He got so passionate watching this, I got so passionate watching him watch this, we both ended up crying like crazy people and it was fucking beautiful. That's the power of music.

This has got to be the best cover of all time. She is a Bluegrass/Country singer in Australia. She took a 20 year old rap song, tore it completely up, & made it her motherfucking own!!! I have just watched it a dozen times tonight, & each time I have got goosebumps & tears flowing. The anguish in this performance is on another level! Her early career mirrored Eminem's, which is why she chose this song. Has Marshall heard this??? Her father Bill Chambers on the slide guitar(used in blues & bluegrass)

When I first heard it, I thought damn she’s taking to long to slow. Once I heard the whole thing I was blown away. To the point I reckon the starts melancholy and slow pace is what makes that last parts anger and energy so impactful. Normally in songs I find swearing to be just thrown in to sound cool or bad. But here it feels like an exclamation point on what’s happening. Slim shady is a master writer and his song is an epic. But this is a sonic tapestry in kaseys hands.

Kasey is a master of storytelling, conveying lyrics and emotion! She is an icon in the Australian music industry, mostly for country and folk, but has her own style and is never afraid to delve into something outside the box. She is just getting better as she gets older. I really hope that Eminem has seen this and appreciates that his song and lyrics were re-imagined in such a spectacular way. I guess he has as he did give her permission to upload to Spotify etc. Would really like to hear what he thought about it though. Where else would you see banjo, pedal steel guitar and rock band together? Kasey started her solo commercial career around the same time as Eminem and she was a big fan of his music. Kasey spent lockdown playing around with some of her favourite songs and this version of Lose Yourself is the result. Brilliant! Kasey has spent her whole solo career bucking the constraints of the record companies and always gone her way. She made it to the top in Aussie music anyway with many awards, becoming the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient. BTW….how was that for breath and vocal control?
