Trump was a horrible president and never should have been in office, but that ban was one of the very few GOOD things that he did.

I was a member for probably 10 years, Wayne's lavish spending and push for red flag laws caused me to drop my membership. Now I am a member of FPC and GOA. Those two organizations have had bigger wins in the past 2 years than I saw with the NRA for 10. The only thing one should involve themselves with when it comes to the NRA is the Friends of the NRA. All proceeds raised for that portion of the NRA goes back into the local community to fund gun ranges, education, youth events, and local law enforce. A few years back we bought patrol rifles and body armor for the local sheriff office that was forced to put that cost on the officers.

Many politicians on both sides were caving and a new AWB had already been introduced and was working it's way through the system and was all but set to pass. Then Trump did the whole "bumpstock deal" and all the other gun control bills fell apart and nothing further was passed. Stop being retarded.

Trump ordered the ban on bumpstocks to head off Congress getting involved with a new gun law. At that time, "rate of fire" would have been the big issue, and if Congress was to pass a law banning bumpstocks, which included limiting rates of fire, many other firearms could have been included in the ban. Trump had the foresight to handle the issue with a rule rather than with a much more restrictive law.
Too many people blame Trump for this dumb rule and sure ok "technically correct" is correct but he did the best he could to limit collateral damage to the 2A as a whole given the situation. Bumpstocks were an easy way to "do something" without actually doing anything.

Best part is they made the mistake of admitting semiautomatic rifles like AR15s as common usage and therefore any aSsAuLt RiFlE bans should be thrown out.
Execpt the bump stock enables fully automatic fire. Your finger isn't moving and the weapon cycles a reset as fast as it's able to, the semi auto excuse is now meaningless.

Hello Mike. Thanks for the update. I appreciate and respect what you do to educate us and keep us informed. Clarify or enlighten, what the actual purpose of the brace and bump stock was designed for. Am I wrong or missing something….one of the initial purposes was to better enable or better control the firearm if in the event someone is physically injured or unable to defend themselves? I watched TGC video about the bump stock. Excellent cut and dry explanation of the bump stock. I’m disabled and in a wheelchair, part time, I’m always studying and looking into ways of improving my means of defending myself; because, physically, I can’t win in a fist fight; and, I refuse to be outnumbered; in this world, as long as I am still breathing and physically capable, even with supportive devices like a bump stock or a brace. I may not ever own a bump stock; but, as I see it, how dare our government, NRA, ATF infringe on the ability of me being able to defend myself. If they're banned in your State, it's still in effect. So California, New York, among others it's still banned.

While I think bumpstocks are useless junk, it is still nice to see the supreme court tell the ATF they can't regulate a piece of plastic for when they get to the good stuff. I see this win as a bright future for the good stuff like pistol braces and unfinished lowers that they have tried to unlawfully regulate in recent years.

I grew up a gun-shooting, NRA , cub scout, farmers kid. A crack shot even at moving targets. But this has all gone beyond too far. THere's a difference between a law abiding gun owner and a gun nut.
