I'm pretty sure it has Deck 3+4 switches on the touchscreen somewhere if running via rekordbox DJ - so it should function as a typical 4 channel controller that way
I have a question regarding the 4 deck option when using rekordbox/serato. Say you want to do a triple drop as follows: Deck 1: Track = 100 BPM | Pitch = 0% Deck 2: Track = 110 BPM | Pitch = ~-9.9% to match to 100 BPM Deck 3: Track = 100 BPM | Pitch = 0% I'd beatmatch Deck 1 with Deck 3 both with the pitch control at 0%, then I'd switch to deck 2 using the shift button and adjust the pitch control to -9.9%. Now if I want to slightly adjust deck 1 and switch back to Deck 1, will the bpm immediatly switch to 91 instead of 100 because the pitch slider is down at -9.9% for deck2?
I just bought this controller, Ive always used turntables, and Cdj nexus. But I bought this so if they want me to play at someone small, I can just bring this and usb sticks, i don't play with laptops. But is there a way to change the curve on the crossfader, cuz I scratch with my house music, and I dont like when it gets lower when I pass the halfway part of the fader
There is something important that i think is not clear. The soundcard, so the audio quality, I reed that in the xdj xz is not 24bits/192khz, so the audio quiality of the equipment is not equal to a cdj nexus setup. That is the only thing that keeps me wondering if I wan't to buy it or not.
I got my hands on a Prime 4 at Guitar Center the other day finally...holy crap what a joke...the thing is a toy. Build quality obviously doesn't matter to some people...let alone size (the thing is a controller for ants imo). For those of us who are used to performing live on an nx2 setup (which should be a lot of us if you're more than a hobbiest) this controller is the answer...and a very affordable one at that.
@@darsure3006 That's not what I've heard. Across the board it has had praise. Engine Prime is it's only short fall. This unit only offers half of what the Prime does for less money.... You couldn't be more wrong.

Also, it offers half how? 98% of the DJs out there don't actually ever mix more than 2 tracks competently...outside of that this is basically an nx2 setup...the mixer is better than the mixer in the prime 4, the jog wheels are a no-contest, the beat pads are bigger, and the FX are better. Sorry but I don't think I'm wrong at all. Do you play out a lot? When I play out there is almost always an nx2 setup there, and this controller is basically the same thing but for thousands less. The only thing that's holding it back is engine prime but they are working on that and it's improved a lot over the last couple of years. I really believe that denon is gonna become the new industry standard if pioneer doesn't finally start improving their products.
I have 2 xdj1000mk2 and a djm 450, I got it with the intention of replicating a club setup at home but I want 4 channels (or at least 3) and I don't ever plan on dropping 6k+ for a Nexus setup. Should I wait for pioneer to drop something new considering they just got bought out or sell my 450 and one xdj and get this?
Is there any practical difference between the master eq and an Isolator like those made by Bozure or featured on the Rane MP2015? could this be used in an expressive way while mixing? Great review as always
I wondered the same initially, but it's not a full cut - and there's no option to make it so in the settings either. So you could use it in that way up to a point, but it's not the same as a proper isolator.
So my XDJ-RX just died, does not power on. Seems not worth to waste money to repair it. Was thinking about getting this XDJ-XZ but again will be in the situation if it dies everything is gone. for the same price I can get a setup with 2 x XDJ-700 and a DJM-400. XZ is however just released VS XDJ-700 and 1000MK2s that were released in 2016. on the other hand XDJ-700s have 7 in touchscreens that are great and more like CDJS where as XZ no touch screen and all in one that if it dies the entire investment is lost. Any opinions on which way to go?
Hi, can I ask you something . I love all this DJ equipment, all the players, and i want to bye some of these. I ask, is it possible on some of these dj players to autoplay all songs in the usb, with auto adjust and sync tempo on fixed value, auto mix crossfade like 4 sec mix time, and use the player like ordinary mp3 player ? I am not DJ but I am crazy about these players and want to play at home.
Hi One really important question for me. Is there any possibility to connect Pioneer RMX 1000 station to XDJ-XZ in same way like for example to DJM 900NXS2 ?? I would like to take full advantage of its possibilities.
In a word no. For it to be fully functional you need a send/return. There's a way you can run it over the master but this means you're effecting both tracks at once rather than being able to isolate it to one channel. Not good at all. limits it very much.
I’m not sure if it would be a waste upgrading to the xz but it would definitely be a waste getting the rx2 when you already have the original. There’s not enough extra features on the rx2 to make it worth your while.
I have the RX2 ….so jump to the XZ if not for only the 7" platters and the master out EQ and the option to connect cdj , etc. I have played around on prime 4 it feels very cheep compared to pioneer. yes I would like a bigger screen but the prime 4 screen crap and even the way it is attatched is crap.
@@alancahill1 agreed on the prime 4, it feels like a toy...I would say the biggest difference between this and the rx2 is the full sized jog wheels...for me that is a HUGE deal so I'm defo going XZ
@vito G my buddy has the rx2 he loves it you could never go wrong with either. I’m yet to read about the functionality regarding 4 decks on serato other than that though I believe this controller is better
I plug my XDJ-RX into my WiFi router using a LAN cable and rekordbox sees the RX over WiFi. Does this have the same feature as that is a big thing for me as my computer is situated in my studio upstairs.
