Thank you for this video! I have been waiting for it ;) I prefer mineral sunscreens because I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, but man it's hard to find a nice one here in Australia! I also recently heard that MCo Beauty released a mineral sunscreen, which some say is a dupe for the Ultraviolette one.

      @@AraG05 hey!
I’ve been trying the Bondi sands sunscreen for almost a week and there are my thoughts:
      • it’s a bit thicker than the Mecca one, but goes on lovely and sits under makeup well!
      • it’s not tinted, and on me (whiter than a ghost) there’s no white cast, take that with a grain of salt though.
      • it’s a ‘natural’ finish - it’s not at all matte.
      • it’s much cheaper than the Mecca one, it’s an spf 50, and it goes on sale!
      • it doesn’t seem to break me out or congest my skin, which is amazing.
Definitely recommend giving it a try! ☀️

Thank you for giving them a try! I've been using mineral sunscreen for decades. My favourite was Ilia Sheer Vivid, there were a lot of shades. The least drying one I have is Sun Bum tinted face mineral sunscreen. For more coverage I'll wear Australian Gold tinted, but it's drying. Paula's Choice wrinkle defense is super drying and pale, but workable.

I LOVE your honesty, I feel the same way about mineral sunscreens lol! I really appreciate your recommendations, I'm keen to try the 'Happy Days' product (if I can source it for a reasonable price from NZ)... I'm wondering what the Natio clear zinc mineral sunscreen is like; I'll give it a swatch next time I'm in Farmers... I think the 'invisible' zinc brand is a travesty! They say 'invisible' is a brand name, what if someone branded their cakes 'nut free' cake company but their cakes had nuts??? As you said, should be illegal lol

Girl, you introduced me to Naked Sundays mineral sunscreen. Forever in your debt. It's a bit darker on me than would be idea, but still better than walking around looking like a mime (I'm quite white, but not that white). People say they can't see it when I have it on but, as someone who doesn't wear makeup, I am simply not used to having anything on my skin that is remotely tinted. So I feel like it's very obvious. Still, best mineral sunscreen I've tried! Xx

I would rather use chemical sunscreen for white cast reason but chemical sunscreens causes massive breakouts for me! I have tried a lot of them so i am one of those that have no choice but to use mineral sunscreen. Naked sundays is my best Aussie mineral sunscreen so far, so I was happy to see it as the top choice. I am oily and acne prone and it blends well on my dark skin with no white cast whatsoever. Thank you for these helpful videos.

I think that zinc is best for those who do intense sports out in the sun or in the ocean especially under the Australian sun. Personally, I don't feel safe surfing without any zinc on as it stays on, is waterproof and prevents you from getting burned. However, like you have stated so well, it is not suited for daily wear if you are getting one of those basic zinc mineral sunscreens.

I’m dry combination sensitive and I can’t get on with mineral sunscreen at all as after a few hours they dry out my skin, but my daughter who is oily combination absolutely loves Invisible Zinc SPF 50+ Sheer Defence Tinted Moisturiser in shade medium, she wears it daily and said it is perfect as an everyday alternative to foundation, builds well with reapplying and gives a glow and sheer coverage to her skin, it’s her absolute holy grail sunscreen. It didn’t work for me at all, same drying effect on my skin, I use QV Face which is a hybrid sunscreen and although it contains zinc oxide it is really moisturising keeps
my skin dewy and hydrated and doesn’t sting my eyes, I apply on my eye lids and under my eyes (my dermatologist recommended this one) I find it really rich and soothing.

Hello, I bought Happy Days after watching your video. I really liked it - It made my skin so glowy and the tint meant I didn't even need to wear foundation! BUT after a week of using it I got BAD dermatitis all over my face. My skin barrier was wrecked, my skin was extremely tight, dry and flakey. It has been 2 weeks and I am just coming out the other side now. So just a warning for the girlies with sensitive skin.

UPDATE: Last week I tried out the Naked Sundays sunscreen and again developed dermatitis...! On the plus side Naked Sundays has great customer service and has offered me a refund. Unfortunately I have contacted Happy Days several times and am not getting a response. I'm not sure what these brands are putting in their sunscreens as physical sunscreens are meant to be ideal for people with sensitive skin.

Thank you so much for this video!! I can't wear chemical sunscreen as it really irritates the skin on my neck and around my eyes. I use a mineral sunscreen that has zinc oxide and titanium dioxide from Korea. I buy it on Amazon AU it's called " make p.r.e.m UV defense me Blue ray sunscreen" SPF50 ++++ . It's $42 for 70ml and more a lotion consistency, works beautifully under makeup ( 1/4 teaspoon for face and neck used). Another one I've bought on Amazon AU is "babo sheer daily face sunscreen" SPF 30 or 50 , can't remember. It is very zinc cream smelling, a bit funky but it does dissipate. Again 1/4 teaspoon used for face and neck and it took 10-15 minutes to dry down and lose the white cast but played well under foundation and the rest of my makeup. I will definitely be trying the Naked Sundays sunscreen!! Thanks again for a great video!

