- Today on the channel, we put TAC System SEAL through the Apex Detail Review Process! Seal is a water-based multipurpose protective dressing. SEAL leaves a satin finish to surfaces and is designed to protect and renew plastic, rubber seals, leather, tire, trim and engine bay plastics. Surfaces treated with SEAL will require less cleaning over time and will retain that new look.
TAC System Seal....
Use Code apexdetailyt19
SEAL restores the appearance of surfaces with a high grade UV and hydrophobic protection. SEAL reduces the rate of the material and surfaces oxidizing and leaves a satin gloss finish after applied. SEAL helps to prevent leather from cracking and premature wearing from dirt and stains. SEAL is non-greasy, non-alcoholic, and solvent free solution!

Which vehicle has the most plastic trim? Jeeps? Avalanches? I despise Them all!! :)
What do you think of solution finish? Also are you sponsored by tac systems?
@@henryfreeman6113 you obviously don't watch the videos. He has only recommended products he knows that work. He also recommended other brand items for different needs. If you had listened to his past videos, he mentions every time that he doesn't work for anyone, and not two car situations are the same! You have to evaluate them and see what is the right product and process to use!
Raj Dewan ok thanks I am fairly new here. I subbed in September. Did not watch every video
Solution finish is a stain or restorer, you dress it and protect it after you apply it. This other product is a sealer protectant not a restorer, it may restore plastic not severely faded for a few weeks or months before you need to re apply it.
@@henryfreeman6113 as u watch his vids u will see/learn that brian is the most black/white/unbiased detailing channel out there....he is on NO ONES payroll....90%+ of his reviews he pays for the product or a subscriber has sent it to him for his professional review. imho this is THE channel for the most knowledgeable and unbiased reviews of detailing products...as well as the know how on how to detail to perfection. enjoy - watch past vids - when u like the info presented....give him the thumbs up...and by all means hit the notification bell
There aren't many things more aesthetically pleasing than a perfectly uniform vinyl trim that just looks clean! I don't mean the artificially shiny look that appear as though it got dunked in sewing machine oil. There are a ton of products that will do that. Until the first wash (or sooner!). And I haven't come across many products that I didn't love, from TacSystems. So it isn't much of a surprise to me. Moonlight is absolutely fantastic! Another great Tac product!!!!
This was a fantastic tip. I used Moonlight on its own before getting into Winter last year and it was amazing to see how the plastic survived till Spring and I can tell you winter is bloody long in Finland from Nov- May. So yes a great combo. I will add SEAL to my combination now after this. Thanks Brian!
This is my favorite part of my customer details, and the first thing they notice. I'm going to give TAC a try!
I already have some moonlight. gonna order some of the seal. this is exactly what I need to do my wife's cx5. all the other stuff I've used just washes off and streaks. you're a life saver Brian.
That looks amazing. Tac has some amazing products. I've got a few products but I'll be ordering some more.
Thanks Brian can't wait till I get mine. So I can put it on my van
Very nice!! I like that its not to glossy.. its just right 👌🏼 I like the UV protection.. good for freshly polished headlights 🤔
This is what I have been looking for. Thanks Brian!
Moonlight is GREAT on trim... love it.
👍
Glad to know about Seal. Moonlight has been my go to for trim, just a miracle.
Awesome
Looks fantastic Brian wow. You can take the rest of the day off with pay of coarse for doing an outstanding job.
I need this for my Jeep! Thanks!!!
Great video Brian. I’ve been using Moonlight as a stand alone on plastic trim since your first video on it. Works great! Thanks for introducing these excellent products and techniques.
Thanks for the support and feedback. If you have time we would appreciate a review on the website to let others know!
Wow man, good job I'm subscribed, that combo works a treat! Been looking for a longer term fix on plastics for ages and don't like a lot of them. Gonna buy these when I run out of my 20 year old bottle of armorall. Yes, I'm that "experienced"!
Awesome man
I have been watching your videos now for 3 years and every advice, products I use from your advice have worked great thanks
I still like the QP stuff
Fantastic look. I am looking for a good plastic protectant. I will give it a try. Thanks for the demo.
great combo!!!another great video and product review good friend...
