@@vansmakemedancevansmakemed8836 Has 42k miles. The only problem I have ever had was a stuck aftermarket fuel injector. But the car did have the well known transmission problem around 22k miles. But that was completely replaced for free under warranty. Since AMS Performance tuned it after I installed my Alpha 7 package. The car is a literal dream. There's some quirks and things that need attention. But they are small oversights and nothing I would ever deem a problem. Just minor annoyances that are rectifyable like the brake calipers missing a pin clip from the factory.

Hi, I had never watched a video that illustrated every detail of a GT-R and you got it done correctly. Nissan USA will be bringing back the R35 for 2023. I have owned 5 GTR R35s and I can admit that everything you report is correct. An area of opportunity that the Nissan GTR has are the brakes. The car is not aggressive at stops and just by changing the brake pads to one of better quality, the car improves braking by 20%. Nissan must create an R36 with the same engine but making improvements to the pistons, rods, turbines, intercooler and transmissions. We all know the weaknesses when the car is modified but with that R&D you they can create a car for the market that runs 9 seconds in the 1/4 mile and on the street and Nissan will eliminate the competition. What year gtr tho? Those r34 is my dream car but they got for well above the 100k mark used. And not everyone prefers jdm rhd as there are some cons to driving rhd in a lhd country.
@@sandunbaduge1742 because a R34 GTR is over $100k for a car that isn’t modern , has no creature comforts and will most likely require a complete refresh . Many of the older 90s JDM cars need lots of maintenance . Bushings all over are dried and cracked . I’ve owned a few older JDM cars , my profile picture is a Toyota mark 2 with a 1jz vvti and ordering parts other than performance are a headache from Japan. At least the R35 was sold here and many of the parts are available locally and the twin turbo v6 is easier to modify as well as tune.
I've had my 2012 Black Edition GTR for 7 years which sits in OEM collector status. Not a day goes by where I don't appreciate/admire the history, engineering, and style, even if it is outdated. The R35 can be many things: a daily grocery getter, an exciting street driving experience (R-R-R), or a track monster.

You can buy Corvette rotors and pads and save 50%. I have a friend that has a 2017 with $30K worth of engine upgrades and he's pushing just under 1k HP. very very fast car....if you can afford a used GTR, you can afford to redo the leather interior. But you're right. It's a beast...GODZILLA....I belong to a track club in Montreal and I get to drive Ferraris, Lambo Huracan Performante, Mercedes GT and Nissan GTR Nismo and I can tell you I love the GTR the most. You know why? Because it is so predictable and so easy to drive. It turns a regular driver in to a pro race car driver after only a few laps. If only my forearms and wrists would last longer.
R35 is still here for 2023. I have a 2021 cat delete FBO e85 that makes about 770hp. Going for bigger turbos and forged engine parts next to handle the boost. I will sell when R36 comes out. Great video bro

