I’ve NEVER watched an interview on the Breakfast Club from start to finish, holding on to EVERY second. This was THE best interview on this show and thank you for giving them their flowers. ❤
FACTS! So dope to grow up in the 80's/90's to witness greatness & still see them so appreciated!💘 Wish they would do a spinoff now. Wishful thinking, put it out there in the universe ppl!!!!!
It’s official. If Jasmine Guy ever decides to do a podcast I’m definitely tuning in. She’s hilarious and intelligent at the same time and probably has stories for days.
Debbie Allen took such good care of that young cast. Having them add to their contracts that they would get a chance write and direct episodes. She made sure those young actors walked away with additional marketable skills. She showed them they could contribute as artists to other aspects production. What a force she is!
Debbie brought black excellence to A Different World.. she brought blackness to the show without making it ghetto or ratchet. Debbie Allen knew the assignment before anyone else knew.. and as a 30 year old black woman.. a viewer… I can appreciate that!
Jasmine Guy being UNBOTHERED, tipsy, and letting them HAVE IT is my new favorite energy!!! This made me love her even more, if that was possible! And she looks so good! And Kadeem is adorable as usual! I am so glad we have this gem of an interview. Breakfast Club interviews usually annoy me, but letting Jasmine & Kadeem roll with it was the best possible choice. 🥰
She's giving favorite Auntie, best friend's mama and I LOVE IT. Charlemagne still found a way to get on my nerves. I caught him more than once trying to "devils advocate" her truth and I wanted to fight
@@bmarie1001 Agreed. At 33:40 when Jasmine was talking about the time slots, it was like her point went completely over his head 🙄🙄. Like, what are you talking about?? Only to backpedal and agree when she talked about being divided. If you knew that, then why question what was at play when she first said it? 🤔🤷🏽♀️
As you can see they are forever T.V. Husband and Wife!! Watch it again and you'll see what I mean; from her gently interrupting him to him nodding in approval every time she made a valid point! We love them both as a tv couple and as beautiful separate human beings! Its a different world!
HUGE shout out to Debbie Allen for holding it all down and making space for those around her to shine & grow! Also, I LOVED the relationship between Whitley and mother in law played by Patti Labelle. Those 2 together were straight hilarity!!😂
This literally made me appreciate them all of the more! It just goes so much deeper now! Debbie Allen kept it 100% when she got there! I love them all so much more! They all deserve their flowers
Jasmine Guy is still so enlightening, engaging and refreshing. She needs her own podcast or show. I’d tune in every day. I also never knew she had such a sense of humor.
Jasmine Guy is gorgeously authentic and as real as they come. Debbie Allen is also the real deal. My best friend's daughter had ADHD at age 7 and couldn't sit still. She enrolled her in every kind of sport to try to harness her energy. One Thanksgiving I took her to see a children's musical. All she did was spin and dance and try to jump on the stage. Later I told her mother she should enroll her in dance classes. My friend took her to Ms. Allen's dance academy. Four years later the kid was touring as the lead in The Lion King and under contract with Disney.
Kadeem's, "Dwayne" was the first real smart, nerdy character that I could relate to, who became "That Dude" aka Cool. Then Steve Urkel aka Stephon came later hahaha.
I was maybe 6 or 7 when I first watched an episode in like 97-98 and I loved this show super young but I love every character and the chemistry was top tier
@@GantzIsSloppy right? Nowadays we mostly get interviews with the R Kellys and all the cringe worthy reality tv stars etc. Good to see a sit down with two iconic and intelligent class acts we all grew up with and paid proper adoration and respect.
....And it was! As you can see they are forever T.V. Husband and Wife!! Watch it again and you'll see what I mean; from her gently interrupting him to him nodding in approval every time she made a valid point! We love them both as a tv couple and as beautiful separate human beings! Its a different world!
Kadeem is a legend. His sneaker game back in the day was unmatched. He's a real sneakerhead. In any TV show or movie, he was in his kicks were on point. This guy should be on Complex sneaker episode. He's one of the dudes that made me start collecting sneakers. No hypebeast shit. When I saw White Men Can't Jump, he had on the Infared Jordan 6. As a kid, I was instantly sold. I begged my pops for those shoes. In Spike Lee's School Daze he was rocking the Jordan 2's. Mannnnn they were too clean. This dude is a pioneer along with Will Smith with the sneakers. A different world was a classic. Great times when that show aired.
I didn’t know Jasmine was so down to earth. When Kadeem was explaining the wedding crashing scene I still got chills just listening to him. We rooted for that love! #90show #Cosbys, #DifferentWorld, #227, #Martin, #NYUndercover, #LivingSingle, #FreshPrince #SistertoSister #FamilyMatters, #InLivingColor, #TheParkers, #Moesha #SteveHarveyShow #JamieFoxShow etc.
