    I used Meguiar's Hot Shine High Gloss Tire foam and it worked for a number of applications, but after a while, it works less and less and you can actually damage the bumper/trim surface over time and many applications (only lasts a few weeks at best) where it gets gritty and has swirls which can't be removed unless you repaint the bumpers.

      I would not use anything other than products specifically made for painted surfaces on painted surfaces.. All discussion in this video is about the textured black plastic, non-painted bumpers and fenders.

    This works great I’ve been using it for a few years now and it does not have that super shiny look it looks like brand new rich deep black

    I found an easier way is tape off around the fenders and buy some spray cans of satin Krylon fusion paint and I’ll stay that color ,mine been that color for six years now no grayish , 99 sport

    I'm a big fan of Mother's Back to Black. I prefer the spray over the cream. In addition to the bumpers and fenders, I use it on the hood latches, door handles, gas cap area, etc. I'll give the tire foam a try.

    Thanks for the tip, wasn’t too excited about the ArmorAll tire foam for fender flares, but that goes back to P.O. using plastic coat on them. BUT, it did wonders on my 6 year old BestTop! Looks brand new, kinda

    I also use the back to black on all of my black on my rubicon and am very pleased with the way they look afterwards. Also open my hood and use it on all of my hoses and otherwise items under the hood. sure get lots of compliments on how great under the hood looks.

    I've tried a lot of products, but they all seem to fade eventually. HOWEVER, I have a single drop from filling up the tank that hit the fender and it is black as night, even though the rest of the fender is graying. A light layer of gasoline as the solution?

    • @TheNotaRubicon
      @TheNotaRubicon  4 года назад

      I would think not.. aside from the obvious hazard, my guess is that it would not take long before the gasoline would start causing problems on the petroleum-based plastic fenders.

      heliezer gaxiola took my jeep today to hand wash 18$ wasted they did horible job. Inner fenders were muddy, did not clean my flares i ended up buying bottle of armor all foam did the trick. It kinda works like degreaser i sprayed under and inner flare sat there for few mins mud got loose just used water jet cleaned it good. Flares i let it sit for few sec and just wiped with cloth. One bottle lasted cleaned under carriage too.

    • @TheNotaRubicon
      @TheNotaRubicon  6 лет назад

      I've never had that issue with 303.. It sounds like you are putting on way too much and/or not fully/properly rubbing/buffing it out when applying.

    • @TheNotaRubicon

      we dont do much with the hard-top. occasionally we will rub it down with a mixture of water and ArmorAll which will make it look nice for a while. We mix it with water so it's not too oily/doesnt attract too much dust.

    Hey, thanks for the info. I've got a dark grey Jeep Patriot 2011 with black bumpers and trim which I have neglected for a long time and it has all faded to a dull grey now. I was thinking of just cleaning it up and trying regular old Armor All spray. Do you think that will give the same results as the tire foam spray you used??

    I wonder if a heat gun on a hot day would bring them back to black? I've seen a dodge caravan with faded step bumber and applying a heat gun on a hot day brings back the oils.. Not sure if its the same material though. Just an idea. :)

    • @TheNotaRubicon
      @TheNotaRubicon  6 лет назад +2

      A lot of people have reported success using a heat gun. When we tried it, it did bring back the black, but it also melted down the texture in a lot of spots and basically ruined it...
