I wonder if this is a 10" version of the touch screen on my Pioneer head unit. I'd say no way because my head unit's like 8 years old. But the way Pioneer reuses shit I'm wondering. The screen on my HU sucks in every way imaginable.
Good point on Cloud capability. That will only grow stronger in 22. Pioneer has continued to rely on its name and rugged built. Even though Denon is futuristic. It still has not put a huge dent in being in a large amount/ Percentage of clubs worldwide.
Superb review as always! I appreciate the significance of having the deck sections fitting a club standard layout but the real challenge i expect most DJs moving from controllers to club gear to face isnt the deck layouts, its the absence of stacked waveforms. For the same price, if youre content with small jogs, and if youre really looking to ultimately use a club standard setup, id take the xdj700s and a decent 4 channel mixer over this every day of the week!
I see your point. I actually use a pair of XDJ-700’s with a DJM-S7. While the S7 is a battle style mixer, it has all of the effects of the DJM-900NXS and a booth output that the DaJM-400 doesn’t have. I can also use the S7 with Sersto, Rekordbox, Virtual DJ, or Traktor as a sound source with the XDJ-700’s as HID controllers which makes the setup more flexible that the RX3. The S7 also has two sound cards for easy changeover if there is more than one DJ playing. For a few hundred dollars more it was worth it.
Some nice ideas but not other than the larger screen there’s nothing I’m lacking with my XZ. I disagree on the streaming services, can’t see me ever going down that road…maybe it’s my old school mentality, I want physical music (albeit digital on a usb stick)
I'm surprised you didn't highlight that this is the first all in one from Pioneer DJ that supports FLAC. Curiously the unit doesn't support ALAC like the CDJ 3000 and XDJ 1000mk2 do despite ALAC being a 16 bit standard while FLAC is 24 bits. FLAC support is the biggest change with this unit because this is the first time a user of a Pioneer all in one can use FLAC at every stage of preparation and performance. FLAC support also makes it possible to use this unit on PA systems that are either very refined, very loud or preferably both. I agree most of the other features are just refinements of earlier xdi rx models but putting an audio processor that is nearly as good as the five year old XDJ 1000 mkII is more than just a slight tweak and worthy of more emphasis to those considering purchasing this unit.
*Too many things missing:* - Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search) - A modern loop control section (its simply archaic) - Censor button with Reverse as shift - Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click - Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4% - Better looking waveforms and GUI - Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent) - Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient) - Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing - Full track buffering - Key Shift / Sync - Analyzing tracks on the fly - Streaming / WIFI - A SD slot, why only USB? Not secure. - Price should be $1600 instead of $2000 Hard pass. I stick with my Prime 4!
Whats point A&H making standalone with quality sound, if 90% of this equipment will be used on some shit or portable speakers, which can't deliver quality sound. Places who can afford and do good Sound Set up, they will take some 2000NXS+ decks with some decent mixers or Turntables. So this is Pointless...
Hi , i see the auto cue is on at your screen. But tracks dont start playing when you load them. How did you presetbthat. Cause my tracks start automaticly when loaded
@ #DJcityTV Would you recommend record box or Serato Pro for this unit. It's my 1st Pioneer DJ purchase in Oct 2024 so im a bit late getting to this product being stuck in the NUMAK realm. Just want to get the most out of this 2 or 3 year old product. Cheers & look 4ward to your reply. Gr8 review!!!
Great video. Agree my eyebrows were raised that this isn’t tackling the expected growth in streaming. Personally I prefer not to laptop DJ (I had relentless problems on my MacBook Pro 2015 and XDJ-XZ with Beatport link music just stopping at random). But I miss this service and if the pioneer equipment went standalone with link and offline storage, I would be a happy Beatport link customer again. Still looks like awesome kit for standalone USB DJs so I am happy for that market which is huge.
In 2022 Pioneer will sell us Wifi USB Dongles. The Rekordbox StreamStick 3000. For only 249US ;-) Besides the lack of streaming I think it's an ok evolution to the RX2.
I love the prime4 scroll around the tracks...its the same on Cdj3000. What happening on RX3 Screen? It is possible the same scroll with a new firmware upgrade? Tnks
Been loving your videos for ages Mojaxx...Thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom! I'm about to get one of these bad boys and have a question!? I noticed both the reordbox and Serato logos to the top right...Can Serato be loaded onto the unit and uses? Or can it only be accessed via a laptop with Serato on it!? Would appreciate your understanding of this, thanx
What would you say is a better replacement for a DDJ-1000, this, or the XZ? Seeing as effective they’re both 2 channel mixers, given that I’m moving away from DDJ to be 100% standalone?
