Do you know if the update that is supposed to come out early next year, for the DJ's who don't want to mess around with Rekordbox, will be able to just plug our music right in? As a mobile DJ, getting the RX3 was in hopes to eliminate a laptop for most of my gigs if not all. I'd like to see you guys make a video showing how to convert over to the RX3 for the first time as an established Serato Pro DJ if possible. Thank you guys again for your videos. If you connect the XDJ RX3 to your laptop with serato it becomes a serato controller. And if you connect the rekordbox on your computer it goes to performance mode. Standalone only works with rekordbox prepared usb stick. To convert your libraries from serato to rekordbox use Lexicon Software. Then make your rekorbox libraries collection. Your serato crates become your rekordbox playlists. From there connect a usb stick then change rekordbox to export mode then export the libraries you want to the usb stick. You can also export all the playlists in to a harddrive if you want and have your entire Library[collection] to use stand alone.
good review! Thank you! I think i´ll go for it. I tested the denon prime 2 and the reason i have sent it back was, that the effects sounded much worse than those from pioneer. And when cuing a channel on the prime 2 it takes the signal-path before the filter effect is applied , why ? Also the often mentioned built-in track-analysing function was not very good. a lot of songs where analysed with wrong bpm - and it´s not possible to adjust the bpm measurement within the prime 2 so you have to jump back to a laptop again. So what does it then help you? Wifi and streaming - i don´t need that. The Touch-Screen and Beat-Jump Button i realy liked on the denon.
With the price increase pushing this all-in-one unit to $2,000, how could you not consider the 4-channel Denon Prime 4 that is now $200 cheaper by MSRP??

This is much more practical than the XZ. I mean that is just ridiculously huge and clunky. I still love the XZ! However, the RX3 is way more realistic in terms of mobility and utilization
At which pioneer will I feel a smaller difference when I come to a club where there are CDJ-3000 and DJM-900-NXS2? - RX3 Compact? Or XDJ-700 and DJM-450? What would you recommend? thanks 🔥
Wouldn't have purchased this, but my RX2 order was cancelled due to it being discontinued. So they gave me this for the RX2 price. Can't complain I guess.
I see a lot of people are disappointed with this unit and are comparing it to Denon. Denon is currently focussing on streaming capabilities. Personally I don’t ever see streaming replacing tracks downloaded on a usb. With a usb you can jump on any decks and your playlist is right there, streaming relies on wifi which just creates more issues. Streaming services never have all of the tracks you want, there are legal issues etc etc. For people that enjoy the pioneer layout, 2 deck mixing and usb style of DJing, this unit is more or less perfection. The price point is definitely high however I am completely satisfied with the features on this unit.
When I bought my Prime 4 almost two years ago nobody new it had Wi-Fi in it and it already had more interesting features than this (not gimmicks). Today I can stream a song that someone requests me that I don’t have, I control my lights in sync with the music with it, I can share it with anybody (even rekordbox users) and we can DJ together because it analyses everything on the spot, I can use it with VDJ if I want video, I can have my full library in a SSD inside it and still have 5 ports on the outside, I always record my sets also on that SSD in wav format, I always had three color waveforms that are much easier to read than the RX3… I could go on but all of this costed less than the RX3!
There is 3 usb ports on my sc6000’s… they read engine and rekordbox prepared usb sticks… they will even read and analyse a usb stick that hasnt been ran through any software on top of all the streaming capabilities…. So no noone is focusing on streaming at all..
Streaming was NOT the reason why I bought the Prime 4. Reasons: * superior touch screen (still) * on board analysis * soundswitch support * SD card support * SSD support * zone out * 4 channels * etc., etc. The RX3 is underwhelming
Hello i have a question, i also have an XDJ RX3 but wich USB STICK is good for the RX3? i have SANDISK EXTREME PRO,but sometime its not load the song fast enough.
the worst part is that now we know if we want more features in the pioneer we have to wait 3-4 years for the next (cross you fingers) upgrade. truly considering the Denon now. i cant even imagine what the prime 5 would look like

*Too many things missing* 😠 - Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search) - A modern loop control section (its simply archaic) - Censor button with Reverse as shift - Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click - Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4% - Better looking waveforms and GUI - Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent) - Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient) - Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing - Full track buffering - Key Shift / Sync - Analyzing tracks on the fly - Streaming / WIFI - An SD slot (not even talking about SSD/HDD) - Priced should be $1700 instead of $2000 Hard pass. I stick with my Prime 4.
If the XDJ-XZ had this same 10" touch screen, I'd get that ASAP. Think I should wait for the next iteration of the XDJ-XZ that will probably have the 4 channel capability with most of the same bells and whistles.