I utilized jasmines character as a role model for my 2 interracial daughters to show that they could be anything that they wanted to be. Ones a attorney, the other one is a real estate mogul!
Debbie Allen truly turned the show around after season one and took a deeper dive into character development. A Different World is apart of the fabric of many of our childhoods/young adulthoods. I will forever appreciate what this show and its characters did for the culture. (Although Jasmine thought that Whitley was over dressed, it just seemed like a rich, snobby southern belle was supposed to dress like that. 😆)
When Dwayne crashed the wedding, that was my fantasy. I never miss that episode! I waited at my wedding but my love never came to get me. Sometimes u try to move on but your heart does not.
So true!!!! I didn’t start watching this show until like 98, 99 growing up every time it came on I watched it even now in this generation kids are discovering the show and loving it
THIS JASMINE GUY IS AN ENTIRE VIBE.... She is really apart of the Black Revolution, very underrated. In fact it was interesting to know how the cast was mistreat underrecognized. Such a powerful sitcom for the culture. They were left out of Hollywood, disrespected. I'm not surprised, but glad they were because our most powerful stories and experiences are left out of Hollywood. These shows that our left out are often OUR most PRIZED gift to our communities. Thank you A Different World, I chose Clark Atlanta University because of ALL OF YOU!!
I love how real Jasmine Guy is, she is always all of herself. This show has left such a legacy that has never been replicated, I'm so glad to have experienced it firsthand. And Debbie Allen is a whole force. I love what she did for them.
Debbie Allen & Jasmine Guy are the definitions of strong, black women.Accomplished, talented, lovely personalities, know how to talk to people,to get the results they want.No boss chicks, the type of woman any man would kill for.
Jasmine Guy is just naturally funny and always to the point. This was one of the most candid and entertaining backstage interviews I have heard from any celebrity. She is always that way. Debbie Allen is phenomenal as well. The whole cast and crew really changed the face of television with this show!
This is, by far, one of the best episodes of the Breakfast Club. Extremely informative and a real eye-opener. It is heartbreaking to learn that none of the cast was ever invited to the Emmys [to present], never nominated.
You know the funniest thing, when they asked Jasmine how much of Whitely was her. All I could think was just like her character, poor Dwayne still can’t get a word in. 😅😅
@@lynettegreene3529 Love that! Glad you got to experience it. Thank you for the positive affirmations.. all the best to you and yours also Empress.. take care of yourself.
The fact that Jasmine and Kadeem did their own intimacy coaching, (which is very commonplace on today's movie sets) where he deferred to her and waited for permission is commendable and indicative of the kind of human he is...particularly in a male dominated and driven industry. Well done Kadeem!!
@@manuellubian5709 An intimacy coach works with actors and production teams to ensure the safe and respectful handling of intimate scenes. They choreograph and oversee scenes with intimacy, nudity, and simulated sex.
The best interview I’ve watched in a long time. Black royalty. “Whitley” and “Kim” are literally apart of my DNA. “Dwayne” is the guy that made being a math whiz cool. I so love this show. I’ll watch it until I’m old and gray.
A Different World caused "the college effect." During its run, college enrollment skyrocketed, not merely at HBCU's but at many colleges. This show will FOREVER be a nostalgic masterpiece, imitated by no other TV show. 1987-1993.
Debbie Allen is THE G.O.A.T!!! She is the epitome of the person that we all need in our professional lives… Someone who ignites the fire in our lives and opens doors we never thought we needed! The opportunities become endless! The entire cast are icons… and the vast majority of us without college educated parents ONLY wanted to go to college simply because of THEM!
This comment really hit. Because you really showed the impact of the show. Imagine being from a community where nobody around you went to college and your parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. didn’t receive a college education. And then you watch this show and see educated black people and the opportunities that they’re obtaining because they went to pursue their education. Now you have black kids going to college simply because they saw a TV show, which then helps those black kids gain more opportunities in their lives and progresses the black community. So powerful!!!
@@kalistewart4687 exactly. thats what you call TRUE impact; art that changes behavior. thats the most dangerous kind of art in a society that wants to keep you poor, dumb, and brainwashed.