Mojaxx- great video! Do you think the RX3 sound quality is comparable to the Allen & Heath PX5 when using vinyl? Trying to decide if I should just use this for my main mixer, appreciate your thoughts.
I organise my music by file name. That is “artist - song name.mp3” Can xdj3 display the tracks by file name in alphabetical order? Can’t seem to find this answer anywhere Thanks
I use the ethernet on my RX1 for everything. It's been much better running ethernet over to it over a USB cable from where my stuff is and the omission of it on the RX3 is kind of a problem for me... that really sucks. Before this I had my eyes on the XZ and i'd be interested in an XZ2 if that ends up happening, but that BEST have ethernet support and for Link mode from Rekordbox. Would really suck if it didn't.
as someone who owns the Numark mixstream pro, and for someone that uses their feet as I'm disabled, would it be possible to spin the disks without my heels pressing the buttons or?
Nice review. Question: so once you use usb as the source to load tracks you don't need to look into your laptop while you're playing as track selection and touchscreen is on a device itself > can you stream then from rx3 to software like obs studio so that laptop, in your dj set up, if you ever use it, has just 1 responsibility, to run streaming software, not dj software + streaming software. Or once again there is no simple way of doing it? Has anyone tested it with a good result? Thanks!
Question: How to use sync button on Pioneer DJ rx3 standalone controller when one track is 70 bpm and the other track is 140 bpm? It sounds weird when a 70 bpm track is synced to 140 bpm or the other way around. When I use Serato on a laptop, it will automatically sync them as 70 and 140 respectively, but I am not able to do the same using the sync button on the hardware.
The RX2 is still fine. It just looks super old because of the screen. This screen on the RX3 is such a big update. If the Prime 2 had a screen that big then the whole world would own a Prime 2. Hopefully this will motivate Denon to make a Prime 2 with a bigger screen!
@@rupakmajumdar9959 Of course you do! Everybody is going to like the RX3. The RX3 and the CDJ-3000 are the only Pioneer devices which look modern. I’m just saying the RX2 is still totally functional, but it looks like it’s 20 years old compared to the RX3. The screen is just awful. I can tolerate an awful screen on a CDJ-2000NXS2, but not on an RX2 where you need to fit all the info for both decks and other stuff.
I don’t think there’s any all-in-one worth considering besides the RX3 and the Prime 4. The Prime 4 is still pretty awesome because you can add a 3rd physical deck. But … I really think Denon is going to make a Prime 2 with a bigger screen pretty soon, and then that’ll be a good option, too. Well, they really need a 2nd USB port on the Prime 2, too…
@@RaquelFoster prime 2 actually has 3 USBs. Only one on top, others in back. But out of the Engine stand-alones I like the prime go and the Numark mix stream pro.
@@rupakmajumdar9959 OMG that's funny. I played on Nick's K's Prime 2 and he didn't even know there were those two USB slots on the back, so we were all just stopping to hand off to the next DJ cuz we were all sharing that one top USB slot. It's cool that they have one on the back so you could maybe plug in an external drive or something, but it's pretty ridiculous to have two in the back and only one slot in the standard spot.
*I’m conflicted. I like the new OS but i’ve convinced my boss to get the XZ for installation in our bar.* *What are the odds of Pioneer releasing an XZ2?*
My personal view is that a lot of the DJ gear ultimately does the same thing - so just buy what's right for your venue at the time. If you're buying something as top-end as the XDJ-XZ we are going to be seeing that in small venues 5, maybe even 8 or 10 years from now - easily. DJing isn't really innovating much now as the act of DJing is the same no matter what kit we choose. The small (growing) caveat will be the bedroom DJs learning now who professionalise - maybe they'll end up demanding to stream their tracks but the current XZ does this on a laptop with Rekordbox anyway. I think streaming itself needs to mature a bit yet though and I personally appreciate the certainty of turning up with a USB stick and a backup to a gig as they so rarely go wrong. The great thing about the XZ unlike some earlier CDJs is that it does support FLAC and WAV (the highest quality music files) wheras some only do WAV. In a small club or bar though this isn't so likely to be a deal breaker for anyone playing. It's just nice knowing its there.