Honest opinion, as someone getting back into Djing, do I get this or the SC live 4? I know they're totally different units with one having four channels, but as far as features etc on the decks themselves which gives better bang for your buck? Love the videos guys.
For performance controls around mixing and getting creative then, this hands down. However, if you want to remove the laptop from the picture, focus on streaming music and need something simple and streamlined then the SC Live 4.
At 4:54 the browser view shows the BPM field displaying Key in addition to the BPM. How did you get the file tagged that way, or the data to display that way? Specifically the Key following the BPM info in that field?
I love the XDJXZ , I also got the RX3 however the sound quality is terrible high pitch frequencies I couldn't handle it. I sent mine back I am hoping I had a broken one. But I saw a few other people have the same issues. Must use a different chip in these than the others. Even here on your video, the sound frequencies are sort of off do u agree?.
I do hear many talk about sound quality. I also see that the prime 4 has a S/N ratio of 93 while the XZ is 111, but what really is the difference in real life application? N how much better is it in quality if a A&H mixer is said to be better, but the same question applies, how much different is Pioneer to A&H. Has anybody had the experience to tell the difference between the three?
Hi. Crossfader, i have SanDisk 128 GB but the wavevorms just doesn’t work on my RX3 . I already analyzed it thru rekordbox. But the INFO is still empty and no wavevorms.. should i use another USB? What USB do you recommend?
No wifi so no streaming capabilities, Denon leading the way bigtime, if this would have had wifi capability, it wouldve been a gamechanger but its just a fancier rx2 which has someone said earlier doesnt even rival the Prime 2. Il stick with my Denon thanks
You mentioned that if the music has been through the analysed through rb in phrase it would then will show up on the RX3 screen, assuming that must be RB6 feature as it doesn't seem to work with my RB5... Plus at this moment in time a few like myself cannot get the RX3 to connect in performance mode with mac. I have tried it on a big surprise M1 mac and and older internet MacBook intel model, looking at the forums there are a few others having the same issues, just wondered if you have used yours in performance mode?
In looking at maybe buying but would like to use performance mode. Does it have RB unlock built-in? I use a ddj-xp2 so thinking as this unlocks would it allow performance mode to work?
The pad effects are cool since I bought my RX2 specifically to use it without a computer. It'll be worth the upgrade if I can "scam" someone into my RX2
Same, I don't get how people can even think about doing that. Just download it. I'll never be comfortable in a bar doing this, if that's the future they're angling us towards. Imagine if there's not enough bandwidth left over for the music, if it's a public hotspot or something. That all sounds wack to me.
@@e1ectroniKa Beatport link in Professional variant allows for offline storage of 1000 tracks, so that kinda resolves problem with bandwidth. About not connecting to internet, much will improve when rekordbox mobile app will be possible to connect to XDJ via USB on iOS and Android (right now it's supported only for iOS)
Was curious when I saw Pioneer just released the RX3 because it will take almost another two months till my Prime 4 will be delivered. But this was kind of a letdown... Is it just me or did it feel like Holland is not 100% convinced by the RX3? So I guess it is okay waiting another two months for my Prime 4 instead of jumping on the RX3.
Awesome unit! Thanks for the video. I cannot get the BPM column next to the track name like you have there on the screen, i've chosen that column in Rekordbox prefs, but it's not syncing over properly to the hardware for some reason from my USB drive.
So not groundbreaking... I'm thinking: In a world with current shortage of anything with microchips in it: Shouldn't Pioneer simply have released a new firmware update to the RX2 with most of the new stuff in it? Wouldn't that have been better for everyone? - except maybe the Pioneer shareholders
@@Crossfader Which begs the question of why they didn't they add a newer processor to it or just delay it until a new processor was available for it, it looks like they have made a rod for their own back with that decision, and I'm a pioneer and rekordbox user.

Buttons ?
You're talking about the fx.. yeah that is something they should have added.
Got myself a brand new RX2 a week ago and payed nearly the full price. And I made hella internet research cause‘ I had a clue they will bring out a new one sooner or later. Found nothing on the internet, now I see this - fml! :(
Bro I did this too
Sneaky bastards
Same man, bought mine back in July smdh. But I'm good with mine, not trading it for this one that only had a few upgrades; not even worth it imo
@@InitialDL84 agreed, it is an RX2 on steroids.
Thanks for the guide I actually learnt something useful. How did you get the custom image and in what directory should it go? I'm actually struggling hahaha
I wonder if this means there will be an update to the XZ soon 🤔👀
Probably in 3 years
@@rupakmajumdar9959 Hope so, just ordered a XZ 5 days ago :D
Looks great already ❤️
Absolutely!