A Different World, The Cosby Show, Living Single,Martin, Moesha and so many more black television shows gave me so much self love and so much joy! Being able to have representation of me and the ppl I grew up with and also representations of who I could be was so dope to see and I will forever be grateful to have grown up watching these shows❤❤
Seems we had better representation back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s than today. The shows back then tackled controversy and had a positive message and shown Black an brown in more positive light than shows today. Weird
Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison needs a podcast..for real! Jasmine is the firecracker and Kadeem Hardison brings the calm. I can only imagine the stories they could tell. I would so tune in.
I can honestly say that this is the first time I have EVER stayed glued to a breakfast club airing. Jasmine & Kadeem brought the truth to the table and managed/owned the tone of the show. I already had a profound admiration for these two back in the day. ...today, that respect and humility are amplified to the 10th power. R E A L!!!
This was THE interview! Kadeem’s class, humility and obvious love and respect for Jasmine and his peers is truly inspiring. Jasmine is hilarious, real, and an absolute G! They’ve both been in the game so long but this interview felt like we were just chopping it up with them at a get together. Loved the gems they dropped and the 90s nostalgia they gave was crazy too. A Different World meant so much to us growing up in the 90s. ♥️ 🖤💚
Soooo...after tearing up from watching these two AMAZING people being interviewed I would first like to say thank you Breakfast Club for giving them their flowers and expressing to them the love and appreciation we all are feeling ❤. Great job 👏
A Different World show motivated my four children all to go to college. I wanted my children to experience what they saw on A Different World. Being from NYC and Giuliani was the Mayor who weaponized the police against Black young men, I was determined to show my three sons in particular, that there is a different world. I kept my daughter in the NY university. All my children graduated from college & universities. Thank you Breakfast Club for bringing Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison to your show. I just loved their characters and them as down to earth people in real life. I watched “A Different World “ and was envious of those who experienced Black college life. I was already married at 19 yr old and was having children. So I went to Baruch College at night and then New Brunswick Seminary for my MDiv. Now at 72 yrs old, I’m pushing my grandchildren to A Different World experience. Jasmine is a deep, insightful Black sister. Kadeem is still true to his character Dwane from A Different World .
Breakfast Club, thank you for giving us this moment. It’s a shame that the industry doesn’t honor what A Different World was to the culture (not just black people). You allowed us to have an intimate moment with these two trendsetters. They gave me such pride and confidence in the 90s. Forever indebted to the entire cast and Debbie Allen ✊🏾
@@jojodancer1743 "The Culture" means the pride, confidence, self-esteem, faith, inclusion, identity (I could go on) that this show gave us. Now, we can see what it looks like....we can now aspire to create or replicate the template set before us.
@@larryclarkgospel Who do you mean by "us" specifically? And not for nothing, but a culture built around a morning show sure puts the "cult" in culture. Just saying.
Best interview ever! Jasmine Guy is real af! Somebody should let her play a character based on her real life persona, and it would blow up. Love her authenticity. Respect
One of the best interviews. I have mad respect for Jasmine---so beautiful, a 60 year old legend and she is super funny. "I am not calling that girls name out! I'm Blind" Wow love her relationship with Kadeem
Don't blame Whites. Brandon Tartikoff was the head of NBC. Fred Silverman was in charge before him, and Warren Littlefield after him. They don't consider themselves White, but you are right, they do like to divide.
Jasmine Guy saying they disrespect Bonet, then it disrespects her and all the cast, and willing to walk off a hit show for the poor treatment of someone else is mighty rare and of the utmost ethical integrity. What a glorious human being.
Debbie Allen taught them well❤️. It also warmed my heart when they shed light on Lisa Bonet. So good to hear them to stand up for her and tell the honest truth of what happened on the set of the show. Thank you for giving kadeem and Jasmine their flowers ❤️❤️.
Thank you for your positive thoughts. Lisa took so much unnecessary heat. If those producers treated her and the rest of the cast right then none of this would she ever went on. Anne Beatts (May she rest in peace) should at least listen to the cast and their opinions. And visit HBCU’s to get an insight on what was going on.
When Debbie Allen became the director of A Different World she made it into a real college experience for millions of us. It's hard to put into words how influential that show was to the belief that I could get a college degree.