Great review, can someone advise if the pitch control clicks into place at -0+ ? I know this happens on the RX2 it didn’t on the XZ. I know I can increase + or - on the other deck to compensate but it’s a bug bear of mine lol
So not groundbreaking... I'm thinking: In a world with current shortage of anything with microchips in it: Shouldn't Pioneer simply have released a new firmware update to the RX2 with most of the new stuff in it? Wouldn't that have been better for everyone? - except maybe the Pioneer shareholders
I have a question. Mojaxx mentions that it can do a good job of beat detection of external sources, so that means streaming music, from a phone for example, isn't out of the question? I LOVE beatport link, it's a brilliant way to hear before you buy, but you can still use it on the RX3 if it's tethered to a PC running RB? TIA. Daz. BTW I've already paid for mine with a hefty deposit, I'm just waiting for delivery at the end of the month... Come on global shipping, no more excuses ;)
it should be possible by setting the play mode to continuous and then starting a track from a playlist. it won't crossfade or properly transition like VirtualDJ can, but it should mostly work and play the songs after each other.

I love my RX3. It’s truly a wonderful machine. However, SERATO does not work well with it. After doing a couple gigs, I have came to the conclusion that operating this all in one system is best via USB sticks. I made the switch from Traktor Pro 3 to the RX3 because I felt it was time for something new so as an open format DJ.
My problem with pioneer controllers its the sound quality been all in one and great products they have to compromise something for offering so much and sounds its one of them. I ise to have the DDj 1000 great controller but the sound for me wasn't great I was wondering if this sounds better. Does anyone have try this one and can tell me how this sounds compared to the ddj 1000 or other controllers from pioneer?
CDJ-3000 (2020) was released at exact the same price point as the CDJ-2000NXS2 (2016). factor in a (conservative) estimate of inflation btwn 2016-2020 & the cdj-3000 is less expensive in 2020 than a 2000nxs2 in 2016, and in 2021 even with the price increases applied recently, the 3k is 'cheaper' in 2021 than 2knxs2 in 2016.
ps. the most overpriced DJ Gear in the History of DJ Gear is basically all DJ gear ever sold. 'DJs'are a hyper niche market with specialized needs that range across ancient (midi), mostly dead (cd vinyl, personal digital files), dying (mp3s/lossy), heavy (vinyl), basic (computers), consumer (rca connections, analog speakers), overhyped (cloud), underhyped (Ableton Link), proprietary (almost everything even the music played), pragmatic (decksavers), cutting edge (DJs understanding midi) and bleeding edge (can't think of anything)...DJ industry is sort of like the auto industry (basic, used to luxury, high end)...except that the the entire dj industry is probably worth less money than what Ford spent in 2020 on advertising in the USA alone.
Good review; I think Pioneer is trying to compete with the Denon Prime 4, which is a great setup about the same price range, and the Denon Prime is better. Now I own all Pioneer and will not change from my CDJ 2000 NX2s but still cool =)
There is no future proofing with any Pioneer DJ equipment unless you have the top, flagship equipment - CDj-3000 / DJM900 NXS2. They will produce one or two software updates over an 18 month period but then a new product will come along and there will be no further updates for your gear. Pioneer have always done this and can't see any reason why they would change now. So unless you are prepared to be trading in & upgrading your equipment with every new release then you're pretty much stuck with with the hardware/software as is on release and any new development in the industry, like streaming, will just have to wait for the next product. It's all about money & Pioneer want ALL yours.
Anyone care to comment on reports that the latest firmware (1.15, I think?) has issues that arise after the unit is in continuous use for 3 or 4 hours? Namely, scrolling while browsing slowing down dramatically and eventually freezing? There’s a thread about it on the Pioneer DJ forum. Anyone else experiencing this, or alternatively anyone playing long sets on one of these without any issues at all? Thanks
Hey Mojaxx, I am downgrading my setup from a full SC6000, Xone:96, RMX, etc as I found that it was overkill to have at home and does not fit my purposes whatsoever. Because of that, I ordered an XDJ XZ which is supposed to arrive at the end of this month. Would you recommend cancelling the order for the XZ and purchasing the RX3 instead?
XZ all the way @Camels32 . Stood in front of it, it's just bigger, full size jogwheels (and they do come with that nice screen in them). The screen is nicer on the RX2 but performance wise - and professionally - the XZ has all the other trimmings. You can even add CDJs on ethernet link and link them all together - and using turntables on separate channels is an option, too. There's nothing the matter with the RX3 but I feel like coming from your full size kit, you will start to feel slightly more hemmed in and you'll feel like you're obviously working on something a bit more condensed down. This bothers some, but not others.