It looks real good..nice work.
Sold I picking some up TAC system seal thank you
Hey Brian, I definitely agree with you. There aren't many products out there for plastics I'm impressed with either. Tac System seems to work well from this video review. Solution Finish works well too. Keep up the great vids.
Both are fantastic products.
Thanks Brian. Great content as always. 👍☮️
Any updates on how it’s holding up
Looks damn good now! Impressive!
I'd welcome a comparison test of this vs. Lemon Pledge at full strength.
I just started using Lemon Pledge on my tires just to experiment with something different. I was shocked. Tires do no turn grey. They look great for a long time and no tire sling too.
I’ll Have to wait till my carpro pearl is empty, but I think all try this next, especially because I love moonlight and I’m trying harder to keep products in the same family as you say. Thanks Brian.
Amazing how much color contrast that is restored when the plastic trim looks the way it's intended to!
"Another" great video Brian. Please give CeraTrim from Last Coat a try. Doing my first application today. Pan was very impressed with it.
You and Pan have been like college professors for me in my detailing knowledge and growth. TY 👍
Pan doesn't give honest reviews anymore, he only does a review if the company pays him to do so. When you are hired to do a review, that review is bias.
I am a System X ceramic coatings certified installer and I requested that my rep reach out to Pan to see if he would be interested in doing a review on System X coatings, he said absolutely but the price is $1500. I no longer watch Pans content as it no longer feels genuine and honest.
Been using a Wolfgang product. But you have to buff it after use to make it so it doesn't grab dust.will try tac in the spring. Thanks Bryan. Jp in SD
Remember the 03 Pontiac Montana Mini van ? The whole bottom half of it was plastic from front to rear. Hated working on those things .
Just BUY this stuff! Clean good and apply! Come out better than new!
Looks great. I’ve been using TACsystem TireCoat topped with Beadmaker for the trim on my Escape. It produces a similar look. I need to pick up some Moonlight.
For the Escape plastic use white erase sponge dry, restores look & $1 for 2 sponges will last you the year & some!
Tough to find stuff that works well. And has a lasting affect. I despise tons of plastic externally on vehicles. But it has to be done. Shame more people just don’t do it more often.
ordered the sealer from Mason. sounds like a down to earth guy. when it comes in I'll treat my wife's CX-5
Hey! i love your video there is so much explanation, i have a bottle of tac system seal at home and not in your video and not even in the tac system website has not explained if you need to dry after use, or should you leave it be
IDK, I used black shoes dye to restore my wife's Wrangler plastic trim and it looks great.
Also,it didn't cost an arm and an ass to buy
Better than solution finish?!?
Well, how to keep this brief.... so call protectants are mainly water, glycol (antifreeze) and sand (silica). To make this combo work requires emulsification. Silica is holds mid level UV reflective values and is harmless. The emulsifier(s) and the glycol are the bad bits!
Glycol is used to maintain hydration or keep the surface wet. That old tire or faded trim look great when it rains... right? That's what protectants do...Temporary hydration of the substrate. Glycol is also neurotoxin SO bad idea on interiors. The emulsifier(s) will eventually breakdown any surface especially when it remains active due to the hydrating effect of the glycol.
Hands down the best product on the market to restore to black is Repel Mosquito spray. I use the pump style. One bottle does all fenders and bumpers.
This looks like a great mix. Can “Seal” be put under a ceramic coating, too? Will the coating still bond or are you better off just applying the coating directly to the plastic? Thanks Brian for the informative vid.
How does Tac compare to Solution Finish? I’ve got a Wrangler I use SF on and it lasts anywhere from 8-12 months. I know I’ll have different results due to weather and how many washes I do but just wandering if you’ve noticed Tac lasting longer than SF.
Many Newer cars have a plastic trim on the bottom of the bumpers and other areas. More time and work, hopefully charge more, or up sell prior fading or after fading.
As they say Brian, looks good as new! Hey…noticed while you were applying both coats, you didn’t have any of the paint masked off. Is this because you have superior steady hand, or does this stuff not leave any residue on the paint if you were to accidentally get some on the paint? Thx, love the videos!