I have owned two R35's. First was a 2010 brand new and then a 2013 Brand new. I have moved on to a 2nd gen Audi R8. The GTR's were the tits when I had them. Still in my top 5 cars owned and I have owned many.
This is the thing about cars being offered with manuals, DCT's, or both. I'm a die hard manual guy, but I'm smart enough to understand which cars would be great cars with manuals, and which ones wouldn't. I've never driven the GTR, but I have driven a DCT McLaren MP4 12-C, which I would put in the same performance category as the R35 GTR. After driving the MP4 12-C for an entire day, I realized that it would be a very difficult car to drive fast if it was manual. The car is so fast and so capable, that you really do need both hands on the steering wheel at all times. I would imagine the R35 GTR is the same way. The majority of cars on the road, like the Mustang, Camaro, M3/4's, AMG's, RS's, CTR's, etc. are so normal in comparison to the GTR and other supercars, that they can be handled pretty easily with a manual transmission. So, I am glad that most of them are offered with manuals still, because they aren't even close to the same performance the GTR puts out, hence why they are easier to drive aggressively. So if you want a manual in these "regular" sports cars, the by all means get it. You will be happy. But if you want a DCT, then by all means get one too.
Price is to high right now, I bought a 2009 GTR in 2018 with 40,000 kms for 64k cad. 2009s now going for 70k and up 6 years later with double sometimes triple the mileage. Another weak point of these cars is the fuel system which overheats easily because it sits directly above the transmission. The transmission also shares the coolant from the engine radiator so the cooling system can be easily overwhelmed with FBO tuning. Still a beautiful car with huge potential. One of the great benefits of this car is the R&D that so many great aftermarket companies have put into it. You have hundreds of different ways you can build it, 1000hp reliable daily driver is very realistic, if you have the wallet for it. Also the transmission in the early models would eat up first gear due to tuning, you throw a cobb on there with LC5 maps and you wouldn't have any issues other than the basket pressure sensors which are known to fail with time since the gears spit hot transmission fluid straight onto them, all things that the master Shepard transmissions will solve for you.
Alhamdulillah in my experience owning nissan/infiniti, they are more reliable than the toyota/lexus. Especially when you take good care of your Nissan and Infiniti vehicle with service routine with good oil, good spare parts, good fuel and so on , insya Allah they are more-more reliable. 🙂👍👍
I don't care how old the GT-R is, it has aged really well, well, maybe not the inside, but I actually like the interior a lot, for that price range. Of course, $130,000 CAD is really expensive, and not a lot of people will think it's worth it, since it hasn't received any other major updates since that 2017 refresh, but honestly, I wouldn't buy anything else if I had that money. The true raw, analog feel you get with this car is what I love about it. The dual-clutch is sequential and mechanical, the engine startup is very mechanical, you can hear all the noises from the road, the steering feel is amazing, and it's refreshing to see such a sports car like this in today's day and age.
Exactly. Coming from an Audi RS3 fob e85, my GTR with the same mods is a whole different animal. The raw feeling of it combined with the hefty hydraulic steering makes the RS3 feel and drive so numb and artificial.
if you launch the 2009 gtr for 20 times straight then it will have a problem for sure, but me and my 5 friends have a 2009 GTR and we drag it on occassion, so far we never have any problems for the transmission. I have read on some website that the 2009 gtr transmission problems are overrated...
Dec 2007 R35 GTR from NZ (Did not come out in 2009) I have modified (air intakes, intake pipes, BOV, wastegate, full steel exhaust (thanks mom and pop place in USA) with cat delete, 12K Brake upgrade, Bell housing, TCM magnets but more importantly ECU and transmission software updates to 2020 - best mod ever - like a totally different car with a dyno over it). I have a cracked dash, tears in the leather and road rash. However my tuner (who wants my money) says there is nothing to add as a road car or track car (However for Targa, 1/4 mile, dyno ectengine, bigger turbos, Dodson's trans ect) You are so off the mark looking for the 0Km perfect R35 pristine with no mods for $200K and be destroyed by a car like mine, shame, 16yo car that is the same hardware (i've driven a 2019 NISMO on track). It was a bargain supercar "in the beginning". Now it's the same girl better makeup on and they drip feeding you power and BS to say it's worth $200K for a premium or $600K in Australia as a NISMO. You live once - drive your car, everyday, be safe and great clip
Im here to let you guys know, that its currently October 31st, 2024, and you can still custom build a brand new nissan r35 gtr on their site to this day. Also, they even have a new facelift as well for 2024. Not sure how long they'll keep it going but, just an update. (This is in the US. Not sure about other regions)
The kind of car you can push the pedal down in the straights and the corners. Easier to drive at the limit. I'm surprised other companies haven't made a direct competitor coupe AWD, Turbo V6, DCT Auto, 550+ hp around the same price.
It looks like I may be getting enough to buy something in the 100k range. Its coming between the viper and NSX and the GT-R. Pretty sure Imma go with this beauty.
There are more unmodified GT-Rs on the used market once price past $100k in 2017 (plus dealer markup). The higher price just attracts a different crowd after.
This is not the last Model they just came out with the 2023, same car slight refresh. Also the car debuted in December 2007 as a 2008 model not 2009. I'm only 30 seconds into the video so I'm sure there will be more
Im confused, first you say in 2010 it added HP and fixed the launch control…. Then you say most importantly it did this to the 2009 models? Did they just push a massive software update that fixed all models?
You can’t compete 0-60 between RWD and AWD cars… especially when Hellcat and GT500 are terrible in launching but they’re both are faster on a roll… C8 corvette is a different story, being able to launch very well being RWD thanks to mid engine.
I considered getting a GT-R cause I had a 2012 GT-R before but the prices they’re charging for used GT-R’s are too high for me and I wanted something faster so I went and traded my Model 3 Performance for a 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid and smiles ear to ear it’s so much fun
BMW m3/4 xdrive is pretty much a German GTR with better interior and faster than new GTR. On paper 0-60 is slower than GTR but in reality car and driver got 0-60 2.8s in the m4 xdrive and 3.0 in 4 door m3. But GTR was ahead of its time for sure.

