    So you call semi auto ar15s assault rifles and fully automatic assault rifles fully automatic ar15s. You guys are really working hard to conflate the two in order to make uninformed people not capable of distinguishing between the two, eh?
    This "discussion" about gun laws has been raging on for years. All the same arguments from the left are demonstrably incorrect or use emotion to push legislation. It's sad that so many people miss the entire point of the second amendment. If you ever need answers, our founding forefathers already gave them to us before we even asked the questions.

    • @allosaurusfragilis7782

      Wrongly naming the two is often used to discredit the gun control argument. Someone says assault rifles should be banned. The pro gun people reply, it wasnt an assault rifle. Then they say, see? These people are uninformed, they dont know what theyre talking about!
      This of course entirely and deliberately misses the point. 50 plus died. Whether by semi auto with bump stock or not....they all died. Same in orlando. Nobody outside military and law enforcement should be able to get that kind of firepower.. yes, theyll get them illegally. At least that makes it harder and may be noticed by police. Allosaurus Fragilis how about this. Make the punishments harsher for criminals. Not just talking about the bump stock. I'm talking about all gun related crimes. And as you said, criminals will find ways to subvert laws, so why punish law abiding citizens for the crimes of the tiny, tiny minority? Should we ban vehicles because of car deaths? Or ban alcohol because of domestic abuse and suicide?
      If you ban bump stocks, you can still build them yourself with 3d printers or even a piece of wood and nails

    • @allosaurusfragilis7782
      @allosaurusfragilis7782 7 лет назад +2

      JaWBReaKeR 707 yep, id agree with that. Really harsh penalties. Trouble is, many of these mass shooters intend it as their final act. Also you have a prison overpopulation problem. Its not easy. Im just saying, doing nothing will definitely not help. Seems to be yet another divisive issue. Surely everyone, bar psychos, wants fewer deaths though? Banning all guns is not going to happen.
      Better checks, big increase in mental health spending, banning semi auto rifles and stiffer penalties. Waiting period and enforce no fly and terrorist watch lists for purchasing. Any of those would be a start.

    • @steventatlock5443
      @steventatlock5443 7 лет назад +8

      They're all AR-15 pattern rifles. The M-16/4 is a military designation and has nothing to do with firing capability (the A1-4 suffixes do, however). Most of the AR15 pattern rifles that the military uses aren't fully automatic anyway (they're 3 round burst). There's no conflating to be done. Every gun the guy had in the video was an AR-15. M-16s and M-4s are, get this, AR-15s. Talk about uninformed..
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Colt_AR-15_variants
      As for Allosaurus, you should check out some of the attacks that have taken place in Europe using only rental vehicles. One had a death toll higher than 100 people. According to your logic, no one should be able to rent a U-haul. How about instead of banning anything scary, the government invest in it's citizenry and brings back free mental health care, or, call me crazy, universal health care for everyone. Lifetime free health care is good enough for everyone in Congress, just not us peasants. Strange.
      Harsher punishments regarding a piece of plastic are also backwards ideas. Murder is already illegal and what does a guy who plans to kill people and then himself care about a harsh punishment? The guns aren't the problem, the people are. Banning a piece of plastic will solve all our problems though, as long as the rich don't see increased taxes or a loss in profit from everyone having access to health care.

    During the Las Vegas shooting Stephen Paddock supposedly expent 3000+ rounds of ammunition over the course of ten minutes from 27 AR-15's with bumpstocks despite the facts that it would have required him to drop a gun after each 30 round magazine was empty, even though videos from survivors show that it was a nonstop stream of ammunition with a firing rate much higher than a bumpstock is capable of producing from multiple locations that appear to be M240 LMG's. More interesting is the fact that after the FBI took over the investigation, his house somehow burned down with all of the evidence, and photos of the hotel room he shot from only show 50 spent shells. Years later we still have no motivation, and there was strangely no follow up on the biggest mass shooting in US history. Most confusing is that the day after his brother had numerous press interviews where he claimed it made no sense, he was arrested for possessing several hundred terabytes of child porn on a 20 year old computer running Windows 95, at least according to the photos taken by the FBI.

Jerry Miculek can shoot a semi almost as fast as a bump stock. It's the person not the tool. The speed a semi shoots is only determined by the shooter and the mechanics of the firearm. All a bump stock does is make a firearm shoot as fast as the mechanics of firearm.

      I understand what you're saying, but I urge you to watch a few videos of bump stocks in action.
      They're inconsistent, irregular and impossible to skillfully control.
      The gunfire in all the videos is constant, no jamming, no hiccups; to achieve that level of precision from a bump stock is unlikely, even in an environment where stress isn't a factor.
      Look at Hickok45, for example, he's clearly a man who knows more than the average person about firearms, yet even he had trouble unloading magazines with the bump stock.
      This whole event is so bizarre, for a man who planned as much as we're led to believe, why would he opt for a bump stock, especially when money was no limitation?
      He could clearly afford a fully automatic weapon.
      Personally, I do think you're onto something; the gun that's being used in the video's, sounds like it has a slow rate of fire, but it's too consistent to be bump fire; he probably internally modified a few guns to be fully automatic.

    @FlyingTigersKMT 4 года назад

    Slight technicality... The bump stock DOES NOT increase rate of fire of the firearm. The rate of fire is fixed for a firearm by its design which then is approximated to round per minute. The AR-15, if full automatic, has a cyclic rate of 650rpm or so. The bump stock does not make it go faster than 650rpm. It can take it up to 650rpm, but most likely not, as using bump fire still does not fully replicate a real mechanically shot firearm, it will be slower. The bump stock just allows a shooter to not have to keep pulling the trigger that fast to get up to a high firing rate, but don't forget, when bump firing, you spray a lot of bullets with very little accuracy.
    The LV shooter could have inflicted a lot more casualties if he used semiautomatic fire and actually aimed his shots.

    Infringe means to limit or encroach upon. So why is there a limit on keeping and bearing full autos? Also, why is there a limit on concealed carry? You have to pay extra money for permits. What about a poor person who's life is under threat by a cartel group and can't afford a permit? If someone lent him/her a gun but can't actually carry it loaded because of a limit of money? Same for full autos, a cartel has full autos, so they can outgun a family just because the government employees make them go through limiting time and money loops. The 2nd amendment is an addition to the U.S. Constitution by the founding fathers, so why do they break their oaths to it?
    It's too bad those country folk didn't bring their scoped 308's into the concert, they would have been hunting the perpetrator(s).

    Why are we focused on whether a gun can fire full auto or not? Full auto doesn't make the gun any better, you sacrifice accuracy and wast ammunition. Semi auto conserves ammo and creates more deliberate aim. Military's have realized this in the past with guns like the Soviet SVT-40 that used to fire full auto, but they realized it was not as effective as semi-auto, so they ordered troops to stop using the full auto mode, and redesigned the rifle with out it.
    We're getting focused on the wrong things here

      Even the AK-47 slams into semi rather than auto

    It does not increase the firing rate!!!! It increases the speed of which the trigger is pulled for each bullet to be fired.
