Just to summarise, no I I'm not talking about Asap Rocky and yes Aesop Rock was an established artist well before Asap Rocky in case people for some reason think he "stole" the idea of his stage name somehow, as far as I know if anyone was inspired to adapt a similar name it was not Aesop. When listening to Aesop I recommend having the lyrics at hand and being prepared that even if you like a song on the first listen, it takes a long time to catch all of his clever little puns, metaphors and general wordplay. I have listened to his music more or less daily since I discovered him in maybe 2002 and I still find things I have missed or just take on a new meaning as I have changed a bit since then and relate to material in a different way haha. I find it really difficult to recommend songs to start with but I'd say for anyone who is completely new to his music, to get an idea of his style and talent maybe "None Shall Pass", as mentioned before, "Dorks" and maybe just to see a completely different side some more recent songs that are more of the story telling style "Long Legged Larry" or from his latest album "aggressive Steven". But not surprisingly with such a long career there are so many songs to choose from and its really down to personal preferences if you are more into his earlier music that was more intricate lyrically or songs from later and somewhat more recent albums like "Impossible Kid". You know, Ren‘s been break it down for a while. I don’t know. Prof too well but my understanding is he is the same way unfortunately Pain is what sells you know when it is not covered halftime he talked about pimping. His pain in the sales will rise like a pirate of the patch on his eye For years follow him for like 3 1/2 years and he just blew up in the last year when he released Hi Ren, where is in a wheelchair in a hospital award being wheeled around by a person and a bloody gown and a pig mask! Like that’s the shit it took for him to blow up! That’s sad but true! I mean he’s been making bangers for like seven or eight years when I found him like almost 4 years ago. I was like where have I been and I just chalked it up to him being from the UK. Also being independent less exposure, but he’s so talented. I guess eventually he was gonna blow up but his mid 30s and I just now started hearing about him too. He probably been making bangers for a long time as well. Anyway, I subscribe and check out some more of your reviews. I know you said you’re taking your channel a different direction. I don’t know what direction you were and before, but I guess I’m gonna find out.