Interestingly that wavy effect is the exposer of the manufacturing process. How the hot liquid plastic flows into the mold
Likes before video starts
Always
Brian do you prefer this over solution finish?
I'd like to see this compared to Solution Finish Black Trim Restorer. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Just received this combo after watching your video and did the rear end of my challenger this evening. Looks amazing.
But just reading on TacSystems website and seal is considered a concentrated product as they recommend diluting it with water.
Thoughts ?
Would Simple Green also be a good cleaner for plastic? Thx
Apply C4 on your black plastic and enjoy your trim looking new for years.
Beading & sheeting, please.
I have so many jeep wranglers here in Sarasota Florida.😢
I know it’s probably not your intention, but I think you have sold me on tac moonlight for trim and shinee wax for a possible replacement of beadmaker or oo7 as a drying aid gloss enhancer....👍🏻🇺🇸
Wow. This seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Brian, how does this combo compare to let’s say a stand alone like C4? Or even CeraTrim? My wife’s traverse is a littered By plastic trim and I was looking for a super solution
I would use black pearl gives a better finish & restores plastic much better than any thing else
Could this be used on the plastic of the roof and freedom panels as well?
What’s the moonlight durability like as it’s stacked and not on the plastic directly?
I would like to see a video reviewing the carpro CQuartz uk 3.0 with carpro gliss coating topper please!
Looking for the most effective application of gliss, Ive seen some videos getting less than desired results due to finicky application process. I would also like your opinions on this combo! Thanks!
Can I use an apc or degreaser to clean the plastics? And what dilution ratio do you suggest?
Where can you get this as it seems their website has been down for awhile
Can these products and technique be used on my Jeep’s hard top as well?
Great video. What about Polish Angel, Black Bond, in comparison to these two products.
Hi Bryan. Which one would you recommend between TAC SYSTEM + MOONLIGHT or Lithium Trim Serum ?
Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat is a very good product too.
What's better this or solution finish?
Hello Brian + Sissy, I can get Quartz Power Plus Ceramic Coating From TAC Systems here in Australia but I can't find TAC System SEAL any where here and this is starting to annoy me always missing out!!
Whay do you reccomend for jeeps that have the metal grills ? Such as I believe rubicons ? Its black and flat looking color
What do you recommend for Jeep Wrangler hardtops?
Thanks
What does it look like after 4 months during the summer months in Texas?
It looks like CarPro PERL. How would you compare it to that Brian? Thanks brother. Keep up the great work and the great videos
VERY similar.
Apex detail is a combination of a walking encyclopedia and consumer reports And by typing in keywords I'm sure that apex detail will have a video on what you're looking for .
Hi Brian! Thank you for the video. Would you recommend this product over Gyeon Trim?
Good question. Gyeon Trim is very good. If you have GT...keep using it.👍
Excellent! Tell me, was the Moonlight buffed afterwards? Do you think this would work OK using APC, CarPro Perl then Moonlight?
I did not buff. It does a grat gob self leveling on textured plastics. Not sure if Perl will play will with Moonlight.
Hi Brian,
Just ordered both of them from tac. Thanks for the code. I was actually really looking for something like this for my sisters Mercedes GLC300. It has plastic all around also. Thank you very much!
I also have one question, I have a Honda odyssey 2018, and lady hit her cart right into my real sliding door. At the time I let her go thinking it's just a scratch, but now it seems to be rusting. Any suggestions on how to fix that?
Thanks,
Raj
Thank you. If rusting, use iron remover, like iron zero to chemically clean area, then use por15 to neutralize the rust and get factory touch up paint to blend.
Yrs ago i owned 2 jeeps nothing lasted on that plastic tryed lots of things ,, wish i had this then 😂 great 👍🏻 product OllllO
What about gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer? Its a fantastic product...!?
is this better than PERL ?
Have you tried the Lithium brand of products? Sweet Project cars says their Trim Serum is the best product they have ever used on plastic & rubber
WOW that's a killer combo!
Do you wipe of Moonlight afterwards or is it ready to go if you get it on evenly?