Mane I was screaming like a 13 year old school girl on that famous wedding episode. I felt that "baby please" in my soul. I still do. Now that I've experienced heartbreak this late in life. Trust. Me and mom were glued every Thursday. Thanks you two.
It's so sad my daughter doesn't have a show like "A Different World" to grow up with. Yes! I make her watch now because it remains educational. This was the most incredible interview ever!
@StayAlert_StayAlive meh but that show isn't exactly representing like ADW in terms of quality storytelling, acting, writing and comedy. It's a poor man's A Different World.
This was so enjoyable to watch! I had the honor to work with both Jasmine and Kadeem on School Daze. Jasmine would have us on the floor with laughter all the time, meanwhile she would stand there looking innocent. Thank you for taking us on this trip down memory lane.
"So you can watoosi yo ass BACK to Africa if you want too!" Man School Daze is still one of my favorite movies. School Daze is the reason I went to an HBCU. Do you have any more stories from the set?
I couldn never have foreseen an interview like this in 1987 after watching the 1st season. I had just graduated college in 1986 and this show was almost a flashback for me to watch these underclassmen go thru their maturity. The show was like an experiment in many people's eyes because HBCUs weren't part of everyday talk.
How amazing!! I was born in 1986 but grew up watching this show. I always skip the first season. By this time I grew up people in my family were graduating from HBCU's. I'm glad to know this show had such a huge impact.
My mom loved the Kimberly Reese character and admired the beauty of the actress so much that she named me after Charnele Brown. This show has hands-down been one of the most important/influential shows in my life. So grateful for the powerful contribution of black entertainment ❤
Yes Kim Reese had the prettiest skin and teeth and her shape and that sister could sing… we needed Kim, especially with all the colorism we face as dark-skinned women
This interview gave me real black cinematic nostalgia! They were a huge part of my growing up, and I know I attended an HBCU because this show! I loved how Debbie Allen breathed life into this show, the actors, and characters we all grew to love! As a dancer, Jasmine Guy is a GIANT! She’s real as rain, highly intelligent, and creative! Loved every second! Thank you #BreakfastClub!
I never attend an HBCU, but after I got older and watch the reruns of the Different World, I was very much motivated as well as determine to go and achieve an college education. MUCH LOVE!!!
This is the best show ever! Kadeem and Jasmine, WOW! They are so humble and have shaped many peoples lives, including myself with their shows. I went to an HBCU because of them. I didn't know about HBCU'S until Real World. I thank you and will always be grateful to you both and the entire cast. May The Most High continue to keep and bless you and your families. It is a blessing to see you both alive and healthy. We will always love you both.
Credit to Debbie Allen as well for her huge role in turning A Different World around. Remember it was a spin off The Cosby Show but it definitely is an iconic Black sitcom. It's great to see Jasmine Guy still about as well. You just know she has a lot of stories to tell from the 90s. 90s is probably the best era of literally everything.
The 90s had the most black sitcoms in tv history-PERIOD.There were so many R &B singing groups in the 90s,over saturated really. LOL.Rap,R &B were LIT back in the 90s and so were the record companies-Bad-Boy,Death-Row,etc,etc,....
I’m not sure why these two don’t have their own series about them being grandparents or have them in other roles at this point of their careers. They are legends!
@@sxm76 man both of us that’s why I said it. But I think I was premature in writing my comment cuz right after that she mentioned she is in a few projects. So I have to check them out.
So they played in a movie together called The Christmas Pact. Kyla Pratt played their daughter. They all were so good together. They could really pull that off!!
I'm an even bigger fan of Jasmine Guy and Kadeem after this interview. The two them should do a podcast. Kadeem and Jasmine have great chemistry on the air.
I’ve laughed, I’ve cried but most importantly I’m STILL inspired! I remember being a kid during the Era of Cosby & A Different World 🌎 rushing home 🏡 to watch these 2 shows & while watching thinking 🤔 I’m finally seeing ME on tv 📺 but I’m just not acting. It’s was the most relatable and inspirational time during my youth! Yes I have amazing parents and family, but there was still life happening and this representation mattered.. still does! This Black Excellence pushed me harder in my scholastic studies and gave me different perspectives on life. I’m heartbroken 💔 that todays kids haven’t had this type of grounding but I’m grateful for the reruns! To Everyone involved with this cast, Thank You! You have NO idea what you’ve done for young black boys and girls who grew to be men and women! This type of positivity pushed us to be better, killed the negative noise about what we couldn’t be and showed us what we could! Lastly, it forced us to really deal with life! This representation mattered and forever will! Grateful to see them get their love and flowers 🌸! Admiration Respect and Abundance