This is much more practical than the XZ. I mean that is just ridiculously huge and clunky. I still love the XZ! However, the RX3 is way more realistic in terms of mobility and utilization
Exactly
Now we are waiting for XDJ-XZ v2 - 😁
hopefully not, just ordered my xdj-xz 5 days ago ^^
@@gin1826 🤯
At which pioneer will I feel a smaller difference when I come to a club where there are CDJ-3000 and DJM-900-NXS2? - RX3 Compact? Or XDJ-700 and DJM-450? What would you recommend? thanks 🔥
Very clear, thank you
Wouldn't have purchased this, but my RX2 order was cancelled due to it being discontinued. So they gave me this for the RX2 price. Can't complain I guess.
I've just sold my 5 month old 3000s with 900nxs2
Thinking of upgrading my rx2 to this model
Agreed. I tried beatsource streaming service it sucked. The DJ edits were nothing spectacular and the catalog was very limited.
@@DjTecniq my thoughts exactly
There is 3 usb ports on my sc6000’s… they read engine and rekordbox prepared usb sticks… they will even read and analyse a usb stick that hasnt been ran through any software on top of all the streaming capabilities…. So no noone is focusing on streaming at all..
Streaming was NOT the reason why I bought the Prime 4.
Reasons:
* superior touch screen (still)
* on board analysis
* soundswitch support
* SD card support
* SSD support
* zone out
* 4 channels
* etc., etc.
The RX3 is underwhelming
They just brought this out, yet I've been waiting for my XDJ-XZ to arrive since April!!! Anyone else waiting on an XDJ-XZ?
I'm loving this. 🔥
Us too!
Hello i have a question, i also have an XDJ RX3 but wich USB STICK is good for the RX3? i have SANDISK EXTREME PRO,but sometime its not load the song fast enough.
Try a Samsung 500gb T7 we’ve used it and it’s the fastest drive ever! We also have a sandisk extreme pro as backup
Currently running a DDJ1000. I'll wait for the XDJ-XZ2
Just ordered a XDJ-XZ hopefully there is no XDJ-XZ2 soon otherwise idk how to calm down after that ^^
Surely the timer is for timing a set of a certain length, not the one night a year we might have a countdown
Might want a countdown for someone’s birthday if it’s at midnight
the worst part is that now we know if we want more features in the pioneer we have to wait 3-4 years for the next (cross you fingers) upgrade. truly considering the Denon now. i cant even imagine what the prime 5 would look like
The Prime 4 is nothing near Pioneer Quality.. sound and effects pioneer wins hand down.
Prime 4 has industry standard sound, fx, and build quality. I'm just waiting for the library software to be top-notch, and it it nearly is.
Thanks for review n all..i have question/ do you think can be use this RX3 to middle size club? i used cdj2000nsx2 w djm900nxs. is it upgrade or downgrade if i swab this RX3?
kindly let me know ur opinion...means except personal skills..only things
*Too many things missing* 😠
- Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search)
- A modern loop control section (its simply archaic)
- Censor button with Reverse as shift
- Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click
- Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4%
- Better looking waveforms and GUI
- Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent)
- Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient)
- Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing
- Full track buffering
- Key Shift / Sync
- Analyzing tracks on the fly
- Streaming / WIFI
- An SD slot (not even talking about SSD/HDD)
- Priced should be $1700 instead of $2000
Hard pass. I stick with my Prime 4.
This should get pinned. What an insult for DJs with some brain. Hard pass, Pioneer.
ruclips.net/video/IpqJKJN09UM/видео.html
That is why Denon DJ Prime 2 exists
I see 4 pad modes for beat loop and beat jump, which also show the beat length on the screen.
@@bryanjonathanentertainment2524 but no dedicated buttons, rather than those useless track search ones.
If the XDJ-XZ had this same 10" touch screen, I'd get that ASAP. Think I should wait for the next iteration of the XDJ-XZ that will probably have the 4 channel capability with most of the same bells and whistles.
which USB-sticks are you using ? are these recommended ?
Honest opinion, as someone getting back into Djing, do I get this or the SC live 4? I know they're totally different units with one having four channels, but as far as features etc on the decks themselves which gives better bang for your buck? Love the videos guys.
For performance controls around mixing and getting creative then, this hands down. However, if you want to remove the laptop from the picture, focus on streaming music and need something simple and streamlined then the SC Live 4.
Used P4 is the best value and features of any controller
At 4:54 the browser view shows the BPM field displaying Key in addition to the BPM. How did you get the file tagged that way, or the data to display that way? Specifically the Key following the BPM info in that field?