I love the GTRs, literally my dream car, but you're comparing AWD 0-60 to RWD 0-60. The cars you listed were all RWD and of course the GTR will have a quicker 0-60 because of the AWD advantage.
I like this Nissan GTR car Nissan could have made a fancy rear back headlight this headlight is a kind of traditional look it's okay but this car looks really upscale with exterior and interior I think the interior seats have made of carbon bucket seats however I like infotainment screen steering wheels and all the four wheels drive and big trunk
The reprogrammed TCM blocked it after 4 consecutive attempts for the cooling off period. GTR has enough power to beat anyone without using Launch control and not make lots of sense to use Launch control but that would be most possibly a dangerous stunt. There are many issues related to Transmission.. i had "Clutch Temperature High" then car literally lost the power and started to slow down. List goes on.. but its an amazing car i owned GTR for 3 years and absolutely love it, the power, lighting fast launch and very predictable.
From what I gather, you shouldn't buy a used GTR. BUT, for the money, would it be wise to buy a 370Z Nismo and modify it with turbos to be nearly as fast?? Serious question.
I've owned a 370z and currently own a 2014 R35. My opinion. No. Save for the GT-R. It's hands down a better chassis, motor and transmission. The VQ is a trash motor especially when adding FI, whereas the VR is an insane motor with bolt ons and E85. With tuning can be done for under 12k$. The VQ would have to be built to reach the power levels the GT-R can easily make. And the 370 will probably never accelerate as hard as the R35 does.
You will always be considered a wanabe GTR with that setup. For the amount of money it costs to turbo the 370Z, and get the car's condition to handle that power reliably, and perform as it should with that extra power, you might as well just buy the AWD GTR.
The interior quality and tech is what has always let this car down. Frankly, I'd take a used Jaguar F-Type over a GTR despite it being slower. Both are AWD and can be winter driven with snow tires but at least the Jag has a much nicer interior.

Nissan are taking orders in the US for the 2023 GTR R35. There is no 2022 model available anywhere.
i love my gtr, i do have some mods, just fbo on 93oct, so its nothing crazy but still pretty damn fast for a daily lol

The kind of car you can push the pedal down in the straights and the corners. Easier to drive at the limit. I'm surprised other companies haven't made a direct competitor coupe AWD, Turbo V6, DCT Auto, 550+ hp around the same price.

There are more unmodified GT-Rs on the used market once price past $100k in 2017 (plus dealer markup). The higher price just attracts a different crowd after.

You can’t compete 0-60 between RWD and AWD cars… especially when Hellcat and GT500 are terrible in launching but they’re both are faster on a roll… C8 corvette is a different story, being able to launch very well being RWD thanks to mid engine.
You forget the gtr has a 3.8 V6. The ones you mentioned all have big displacement V8s. Don't be so butthurt.

BMW m3/4 xdrive is pretty much a German GTR with better interior and faster than new GTR. On paper 0-60 is slower than GTR but in reality car and driver got 0-60 2.8s in the m4 xdrive and 3.0 in 4 door m3. But GTR was ahead of its time for sure.

I love the GTRs, literally my dream car, but you're comparing AWD 0-60 to RWD 0-60. The cars you listed were all RWD and of course the GTR will have a quicker 0-60 because of the AWD advantage.
I just want that flash thing from men and black so i can completely wipe everyone's memory and make them forget about the gtr so I can get it cheaper.
I like this Nissan GTR car Nissan could have made a fancy rear back headlight this headlight is a kind of traditional look it's okay but this car looks really upscale with exterior and interior I think the interior seats have made of carbon bucket seats however I like infotainment screen steering wheels and all the four wheels drive and big trunk

The cars overall price used is still pretty high. So it's not so easily attainable.

The reprogrammed TCM blocked it after 4 consecutive attempts for the cooling off period. There was law suit that prevented Nissan from voiding the warranty for damages due to the Launch control. jalopnik.com/this-is-nissans-gt-r-launch-control-warranty-settlement-5565919 But again, what is the reason that someone need to use Launch Control in a public road except scenario like Drag.? GTR has enough power to beat anyone without using Launch control and not make lots of sense to use Launch control but that would be most possibly a dangerous stunt. There are many issues related to Transmission.. i had "Clutch Temperature High" then car literally lost the power and started to slow down. List goes on.. but its an amazing car i owned GTR for 3 years and absolutely love it, the power, lighting fast launch and very predictable.

From what I gather, you shouldn't buy a used GTR. BUT, for the money, would it be wise to buy a 370Z Nismo and modify it with turbos to be nearly as fast?? Serious question.
370z used is a great option can’t really go wrong with that
I've owned a 370z and currently own a 2014 R35. My opinion. No. Save for the GT-R. It's hands down a better chassis, motor and transmission. The VQ is a trash motor especially when adding FI, whereas the VR is an insane motor with bolt ons and E85. With tuning can be done for under 12k$. The VQ would have to be built to reach the power levels the GT-R can easily make. And the 370 will probably never accelerate as hard as the R35 does.
You will always be considered a wanabe GTR with that setup. For the amount of money it costs to turbo the 370Z, and get the car's condition to handle that power reliably, and perform as it should with that extra power, you might as well just buy the AWD GTR.

Nissan Z (350 / 370) are also pretty good and much cheaper than GTR
The interior quality and tech is what has always let this car down. Frankly, I'd take a used Jaguar F-Type over a GTR despite it being slower. Both are AWD and can be winter driven with snow tires but at least the Jag has a much nicer interior.