Im just thankful they actually had a final episode with closure. Great interview! Different World is definitely my favorite show of all time!! I love them both! I can't believe they never won an Emmy. They definitely deserve one now. We need to make this right! However they are definitely getting those roses now!!! Praise GOD for that🙏🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽
This interview was absolutely everything my soul needed. So nostalgic to talk about those scenes. This show and a few others were a major part of my teenage years. And to know Debbie Allen’s contribution to the actors and the show just makes it even better. I’ve always loved Debbie because I love dance and she made it cool for a black girl to love contemporary dance but know this about her… makes me love her THAT MUCH MORE! #DopeBlackShi
Oh this is a historical gem, captured by the right people. I just want to thank you kindly for that bottle of champagne and this unabridged Jasmine Guy. The way she spilled that tea! Siiiiissss....Whitley woulda been afraid of Jasmine Guy! I love every bit of her. Kadeem Hardison has always been this well-spoken, poised man who still delivers. They are a whole comedy act! I loved them on the screen and the way they filled in the holes that we can see that represents the things left unsaid on screen. For everything they endured, we received a cultural gem that has formulated my entire life. I still watch this show every day and to see these two cut up on the Breakfast Club is priceless!
This was the best! They truly are legends. I went to an HBCU because of a Different World....it was such a powerful show! Thank You Jasmine and Kadeem and the rest of the cast and crew. You changed lives. Thanks to the Breakfast Club for this interview!
I just told my home girl that it was time for an A Different World binge watch and she agreed! Two weeks later this interview!!! This was AMAZING!!! Thanks TBC for this. A DIFFERENT WORLD is ICONIC!!! And DEBBIE ALLEN is a LEGEND!!!
I loved this interview being a fan of a Different World! Jasmine and Kadeem relationship on the show was always exciting, sad, and hilarious to watch. BUT listening to Jasmine tell how she stood up for Lisa Bonet should be celebrated because a lot of people would not put their jobs on the line for someone else, but she did at a very young age I must add! Bravo to you Jasmine and Kadeem you both deserve to be honored for keeping it real, still being true to you and others. I give you your flowers as well!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I would like to say as a 37-year-old black male these two were very inspiring. Yes it was a TV show but the realness in what they brought to the show really had an impact on me growing up. I didn’t go to college or anything like that but it just made me see black excellence as it should be. Debbie Allen you are a saint like they said I wish they would’ve kept going with the show it could’ve went on forever.
This warmed my heart!!! Yes to giving Jasmine and Kadeem their flowers. A Different World is why I attended a HBCU. I truly thought Hillman was a real school when I was younger!
Dag, can we get an audio commentary of "A Different World", with the behind the scenes thoughts of the actresses and actors!? Seeing this kind of explanation gives sooooooooo much insight to what was really going on during the filming of the show. Much respect to all the cast members and their craft!!
Jasmine was/is/has been under-rated and is still by far one of the most talented and educated actors on the scene. I wish this generation could see her as I do. Love Kadeem as well.
As a kid, this show gave me vision for my future. I couldn’t wait to go to college because of them! So grateful for the positivite representation. And Jasmine Guy could easily have a podcast. I could listen to her for hours! Both her and Kadeem have a lot of gems to share about the art and the industry.💪🏽💪🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️🙏🏽🥰🥰
I agree. Don't think I've watched a long interview from start to finish in a while. This was so good...and the show helped me so much as a first generation college student.
I clung unto every story! Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison are LEGENDS! A Different World was just such a great part of my life. BRAVO for this interview!
this was the ABSOLUTE BEST interview that The Breakfast Club has done IMO.....Kadeem and Jasmine meant so much to our culture. I grew up idolizing "Dwayne Wayne" and crushing on "Whitley Gilbert"...what an era of tv. I was 11 yrs old then when the show began and still watch those episodes today as a 46. Never gets old. I love the insight in this interview, the REAL insight that was given. Much props to Lisa Bonet in how she was treated on set...we didn't know....wow. We need more interviews like this.. too bad TBC is ending.
Jasmine Guy is so hilarious, down to earth and honest! I always loved her but watching this interview made me love her even more! She needs to do a podcast!