Did you find out?
On the color fader, is it automatically just the normal low/high cut filter? Or do you have to press filter for that?
I love the XDJXZ , I also got the RX3 however the sound quality is terrible high pitch frequencies I couldn't handle it. I sent mine back I am hoping I had a broken one. But I saw a few other people have the same issues. Must use a different chip in these than the others. Even here on your video, the sound frequencies are sort of off do u agree?.
Can you reverse the crossfader on this unit? What about replacement faders. How do you change them out when they inevitably die?
Denon paved the way.
Does this work well with serato
I do hear many talk about sound quality. I also see that the prime 4 has a S/N ratio of 93 while the XZ is 111, but what really is the difference in real life application? N how much better is it in quality if a A&H mixer is said to be better, but the same question applies, how much different is Pioneer to A&H. Has anybody had the experience to tell the difference between the three?
if we get used to all these release fx, i imagine it would make it harder on club setups that dont have these features?
Hi. Crossfader, i have SanDisk 128 GB but the wavevorms just doesn’t work on my RX3 . I already analyzed it thru rekordbox. But the INFO is still empty and no wavevorms.. should i use another USB? What USB do you recommend?
Thank you so much. This was very helpful & you're very handsome:)
No wifi so no streaming capabilities, Denon leading the way bigtime, if this would have had wifi capability, it wouldve been a gamechanger but its just a fancier rx2 which has someone said earlier doesnt even rival the Prime 2. Il stick with my Denon thanks
Yeah, i will stick with my trusty prime4, plus with the new firmware update, its pretty nice...
No DJ doing an actual gig would stream anything. Don’t wanna rely on WiFi, can only see that being used in weddings/resurants. Not raves.
@@Macarite still enough other things missing.
Same here, glad i made the move to Denon DJ, just light years ahead.
@@TheSaabClinicUK yeah i agree
Amazing
Maybe this means we will get an XZ2 soon. Hopefully with that expanded screen and the ability to ACTUALLY PLAY FOUR TRACKS ON THE STANDALONE.
Price tag of that would be $2999 USD
I'd get that if you can play 4 tracks standalone!
@@InitialDL84 Pioneer wont do that, Their flagship products wont sell then
Can you stream it out using a software like obs while playing from the USB and not using a rekordbox software at all? Any technical examples? Thanks
WAV or FLAC song format can be play xdj-rx3?
Pioneer thinks “let’s make something great”, put a bigger screen on it. Job done, let’s have a beer.
The pad effects are cool since I bought my RX2 specifically to use it without a computer. It'll be worth the upgrade if I can "scam" someone into my RX2
the wave form looks like it was imported from the 90's
I actually like the fact you can’t connect it to the internet less to go wrong
Is it worth to buy RX2 with metal case for 1000 pounds or add a little extra and buy the RX3 ?
If you are up for more rings and bells like a bit more sound colour fx and bigger screen go for it otherwise not much of a big an update from rx2
Loving it 😄
Awesome unit! Thanks for the video. I cannot get the BPM column next to the track name like you have there on the screen, i've chosen that column in Rekordbox prefs, but it's not syncing over properly to the hardware for some reason from my USB drive.
Ever fix this?
Question: After loading the tracks can you remove The USB cards and say put a blank one in for your Mixes? or do you have to leave the USB stick in?
Leave it in most likely
Waiting for the day you can play snake on the display.
Well, that would have been the obvious thing to do...
I believe the older processor architecture can't handle the new features sadly!
@@Crossfader Which begs the question of why they didn't they add a newer processor to it or just delay it until a new processor was available for it, it looks like they have made a rod for their own back with that decision, and I'm a pioneer and rekordbox user.
Will be another 2000€ for sure so nothing for normal people again
@@superfaceles let's be clear, us djs are not normal people!
Digging up this fossil from 2018?
Thank you :)
Hi is this fully stand alone without the use of computer and software updates. I'm hoping to get something I can just USB and mix. ?
What are those big USB sticks you have??
Sandisk Extreme Pro 3.1 😊
Hi, one question: if we midi map one of the pad modes to work as sampler, would those samples work in stand alone mode? thanks in advance! great video by the way 👌👌👌
How did you delete the hot cue? :)
Amazing🕺
XDJ RX3 is good with serato dj pro or rekordbox ?
Of the RX series is this one the most advanced?
are you able to change the track order in your playlist on the screen? Or do you have to go to your laptop for that also?
Could please mention what would be a cheaper alternative to this and why it's good?
Denon Dj Prime 2 unless you are way into Serato Pro
Ddj1000 still a great controller but not stand alone
Denon Prime 2 or 4