@@RC75 good way to make some money - I've had overkill kit at home before and if you're not taking it to venues and using it, then you might as well make some coin. It depends where we are in our own lives.
Like your pioneer review's I tried a ddj 1000 but i didnt like the quality of the jog wheels compared to cdj 2000 or 3000. I also tried a pair of xdj 700 with a djm 450 for a week and they felt like toys, except for the mixer. Really like the djm 450. Now im considering the rx3. The xdj xz isnt for me because when i have full size mechanical jog wheels then i also want them quality build. There not in the ddj 1000 or xdj xz. So would the xdj rx3 be a good choice for me?
I mean if you are obssessed with scratching on big jog wheels like the XZs ones, then go for the XZ, if not, go for the RX3, after all if you are good in scratching you can do it in all gears, other than that, I can easily say that the RX3 is a better choice in most cases compared with the XZ, I could buy the XZ but went for the RX3 with no second guessing and till this day am not disappointed.
I am curious to know how many Denon DJs use to be Pioneer users at one time. It tickles me how they can slam a product they use to believe in. Personally, I don't have any issues with Denon or the Prime series. If you learned from that system, I say stick to it. I am certain most of these DJs are still playing on the Pioneer DJ system out on gigs unless they are bringing their Denon with them. I learned from both Pioneer and Rekorbox. I am glad there is no streaming capability for I don't feel it is necessary. It's my opinion of course but I am not ready to spend on a monthly subscription to get the music I prefer to play. I like purchasing my music and downloading and uploading towards Rekordbox and saving on my USE drive. When Pioneer feels it is time, they will make streaming available and maybe I will embrace it. They are not ready and I am cool with that.
I have the RX1 which for my needs suits me fine However, my only gripe, and which they still haven't changed on the RX3, is the piss poor microphone EQ of just Lo and Hi.
Christ I love this channel, literally cannot wait to see new vids of new DJ gear by this bloke

As always, a dam fine review
The XDJ-XZ supports FLAC
*Too many things missing:*
- Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search)
- A modern loop control section (its simply archaic)
- Censor button with Reverse as shift
- Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click
- Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4%
- Better looking waveforms and GUI
- Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent)
- Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient)
- Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing
- Full track buffering
- Key Shift / Sync
- Analyzing tracks on the fly
- Streaming / WIFI
- A SD slot, why only USB? Not secure.
- Price should be $1600 instead of $2000
Hard pass. I stick with my Prime 4!
100% true 😒
There are beatjump buttons. It’s in padmode. 🤷🏾♂️
My thoughts exactly.May still upgrade but maybe not.
All the stuff I use!! 😆
The usb slot can take up to a 4tb SSD not just a usb stick.
it would be nice if allen & heath also made a standalone console with its sound quality, and maybe in collaboration with the guys from traktor..?..
I love A&H, but I think this will be never..
That would be great, but don’t think it’s going to happen.
Brilliant
@@RC75 exactly great but unfortunately no.
Exactly. They are still relying on their name. I want to buy it but I feel hesitant now
Great overview and review! Thank you
can I know your opinions on XZ or RX3? really struggling to decide :((
We’ve had the xdjxz just bought an rx3 the xz is heavy and bulky just fyi…
will tracks that have active loop activated in Rekordbox, automaticallytrigger on this unit?
In 2022 Pioneer will sell us Wifi USB Dongles. The Rekordbox StreamStick 3000. For only 249US ;-)
Besides the lack of streaming I think it's an ok evolution to the RX2.
I love the prime4 scroll around the tracks...its the same on Cdj3000. What happening on RX3 Screen? It is possible the same scroll with a new firmware upgrade? Tnks
Very fair review as usual... just a little improvement over the RX2, same thoughts here.
better screen, among other things. Its actually quite a big improvement.
$2000? ... Go home Pioneer, you're drunk.
very nice ! But what about sound output quality ? Is it better than rx2 ? I had rhe pioneer rx2 but i wan't satisfied with the sound quality.
The artwork issue is (I believe) due to different jpg format. From some reason .jpeg files are always readable though only .jpg I guess no..
I'm trying to make a decision to buy this unit. Is it good or bad?
just played a gig on this one and I was really missing the sample bank... couldnt figure out how to trigger or even channel the sampler audio.
Can you recommend a dj mixer more economical for mobile DJing?
Really appreciate your input 👍
Much blessings 🙌
🎛🎛🎧🎧😎
I organise my music by file name. That is “artist - song name.mp3”
Can xdj3 display the tracks by file name in alphabetical order?
