- After a long period of not posting anything, here is concept theme for Anjanath and his variants.

This composition was inspired by a few aspects revolving around Anjanath. His main feature being his massive jaws, I tried to create a "chomp chomp" and clamping jaw motif throughout the track. I found his snorting also quite characteristic, and the blowing war horns seemed quite appropriate. If you listen closely, you'll hear some sort of snarl effect that recalls Anjanath's big ol' nostrils (or his sneeze-like flame spitting).
Otherwise, words that came to mind were prehistoric, tribal, large and brutal. Not too dangerous, but definitely one of the first scary fights for some hunters.

Forget area themes, every monster needs their own theme now. Definitely need to work for Capcom with music like this. It suits Anjanath so well!

Honestly, with the huge catalog of music they have, they could at least give older locale themes to the more notable monsters (like MHFU desert for Diablos, Deserted Island for Lagiacrus, etc.). A lot of locale themes are named after specific monsters anyways. "Crimson Horn" is a direct reference to Monoblos.
As for new themes, I still prefer quality over quantity. Still sucks that Rise didn't have any medium monster themes, especially after World gave one to every locale (yes, they're pretty much just weaker large monster themes, but they were still cool and helped transition the player into stronger and stronger foes instead of having Great Izuchi have a theme with equal power to Rathalos).

Anjanath wasthe monster that sold me on MH World, just such a nice fantasy T-rex monster with so much personality. Him stomping all over my hunting group as we gamely threw ourselves at him before we even hunted a great Jagras... I love his snarling, guttural noises and lumbering presence. This composition captures so much of his stomping belligerence and Jurassic presence. Love it.

at first i thought your themes are TOO strong... but then i remembered something we kind of lost
MH monster themes used to cheer for the monster and showcasing its power same with the gameplay
now with us gaining more powers monsters got less threatening and the music is a little calmer but yours is like us going back into how it used to be but turned up to 11 amazing work
Thanks! My themes are generally a bit much (I treat each monster like a big deal) but it’s more entertaining as a listening experience, and I get more freedom as a composer. But ya, I tend to go too big. :)
Yeah, I really miss the older gen 1/2 style of music. Over time I've found myself listening less and less to the newer music and more to the old themes (also Frontier, love Frontier music). I think its partially that monstruous and imposing feel, but I think its also something to do with the instrumentation. New music just feels TOO clean while the old music is much more raw and noisy. Not sure how to describe it.

Exquisite work. This piece really captures the personality of Anjanath: belligerent and brutish, yet majestic in their own right and place in the ancient forest.

just wanted to comment again because this is so good, I particularly like the section at 0:25-0:47 because it feels both weirdly in character for anjanath as well as oddly addicting to listen to. I know they fixed the issue in Iceborne, but Base World's music was okay compared to other games. I found Base World's soundtrack carried by rotten vale, kulve and the S P I K Y B O I . If we had themes like this in Base World I would've liked the overall soundtrack better. Again, not to say World's soundtrack sucked, its still a great soundtrack (personally thought xenojivva's themes were good and deserve more love, and gog forbid I sorta liked Zorah's theme (if only zorah didnt suck to fight)), just found the stuff they did in Iceborne as well as other titles had more bangers in them.

Great to see you're back to composing fan themes again! Ancient Forest will forever be tied to Anjanath for me, but this is still excellent and definitely did him justice. It really makes him feel very imposing and powerful and lives up to his encroaching nature as the one getting in the way of the Guild's operations during the first half of Low Rank. The Astrea-like sounds at the beginning definitely add to this as well and really amplify the interfering nature. Then, the ending starting from 1:54 gives a heroic end to this antagonist story, as though you are finally triumphing over an old bully (and new players would probably already be dead before hearing this part XD).
Also, I really love the jungle aesthetic. Might want to use this for some fan monster concepts I have. Is there anyway to download your music? Would also love to listen to these when I don't have access to internet too.
I love how you managed to this perfectly captures how mighty and dangerous this sounds, perfectly like anjanath. I also love how some sections have this foresty feel to them, basically making it feel like is just anjanath hanging around the ancient forest. 10/10

This fits both versions of Anjanath very well(Regular more than fulger), I think this is the definitive theme for them since they most likely won't get an official one from Capcom, but I'm fine with that cause of this banger.