Omg yesss I loved this show. I wish the Denise character would’ve had that baby on the show would’ve motivated so many young mothers to hang in there because this show got so many black kids back then to college.

All I know is Its a different World gave me the pride I needed as a teenager in the 90's! This show single handedly encouraged me to graduate from a histoeically black college. I attended Johnson C. Smith and Southern University and it was! one of the best experience ever!

"A Different World" represents so much nostalgia and great memories for me. I'll never forget the excitement of gathering around the TV with my mom and sisters on Thursday nights to watch "The Cosby Show" and "A Different World." It was a stimulating evening of great lessons and pride. "A Different World" catapulted us into the world of HBCUs. Through this prideful lens, college life appeared to be very fun, captivating and life-altering. I loved all of the "A Different World" characters. They all came together to showcase every aspect of college life-expounding upon the movie, "School Daze." There were extensive and serious lessons in the episodes that were very impactful. Further, the Whitley and Dwayne wedding scene is one of the most EPIC scenes in TV history. It still gives me chills and feels when I watch it. My mantra in re: to dating/break-ups/relationships has always been: "I never want to be Whitley at the altar;" I never want to marry one man while being in love with another. Hence, I make sure I'm always over one man/relationship before committing to, or being in a serious relationship with another. With this said, Thank You for EVERYTHING "A Different World!" Your generational success, longevity, relevance, resonance and legacy are well-deserved.

