I'm so grateful I discovered your channel! I've watched countless other videos and not one of them showed or told how long, if at all, to work the dough. I've made 3 batches of mochi, three different ways, and none of them were right. But I can tell your recipe is perfect! Thank you ❤
How did you manage to do it? I did steam it and it did not work. Then I used the microwave and got better but it still did not work. Did you work the dough for long?
@@15fosfoNot sure if this is your case, but you might have overcooked it. That gets me most of the time. Adding butter is also pretty crucial to making it more workable. Another thing is either like they’re saying work it a lot, or let it rest. I’m unsure if this is the same case, but letting flour based dough rest generally allows for gluten development to form and makes it stretchier. So maybe it’s similar with rice flour?
I have a question. What do u mean of cooked glutinous rice flour. You mean we should roast it on a pan. Or spread it on a tray & put it in the oven for a while. How do u make that think?
Hi I am so grateful for your recipe, just one question. I think I'm doing something wrong because when I try to pull the dough out, it sticks so much that half the dough is in the gloves? Thanks for your amazing video
Did you add the butter in? It helps making it less sticky and also more pliable. But if it’s still really sticky and not kneedable, it might mean you have to microwave it a bit more
tried doing this recipe, but it didn't turn out well cause the dough tasted like pure butter and my family kinda disliked it.. what else can i add so it doesnt taste like that?
Maybe you shouldn’t add anything, but remove butter instead :) Personally, it is the very first time I see a mochi recipe with butter in the mochi dough, which surprised me a lot. Glad I got someone like you in the comments sharing the experience. I guess you might try making the same recipe with the original mochi dough recipe. Best blog I have ever seen so far for original japanese recipes is Just One Cookbook. You might find a good one in there. Hope that helps :)
Yes you must make it with butter.. texture isn't right if you don't. As for milk you can use another liquid but it will not make milk mochi taste of course. I've made it with just strawberry juice instead and butter. Came out delicious
Thankyou so muchhhhh ❤ i wonder so many vds of other but couldn't satisfy but thats one vd explained every single word Thankyou 😅. im a research student and will research on it 😅😅

Marvellous to watch & copy (in a culinary way)♥. The only thing though, I couldn't use as you do, are these small forms, which you used to make the fillings. Are those any special cups or were you improvising, like I had to with egg cups?
You have to make it with glutinous rice flour if you want that stretchy mochi like texture, i tried it with regular rice flour the first time I tried making it and it did not work, it was like play dough 😂 You have to use glutinous rice flour x❤
You can stir flour in a pan on low/medium heat or bake in an oven 7-10 min 160C (stir occasionally, don't overbake). Let it cool completely & sift before use.
Beautiful, informative, and relaxing. Thank you.

How is your sweet rice flour in the end cooked ?
My dough won't turn solid, it's been an hour help
Did you microwave it in 30 second intervals?
Should come back and reply for the sake of others having the same problem. 😮💨
Stick it in the freezer, it'll go solid then
it’s been a month, is it a solid yet

Heyy, so at first I want to say that this is a very useful video but i wanted to ask how hot the microwave needs to be, like 750W? more? less?
من الأحسن وضعه في الميكوريف لمدة ٥ دقائق وأخراجه من جديد للتأكد من أن العجينة طرية ومتماسكة .
Yum
thank you ❤❤❤

These look delicious!❤
OOHH, that looks so YUMMY!
Nice
My moshi didnt dtop sticking to my hands any advice please?
Maybe put some of the rice flour on your hands.
Or cornstrach
I think you gotta use non stick gloves or put the glutinus rice flour on your hands to prevent the sticking
Use plastic gloves, it helps so much
Thank you for the recipe. How do you prepare the “cooked” glutious flour?
Это рисовая клейкая мука. Смешать с водой и сахаром. И на сковородке минут 10 варить, пока не станет как тесто.
@@natashik42how much flour and sugar and water?

Cook it on the pan till it turns off-white
some recipe use cornstarch to prevent sticky
