Underappreciated, hardly, I think it's overappreciated for the load of crap that it is, rough riding, terrible transmission, noisy, uncomfortable, overpriced.
No matter how old it is, how low tech (compared to the current “super car), how it doesn’t have a 20” touchscreen dash. I don’t care. I would buy it over anything. It’s an 10 years plus car, but it still talked about, even today. Correct me if I’m wrong, but What other cars have that history.

I had never been in a GTR until a few months ago when a friend and fellow Pantera owner took me on a long ride in his. When we got home, I informed my friend that it was the last time I would ever ride in that absolute piece of junk, ever and to not ask me again. I was stunned at how bad it rode, how unbelievably bad it shifted (felt like the transmission was disintergrating right below you), how bad the noise entering the cabin was, and how choppy the ride was. I was so shocked, I started reading old reviews of the GTR, and reviewers were so enamored with the performance parameters of the GTR, they all mentioned these demerits but didn't dwell on them. That Nissan could sell such a load of crap as unpolished and unrefined as it is, is astonishing. My 50 year old Pantera feels like a Rolls Royce in comparison, and I wouldn't trade my Jag XKR with 180,000 miles on it straight across for a GTR. What garbage!
I can build you a car for under 20k as fast if not faster just need a 12k transmission a v6 a couple of turbos, brimbo brakes light weight wheels and good tires also dyno! And possibly 700 pounds lighter! But if you want something built ready to go 92k is not bad but not good
I don't know about reasonably priced. The used ones are almost as much as the new ones which aren't that reasonably priced considering the lack of changes over the last 10 years. Even used, it costs tens of thousands more than a brand new GT350R, GT500 or C8...
@@OlJackBurton there are several used in the 60-80k range. The new ones are still a decent value considering performance. Nissan hasn’t changed it because it hasn’t really needed it. The GT R is in a unique space, far above a mustang as you mentioned. They simple don’t compete whatsoever. The corvette may, but the GT R is more unique with its sort of super car experience.

yes but let’s be realistic comparing it to other super/sport cars, esp for $120k, interior lacks a bunch design/tech wise. for ex the c8 corvette is about half as much and the interior is supercar-like. personally that’s one of the drawbacks for me in terms of purchasing one of these. but besides that yes the car is absolutely perfect as is 👍🏼
The car should cost A LOT less, for what you're getting. If Cadillac would've gave the 2nd gen CTS coupe the Lf3 from the ATS V, or just gave the CTSV coupe an AWD option we could've had a space coupe with all the same tech and luxury years ago for like 75k
Similar to the lexus isf... started off as a big contender with some flaws... over its production course, it got tweaks to bring it up to it's best version without changing power figures however. Now it has its engined tweaked into other lexus lineup, but the isf has not come back or been kept up with :/ yes I know not many can even afford or will buy the car brand new even the ones begging for car manufacturers to do this and that, but we still just want them to keep them thriving and evolving! Both gtr and isf still getting more tuners to produce kits that make em supercars at a fraction of the supercars' prices!
She's getting long in the years, but still a fantastic car. Hopefully Nissan gives it some love like they're doing all their cars. Another great review Joe.

Your excitement rivaled the QV! Which one do you prefer? There is something about AWD that just sells itself for such a car compared to RWD. I hear the GTR is very stiff compared to the QV DNA suspension.
For all the love you have for this car, and the thrills it brings you every time you get to drive and review one, i would have imagined you'd have added one to your collection by now.

I'm not sure that the GT-R has the capability to go slow. My only gripe is that they don't make a manual option for it, but this car is spot on.