Can’t seem to find this answer anywhere
Thanks
Playing a set on this in a club soon... do i need to prep tunes on rekordbox before... im a serato dj usually.
is there a way to change the key of one track so it matches the other?
I use the ethernet on my RX1 for everything. It's been much better running ethernet over to it over a USB cable from where my stuff is and the omission of it on the RX3 is kind of a problem for me... that really sucks. Before this I had my eyes on the XZ and i'd be interested in an XZ2 if that ends up happening, but that BEST have ethernet support and for Link mode from Rekordbox. Would really suck if it didn't.
RX2 and RX3 pioneer has this driver which makes your computer thinks it’s a Ethernet or something
Would be nice if they kept the Ethernet alright. I use it on my RX1 to stream over Wi-Fi from my laptop
Would it be possible to add the DVS functionality later on down the line ?
IF you had a choice, this standalone or the Denon Prime 4, which would you choose now thar you have played with both presumably?
Maybe I missed it. Does it have a send and return to hook up rmx 1000 or samplers etc
as someone who owns the Numark mixstream pro, and for someone that uses their feet as I'm disabled, would it be possible to spin the disks without my heels pressing the buttons or?
Mo what’s your favorite controller out of all the controllers you reviewed …
Nice review. Question: so once you use usb as the source to load tracks you don't need to look into your laptop while you're playing as track selection and touchscreen is on a device itself > can you stream then from rx3 to software like obs studio so that laptop, in your dj set up, if you ever use it, has just 1 responsibility, to run streaming software, not dj software + streaming software. Or once again there is no simple way of doing it? Has anyone tested it with a good result? Thanks!
Any crashing, freezing, problems?
Question is it possible to connect this to my Akai MPC one ?
Question: How to use sync button on Pioneer DJ rx3 standalone controller when one track is 70 bpm and the other track is 140 bpm? It sounds weird when a 70 bpm track is synced to 140 bpm or the other way around. When I use Serato on a laptop, it will automatically sync them as 70 and 140 respectively, but I am not able to do the same using the sync button on the hardware.
set the other as master
The RX2 is still fine. It just looks super old because of the screen. This screen on the RX3 is such a big update. If the Prime 2 had a screen that big then the whole world would own a Prime 2. Hopefully this will motivate Denon to make a Prime 2 with a bigger screen!
I actually like this RX3. I
@@rupakmajumdar9959 Of course you do!
I like the new OS but i’ve convinced my boss to get the XZ for installation in our bar.*
*What are the odds of Pioneer releasing an XZ2?*
The 3-year refresh cycle is pretty much standard for most Pioneer DJ gear, and that came out a year ago, so…
@@Mojaxx ..Yeah, almost, the ddj 1000 din't get any treatment yet, after almost five years out there, i m looking forward for this one :)
@@Mojaxx two years now mate! End 2019.
How is your installed XZ holding up. I've seen a few pretty beat up ones in the wild.
Its a very lame iteration. 😒 Downright ridiculous compared to what Denon is pushing with FW updates alone!
After using virtual Dj nothing else can impress or come close, what a shame 🙄
Virtual DJ should be called Versatile DJ!
Hello, what USB stick should i use for XDJ RX3?
I have a question.
Mojaxx mentions that it can do a good job of beat detection of external sources, so that means streaming music, from a phone for example, isn't out of the question?
I LOVE beatport link, it's a brilliant way to hear before you buy, but you can still use it on the RX3 if it's tethered to a PC running RB?
TIA.
Daz.
BTW I've already paid for mine with a hefty deposit, I'm just waiting for delivery at the end of the month... Come on global shipping, no more excuses ;)
Jogs wheels this vs Denon prime 4 ?
Hi, does any of these do playlist auto play? For background music?
it should be possible by setting the play mode to continuous and then starting a track from a playlist. it won't crossfade or properly transition like VirtualDJ can, but it should mostly work and play the songs after each other.
Seems like a bit of a dissappointment considering the denon prime 2 has so many more features and came out much earlier at a lower price
You’re talking to def ears…
But engine software is trash. This has both Rekordbox and Serato support coming soon.
Yeas I agree.
@@DjTecniq the prime 4 has way more to offer I don't need the software to be great never owned pio.gear but I like there jogs for scratching can't do that on the prime4 jogs heavy af.
@@DjTecniq it literally has ZERO issues… but then depending on what sort of DJ you are as I don’t give a damn about these waves alignment. And it also depends on what sort of person you are. Most people struggle to just press 2 buttons at the same time.
