and butter.
Ich habe keine Mikrowelle, geht es auch ohne?
du kannst einfach den rohe Teig im Pfanne oder Topf kochen.
Can you do chocolate daifuku
ill put it on the list!
Can we add sugar on the mochi it self? 😍😍😍
yes, as in the recipe. it have an effect of keeping it soft after a while.

Hello. Can i steam the mochi instead of cooking it into a microwave?
of course you can!
👏🌹
I don't have a microwave and I don't want to have one.
There are recipes on the internet for making mochi in the pan.
raw rice
You hardly handle it with your hands.