I definitely second that emotion!!!

@@bmarie1001 Agreed. At 33:40 when Jasmine was talking about the time slots, it was like her point went completely over his head 🙄🙄. Like, what are you talking about?? HUGE shout out to Debbie Allen for holding it all down and making space for those around her to shine & grow! Also, I LOVED the relationship between Whitley and mother in law played by Patti Labelle. Those 2 together were straight hilarity!!😂

Debbie Allen true icon & all around Queen

We need a Part 2! This was the best interview. Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Harrison deserve all the respect.

You ain't lying real s*** it was either the J's on or the Air Force 1s
Glad you mentioned The Prince at the end. Amen, He and Will kickstarted sneakerheads in the 90s
He def was the big sneakerhead before Martin and the fresh Prince!

The moment that I saw this wedding comment, I purposely waited to see when he would speak about it. He's asked at the 56:30 point in the interview.

Debbie Allen truly turned the show around after season one and took a deeper dive into character development. A Different World is apart of the fabric of many of our childhoods/young adulthoods. I will forever appreciate what this show and its characters did for the culture.
While familiar with her work, this interview created a brand new appreciation for the human being who is Jasmine Guy.
I'm THANKFUL the were left out of Hollyweird! Not one of them are cracked out nor coked up and crazy! All money ain't good money!
The whole cast and crew really changed the face of television with this show!
stories about her getting ran through by 10 guys back then ...now she acts like she is innocent
Jasmine Guy has great comedic timing. Love this show and what it has meant to so many.
She is talented, but I wish my encounter hadn't been so disappointing from her rudeness

A Different World caused "the college effect." During its run, college enrollment skyrocketed, not merely at HBCU's but at many colleges. This show will FOREVER be a nostalgic masterpiece, imitated by no other TV show. 1987-1993.
Meanwhile all this popular ratchet isht outta place got the youth thinking what about future?

It made me want to go to college.

College enrollment skyrocketed... and so did student loans...🤫
Facts! Sis Facts.

@@stacyy100 Amazon prime. But it's 99¢ an episode .
I got chills with Kadeem talking about the wedding scene. Love that scene
Yooooooo I did too. That ish was deep.
I get chills every time I watch that episode
Yeah I have to go watch it again just knowing he panicked
I would like to say as a 37-year-old black male these two were very inspiring. Yes it was a TV show but the realness in what they brought to the show really had an impact on me growing up. I didn’t go to college or anything like that but it just made me see black excellence as it should be. Debbie Allen you are a saint like they said I wish they would’ve kept going with the show it could’ve went on forever.
Well said🙏
@@sweetlady2037 thank you 😊
@@brandonrogers6252 you welcome 🙏
Agreed!
This warmed my heart!!! Yes to giving Jasmine and Kadeem their flowers. A Different World is why I attended a HBCU. I truly thought Hillman was a real school when I was younger!
Yup. And there was no internet back then 2c that Hillman was fictitious.
😂😂I think we all thought Hillman was real
Jasmine was a whole mood!😆🤗
I concur!
I agree. Don't think I've watched a long interview from start to finish in a while. This was so good...and the show helped me so much as a first generation college student.
@@Nina-fh1bg I've never watched a full episode either, until Now! Absolutely life changing for so many of us 💯💯
I can watch her on anything
Facts 💚
I agree! And they can tour each HBCU interviewing professors, former and current students to discuss how HBCU climate have evolved since the 90’s!!😀
Yes she should!
I aint know she was so crazy she got me crackin up