Even if this was a fact… it’s a software, it will improve as I do remember rekordbox how it started, but hardware wise… different level.
Hi, did you take Rx3 on gigs already and did he had some issues, because I've heard that he's overheating after 3 hrs of playing in a bit hot places, and it had to restart him to continue you work. So what's you thought about this. Thank you for the contents they're very helpful always.
Here that? It’s the fits of laughter from the staff at Denon DJ 🤣
Honest review, and if like me you don’t rely on streaming services for your music then it’s a no brainier but as a serato user I’m happy with my DDJ-1000SRT but I know so many people with the previous model I wouldn’t mind one of these !!
Question, RX3 vs DDJ 1000, which would folk say is best?
I wish this had the master eq like the Xz. I love my Xz but I admit, it's huge and I carry that thing to my gigs.. This would be better suited whike retain all that I love.. The master eq is used and a few of the rooms I play in
Does it show the BPM of the turntable on the screen?
Nice product. Also I love your reviews.
The price is outrageous.
You’re frequency controls on the screen suggestion instead of the favorite effects link is brilliant. How do we suggest this to @pioneerusa ?
Also agreed on the emergency loop! @pioneerdj

ill stick with my XZ. but that gate loop is nice
Wow I use to DJ back in the 80s with vinyl on my double decks I wouldn't have a clue today them things look complicated .
How can I remove the bpm section? Thanks
My problem with pioneer controllers its the sound quality been all in one and great products they have to compromise something for offering so much and sounds its one of them. I ise to have the DDj 1000 great controller but the sound for me wasn't great I was wondering if this sounds better. Does anyone have try this one and can tell me how this sounds compared to the ddj 1000 or other controllers from pioneer?
i cant seem to make it connect to my serato dj pro even tho i downloaded the driver :/ help?
This Is a really great upgrade
"its still cheaper then one CDJ 3000" - well thats not an argument as the CDJ 3000 is the most overpriced DJ Gear in the History of DJ Equipment.
@@djmattpositive I agree with you but Pioneer is especially guilty these days when it comes to selling 10-year-old tech at exorbitant prices.
Does the RX3 have a sampler bank?
it doesn't.
Good review; I think Pioneer is trying to compete with the Denon Prime 4, which is a great setup about the same price range, and the Denon Prime is better. Now I own all Pioneer and will not change from my CDJ 2000 NX2s but still cool =)
Prime 4 isn't better lmao, Also same company. The prime 4 has more firmware issues, it does have better screen though.
real question.... can it play bandcamp WAVs...........
I think it need buy gears wisely, taking count of future trading.. RX family will be ever an interesting piece of kit retaining good money value..
That's where denon has an edge for sure.
The best way to check what is most future proof, is to see how old of a device a company's firmware dates back to.
Thanks
Hey Mojaxx,
I am downgrading my setup from a full SC6000, Xone:96, RMX, etc as I found that it was overkill to have at home and does not fit my purposes whatsoever. Because of that, I ordered an XDJ XZ which is supposed to arrive at the end of this month. Would you recommend cancelling the order for the XZ and purchasing the RX3 instead?
No. Keep your XZ!
in my opinion yes, go for RX3
XZ all the way @Camels32 . Stood in front of it, it's just bigger, full size jogwheels (and they do come with that nice screen in them). The screen is nicer on the RX2 but performance wise - and professionally - the XZ has all the other trimmings. You can even add CDJs on ethernet link and link them all together - and using turntables on separate channels is an option, too. There's nothing the matter with the RX3 but I feel like coming from your full size kit, you will start to feel slightly more hemmed in and you'll feel like you're obviously working on something a bit more condensed down. This bothers some, but not others.
You do a Xone96 away for a Pioneer?? What’s happening in this world? Everybody is losing it😧😧😧
@@RC75 good way to make some money - I've had overkill kit at home before and if you're not taking it to venues and using it, then you might as well make some coin. It depends where we are in our own lives.
Like your pioneer review's
I tried a ddj 1000 but i didnt like the quality of the jog wheels compared to cdj 2000 or 3000.
I have the RX1 which for my needs suits me fine
However, my only gripe, and which they still haven't changed on the RX3, is the piss poor microphone EQ of just Lo and Hi.
Conclusion ? Let's wait for the release of XDJ XZ2 somewhere like 2022/2023
Pioneer doing what pioneer does. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Within the next few years they'll probably realize that wasnt the best business plan
Yup