While I prefer chemical suncreens for the body, on my face I always find my face tends to feel like it's burning (and yes I do get a pinkish tone to my skin) within 2 hours of application. Mineral sunscreens for the face always work better for me, and they don't run when I get sweaty running after my kids or pool days. The best chemical sunscreen I loved was the Bondi Sands mentioned in pt 1 of your sunscreen review, but definitely stings my eyes and caused breakout on my face. I like Invisible Zinc Sheer Defence for my face, but I got it in light and it blended well with my skin (honestly can't tell I'm wearing it). But I also have oily t zone and prone to cystic acne around my jaw. My kids also like that Invisible Zinc doesn't sting their eyes in the pool.

Thank you for reviewing Mineral suncreen. I've tried so many chemical, physical & hybrid sunscreens, and Im still looking for that one 'hero' sunscreen product I would actually want to reach for in the morning and be excited to repurchase without having to force myself to put it on or make compromises w/ the makeup I wear.
I'm curious about the Naked Fridays SPF you reviewed, even though I have 4 different Japanese, Korean & European sunscreens coming this week: 1).Canmake Mermaid gel, 2).Beauty of Joseon, 3) Purito's Daily Go-To Sunscreen and 4) La Roche Posay Anthelios UV-MUNE 400- The Invisible Fluid. I have dry, sensitive skin and v sensitive eyelids/eyes, hence most chemical sunscreens (no matter how cosmetically elegant) either sting my eyes or dry my skin out.
Another thing I have to watch out for in the skincare ingredients list is the presence of HA (hyaluronic acid), Niacinamide and Vitamin C. These 3 ingredients are almost unavoidable now- it's almost as if they are present in every skincare product nowadays. My skin does not agree w/ these ingredients - all 3 irritate and dry out my skin. In clinical studies the scientists used 5% of niacinamide, but unfortunately, skincare companies do not have to disclose the percentage they put into their products, and w/ numerous skincare items one uses daily, it adds up pretty quickly.
My favorite sunscreens are DRMTLGY physical tinted moisturizer SPF44, Colorescience Sunforgettable Face Shield SPF50 PA++++, & Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation SPF 30 (when I want some coverage but running late, and don't have the time to liberally apply sunscreen and wait 15 mins for it to settle on my skin prior to applying my favorite foundation without disturbing the sunscreen). And finally a v surprising sunscreen discovery I had made a week ago, and since then Ive been using it daily, mainly because I can put it around my eyes without any stinging; it doesn't break me out; i don't feel like im wearing a sunscreen, & finally because it wears okay under makeup. The sunscreen is called Aveeno Continuous Protection Zinc Oxide Sensitive Skin Broad Spectrum SPF 50.
However, this aforementioned sunscreen only works for me at the moment because I'm pale. Once im even slightly tanner, I'm expecting it to leave some white cast. I'm guessing it's going to be my staple for the winter months.

I know you use the spoon for measurement but I feel like I would use up my product so fast if I used that much.

Hate when people complain about smells of products because it encourage companies to fill their products with perfumes and scents that are really bad for people with sensitive, eczema probe skin like myself. Thus is exactly why I can never find suncream and creams that Don t irritate me :(

Pretty much tried all of these, but my top pick would be from new day skin though as its more budget friendly more likely to be used often.

I've been thinking about purchasing the new day one too. How does it feel on the skin? Is it heavy, and do you feel greasy throughout the day?
      Sorry for so many questions.

@@farhanisha9446 It is heavier more like a balm moisturiser really cant expect more, starts off greasy but it settles once set. Get the good vibes as its less greasy.

I'm kind of annoyed at how Australian SPFs don't need to disclose their inactive ingredients. I break out badly from capric triglycerides and plenty of mineral SPFs have that as their base.

14:08 when you apply the sunscreen you also rub the "excess" between your hands, are you sure you still have 2mg/cm2 on your face, I mean a lot of the product intended for the face will actually end up on the hands this way..

Great video, thanks for your time making it 👍. Yes, the Sukin sunscreen smells (literally) DISGUSTING and I found it soooo greasy. Not a fan of Sukin anyway, ...'natural' isn't always good for skin. Awful!
I've just bought the Naked Sundays mineral sunscreen and I do really like it, will repurchase 👍👍🌞

The Woolworths Clear Zinc is actually pretty decent, and usually only $10 a bottle.

I use it on my son's eczema-prone skin, any chemical sunscreen makes him itch all day even the "sensitive" formulations. It rubs in pretty well. Haven't tried it on myself though. DO NOT try the Ego Sunsense invisible (or visible) - I love Ego products especially the QV range, and the Sunsense line has some decent chemical sunscreens, but both the ones I mentioned sit on the skin like the Zinc you see on the noses of cricket players 😆
