Some of ya'll came here with the intention of wanting to misunderstand Ms. Figaro's message. She knows the president can't move on his own, she literally said that Joe Biden knew he had to run things by congress, etc yet he still made these promises. With anything that one wants to change, better words would be "I will try" or " I will work towards". Most of these politicians say, "I will" because they know that those words will likely secure your vote and that needs to stop. Open your ears and clip your emotions. That is all. Salute to my former employer miss tez Figaro. The allied group provided major opportunity for us in our own community to see some beautiful things and get paid as well as garner the experience to succeed elsewhere. She held us accountable to the utmost and we grew to respect ourselves more as a staff because she put that battery in my back as a young man to have confidence in the workplace as a young BLACK MAN. Although I don't agree with Ms. Figaro some times, she is correct about where the POWER LIES. The local elections are the most important. That's why Trump folks are pressing to get their people in these local positions. It's not time to stay home.

Local elections and local politics. The things that impact your daily life are decided locally. My local city council district has a population of 90k, but no more than 10 of us show up every month for the council hearings. I'm able to get a lot of the things that I want done because I'm one of only a few people who show up every month to make demands. If we don't show up, the enemy (the developer, the rich person, the racist) is being listened to without any counterargument. We have to be involved in local politics, because the enemy is very involved there.

When you have a party that won't vote for getting baby formula to families faster or remove price gouging on high gas prices, how do you think that Biden will be able to get any kind of progress through. I want to say, just vote, but in reality you need to vote not just Dems or Repubs, but Dems/Repubs who don't accept money from corporations or lobbyists. Only when that happens they'll begin to detach themselves from money and we'll get our system in order.

Biden knew about the baby formula shortage months before it became dire and did nothing. His staffers didn’t tell him for a month when they knew as well. He’s reactive not proactive. And he and am his admin don’t think outside the box . He doesn’t go out of his way to solve things. People compared him to FDR but FDR was innovative, creative, proactive and reactive and did whatever it took. We could buy the baby formula from other countries but they won’t do it. Biden could call out the corps for their price gouging, the power of the bully pulpit. He’s the most powerful person in the world and continues to say and do nothing.

it's bothersome how ignorant Charlamagne and Envy are when it comes to politics and Washington yet have some of the strongest opinions about politics and Washington.
They ask questions so that all listeners can understand. It’s about capturing all age groups of people on the air. They aren’t ignorant. They try to ask questions the public wants to ask.
I agree!! Charlamagne and Envy do not read nor keep up with the news. I guess that's the privilege of having $$ and not being directly impacted by many of the laws that impact everyday people. It's concerning that the people who are impacted fall into the seduction of their opinions. Not voting on the federal AND local levels has never been good for Black people. Hello? I heard someone else say something similar. As a BW I completely agree with getting at peoples pockets. I truly believe if more black people started getting million dollar life insurance policies, the laws will change damn near overnight. The individual people may not have the power, and marching ain't doing it. But let these multi-million dollar insurance companies have to pay out 100 million dollar policies, they will lean on the administration to get laws to change.

I was nervous she was another talking head. When she brought up the tape Biden told the "black leaders" he ain't doing ish. She got my attention. It's amazing how no major news network covered that. Imagine Trump meeting with "black leaders" and basically saying I ain't doing ish for yall. It would of been headlining news til this day.

I feel as black people, we should come together, put up 50-100 of our best and brightest lawyers, economist, futurists, and politicians... raise $500M (we're worth multiple trillions, in theory it should take nothing to raise this), pay these people for a few years and have them work on our issues. Other cultures and races come together like the LBGT community, the Hispanic community, the Jewish community, raise money put their best and brightest forth, have them work on the issues and they get laws changed, and created. Let's get a list of 50 things we need to survive, and aim to get at least 20 laws change and/or created (that's 40%, and in contrast under Obama the LBGT community got 4 laws created under Obama, so 20 may be a long shot but u get the point). We should stop voting democrat or republican, and just vote for whoever leans your interest. Party loyalty is detrimental to our health as a people long term. We also need to back the politicians for us financially, and get contracts made so we can hold them accountable when they don't do what they say they're going to. I know what I'm asking is a tall task, but it seems to be the best I can come up with.

the problem is, black people are tied together by skin colour and racism, not by common interests. All other interest groups are actually tied together by common interests, Jewish (Israel, Judaism, Jewish line), Lgbt (same sex relationships, marriage rights), Hispanics (language, culture, immigration). Black people aren't the same the way other interest groups are the same. They are united by oppression, not by anything, positive. So it's hard to get everyone on board, on the same boat, and to trust each other. So many conflicts of interest.

Great interview, she’s always called balls and strikes no matter the political party. It would be refreshing to hear the host using their platform to educate their listeners. Charla comes across as negative whenever politics is being discussed. The bottom line is people have to get Engaged and stay engaged to affect change at all levels of government. Change the tone and let’s keep encouraging the change that most of the population want to see.
I don’t know much about this woman, but CTG doesn’t really know anything about politics. That is probably the reason he always seems negative because it’s hard not to be negative when you just are ignorant of what is actually going on.

8:15 As someone who's worked in government on the state and local level, I will say... this is facts. Understand that person who gets on the school board and builds name ID is more likely to get called up by "the powers that be" to be on city council in a few years, then possibly mayor, then state assembly member, state senator, U.S. rep, etc. That's the pathway. The person who holds a "small" role today could be very influential in a decade or two. People wanna run for the U.S. Senate off the rip without having built the network of supporters/donors that the person who started off as dog catcher has been building for YEARS. That's not impossible, but it's rare. You can't just wake up one day and get your name on the ballot.