It normally spreads itself out on textured trim...good to go.
If this will keep all that plastic looking new for the life of the Jeep, I’ll try it. But, you never mentioned using the product on the black plastic roof. Do you use something else for that?
Hey Brian great video. Question does this combination make those plastic nerf bars slippery to your shoes? Thanks again for all the great content.
Brian, I’d like to piggy back my question with Todd’s. How long does this hold up to foot traffic on the foot pads? Thanks for the valuable info.
I would stay away from anything you would step on...especially until it is fully cured.
Have you ever tried a heat gun to restore old or faded trim? Coating after the heat gun process has shown some good long term results for me.
I have used that on a seat belt lock assembly. Worked fine.👍
Brian what do you use for the top ( both hard and soft ) of the Wrangler ?
Moonlight.
52k baby!
Does seal alone hold up against washes and time ? Let say a few washes a least ?
I used SEAL quite a bit for interiors and trim. I like it. I do not recommend it on tires though. Even 1:1. Their Tire Coat is pretty amazing for tires.
Any preference between TAC SEAL or AngelWax Corona? Wondering which would last longer. Would make for a nice head to head.
They have a similar application and look...TAC will last a bit longer.
WOW👀😮 That really sealed the deal! Fantastically versatile product. Silky smooth to the touch. Thanks as always. apexdetailyt19 for the discount
Now I know what it can do. I'll definitely order some more goodies from you guys.
@@mattmerwin3842 appreciate that sir!
TAC System USA been using moonlight on plastic trim for awhile now, great product.
was nice talking on the phone today. will look out for my package. thanks again.
Where can I purchase this ?
Where can I buy these
Was wondering if you have tried cerakote trim coat? It’s a ceramic coating for trim, have not tried it but seen quite a few other videos testing it and says it works very well, better than other trim restorers.
I don't recommend it for Jeeps. Cerakote trim coat are great for small trims but Jeeps have lots of plastic areas to cover and it's texture plastic so getting a consistent coating is harder and most amateurs will screw up the job and make it look streaky. I regret doing mine with Cerkote because it actually remove the matte finish and gives it an oily shine that I don't like. Since it's cermamic coating, it's no going back, it's semi-permanent. I wish I had gone with using conditioner and sealant to preserve the matte finish.
I've always used Solution Finish topped with a good sealant. Jut make sure you wear gloves!
I love SF. I use when trim is REALLY faded.
And the cerakote trim ?
I noticed most of your banners in your shop are for pro products except Angelwax & Tac Systems, with all the retail products what makes you a fan of the Tac System line?
How does TAC compare with CG VRP? I know you've used VRP before. Also, is there any significance of price? I also use C4 Trim restorer. That is slightly high in cost, but it last for months. A great product.
www.tacsystemusa.com on sale!
Vrp went on well... but did not last long at all.
Hi Brian do you like this better then Black Diamond
I like moonlight and solution Finish the most...they all have their place in the detailing industry.
How can I get this product in Mexico? ... and can you use it on the top of the car as well?
Email me mason@tacsystemusa.com
Hey Brian, is there a product that can be sprayed on? I use back to black in a can on my challenger grill because it’s like a grid, it took me a long time to do it by hand once with a little brush lol and yes I’m that anal, I’d like to step up to a better product for exterior plastic
I thought you liked the solution finish for plastic and trim? Does this do a better job than the solution finish? Please let me know sir. I’ve already purchased the solution finish but it says in the instructions to wipe down with alcohol first. The tac system with the moonlight seams like it should last longer and be protected longer with the moonlight on top.
I use SF on devastated trim. For trim like this a different approach is take.
Apex Detail
Thanks for the fast response. I knew there was a difference between the two trims and both looked amazing when you were done. Down here in the Carolina’s, trim gets really faded out quickly.
Hey so I used just the moonlight on my jeeps fenders and the neighbors sprinklers got them all nest up and now it’s cured on there. It’s been a few weeks since then but any idea on how to correct them now? It looks terrible.
Do you often see vehicles back again to re-detail? If so do you take note of what you used and how well it's held up in real world use?
Yes. It is a huge part of my testing.