I went through so many emotions watching this interview. I was laughing, crying with a smile on my face and angry all at the same time. This really took me back to my child hood. I really appreciated seeing them “Jasmine and Kadeem. Thank you The Breakfast Club. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I'm watching this crying happy tears
Omg yesss I loved this show. I wish the Denise character would’ve had that baby on the show would’ve motivated so many young mothers to hang in there because this show got so many black kids back then to college.
Yessss! These were my childhood heroes on tv. The reason i went to an HBCU.
I was like am I crazy! Why am I crying? Why am I excited and happy all at the same time. And Jasmine Guy is a whole mood! Loved this interview!
This was so nostalgic 🙌🏾🙌🏾🥰🥰
I am one of the BIGGEST Fans of A Different World. This show raised me and inspired me. I am also proud to say that my cousin, the legendary Aretha Franklin sang the theme song during a portion of the show's run. ✊🏿 #BlackExcellence
Same here! And I absolutely loved your cousin, the legendary Ms Aretha Franklin, singing the theme song!! Beautiful time this was, I sure do miss it!! ❤
She sung the soundtrack of OUR lives. Even when it hurt!
Truck driver here... I was on my way from Florida to Alabama and decided to check this interview out... been putting it off for about a week now... It was great... love Whiteley and ma boy Dwayne....different world is a column in the black culture...
I could’ve easily watched another hour of them! This was a fantastic interview for sure. I’ve been obsessed with a Different World my whole life and it still brings me much joy (especially now that I’m an HBCU grad)
I had to run it back after it was over.
Word, I'm mad it's over already 😂😂😂 they need a part 2, 3, 4, AND 5 😬🤞🏾🙏🏾
Easy! I didn’t want this to end. There was so much more to dive into.
Me too! Easily!
I was so disappointed when this interview ended. It was EVERYTHING!
All I know is Its a different World gave me the pride I needed as a teenager in the 90's! This show single handedly encouraged me to graduate from a histoeically black college. I attended Johnson C. Smith and Southern University and it was! one of the best experience ever!
JC…. SU the best HBCU in the world class of 2020
Did not expect to fully cry watching this. To see them literally get their flowers was so satisfying to watch ❤️
in tears!!!!!
I really wish this Interview was a lot longer I stayed tuned from start to finish Jasmine Guy is a whole vibe I can drink with her any time lol these two are definitely legends they need to do another interview with them and all the cast members that are still alive.
This is the best interview I have ever seen on this show. These two icons are worthy of every flower. Thank you both for your brilliance and integrity as actors. Thank you for fighting for our stories while journeying on in your own. We honor you and your impactful careers. Blessings forever!!! ❤👑👑 💯 #Salute
Agreed!!!
AMEN🙏🏿I CONCUR💃🤸💯🥳🎉🔥
A Different World is one of my favorite shows. I watched it as a child & I am now a graduate of two different HBCUs. This show truly captured my college experience.
Doing a HBCU Tour on my motorcycle. Can u tell me what school u attended?
I enjoyed every minute, every second .. every word of this interview. This was EVERYTHING. I am not exaggerating when I write that I've seen every episode at least 20 times! ADW was and will always be one of favorite shows! Thanks soo much for giving Jasmine and Kadeem their well deserved flowers. This interview was EVERYTHING!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💜💜💜
I absolutely loved this interview! Brought back so many memories from the show! I never missed an episode when it aired. Jasmine's authentic energy was perfectly balanced with Kadeem's humility. I would love to see them come back again.
I love the soft-spoken manner of Kadeem and how he gives Jasmine the floor.
Yesss, that was so nice to see and you can tell they are real friends and have true love for one another!!
You can see the respect he has for her. Beautiful
Wow! I loved this interview! I had no idea that Jasmine was this down-to-earth and that Kadeem was so chill. Debbie Allen has always been the real deal. All of the characters were good! I agree that we need a part 2...pass the champagne!
Yesss she cool as ever
There will never be another show like A Different World, this cast and Debbie Allen did so much for the culture. To this day I still watch the reruns and my 12 y/o daughter loves it too. Thank you to this cast for being part of our lives growing up.
No telling how many thousands of Black people went to hbcus because of the show.
Miss Guy is not a joke, not at all. Mad respect to her and Kahdeem.
I can see why Jasmine and Pac were good friends.
I Didn't Want This Interview to End. I Wanted More.... SO MUCH MORE!!!! 35 Years of "A Different World" Is Amazing. Such a TIMELESS Show. GREAT Interview. 🥳😍🙌🏾🌟💎🧡💯
I loved how Ms. Guy didn't hold back about her experiences. Actors today might be too afraid of what could happen if they spoke their truth. 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
They should not have filled her champagne lol