That has nothing to do with the unit but with your network setup, you can connect to a CDJ on the other side of the world over internet if you setup your network to support it, not something this unit has anything to do with but completely depends on your network and how you set it up.
I appreciate this was a quick look, but this just doesn’t seem exciting. The Denon Prime stuff has been out a few years now and I’d still pick that over this. Even the Prime4 seems more exciting, even if this has slightly better features
I agree it's really dumb to bury it like that. If you want to just throw in some scratching in an otherwise traditional mix it's really nice to be able to change the curve whenever you want easily. I guess you can just use the line faders to mix and keep the fader set to cut mode if you know you'll be doing it.
this is the big deciding factor for me...because the denon sc5000Ms + x1800 bundle are on sale for $1000 off right now, I'm actually going to try them first and see how much I like them, might not go with the XZ after all, if only due to the fact that the xfader is not interchangeable...nor is it magvel...which is absolutely baffling...I could even cope with the 2 channels thing, but the crappy xfader on such a nice controller is really a shame
Exactly, if you’re going to buy this unit only to use the 2 channels standalone and the other 2 with a laptop. Then you’re better off buying the SRT or 1000. If you already own cdjs, instead of buying a djm 900 mixer, you’re better off buying this unit .
@@Alex121sm1 I use both CDJs(recordbox USB) in club and Serato at times, I like the option to get my USB access at home, so this works for me, no chance Im buying a full CDJ setup so this is best for me.

Do the feet adjust or they just for aesthetics just it just sit on the base of unit
Ultimate controller, real nice
I'm pretty sure it has Deck 3+4 switches on the touchscreen somewhere if running via rekordbox DJ - so it should function as a typical 4 channel controller that way
dubble press shift apparently
I have a question regarding the 4 deck option when using rekordbox/serato. Say you want to do a triple drop as follows:
Deck 1: Track = 100 BPM | Pitch = 0%
Deck 2: Track = 110 BPM | Pitch = ~-9.9% to match to 100 BPM
Deck 3: Track = 100 BPM | Pitch = 0%
I'd beatmatch Deck 1 with Deck 3 both with the pitch control at 0%, then I'd switch to deck 2 using the shift button and adjust the pitch control to -9.9%.
I think it has the same soundcard as the ddj 1000
@@signsofthetimes886 I think is a bit better, i read is 96khz/24bits, the ddj1000 i think is 48khz/24bits
@@joaquinbenabentos they're both 24bit/44.1khz according to sweetwater.com
If I plug a USB Drive in to the XZ, can I access the tunes on connected CDJ2000s? Providing they are linked of course.
Do you think it’s possible to midi map a button to make it possible to switch from deck 1,2 to deck 3,4?
Denon Prime 4 all the way.
@@hyperfocus4866 'not what I've heard' lol...I've owned a ddj-sz and I have actually played on a prime 4...so I think it's actually you who are dead wrong and basing your bullshit opinion on hearsay, seeing as how you've never even played on one.
Prime 4 just doesn't have the build quality.
@@darsure3006 damn near 2020 and Pioneer fanboys still regurgitating the same Denon bashing BS...I feel like I'm reading DJforum threads from 2004...Pioneer fanboys still can't come to terms that Pioneer is no longer the "industry standard" they once were.
The same person reviewing this kit is the same person that praised the build quality of the Prime 4 yet you want to call out others for "hearsay".
@@apexpredator_jku I've played both pioneer and denon kit a lot and I can say that the denon build quality is just as good, if not better, than the pionneer stuff. Not saying that pioneer is bad, it's not, but the denon stuff just offers a lot more for much less money. Just try It out yourself and you'll love it. The only thing that's holding it back is engine prime but they are working on that and it's improved a lot over the last couple of years. I really believe that denon is gonna become the new industry standard if pioneer doesn't finally start improving their products.
Can you use effects apps on a iPad for instance connected through the usb?
Am I wrong in thinking the extension port could also be used for the DJS-1k?? One could have 4 decks running and then the DJS via the aux in??
Quite possibly. That integration is something I’ll have to investigate thoroughly.
hi , would these pioneer xdj-xz support and play usb 3.1 256gb or 512gb like sandisk or kingston usb
@DJcityTV. . . Can this controller record your mixes internally? Just asking in general
With a usb stick yes.
Is there screen-lagging? Like the RX2 sometimes seems to be having...
Right? Mine does the same. I was hoping a firmware update would fix it but nothing so far...
I have 2 xdj1000mk2 and a djm 450, I got it with the intention of replicating a club setup at home but I want 4 channels (or at least 3) and I don't ever plan on dropping 6k+ for a Nexus setup. Should I wait for pioneer to drop something new considering they just got bought out or sell my 450 and one xdj and get this?
why do my track start directly when I load it to a deck? do you know how I can change that ? thx
Mojaxx Ah I thought that might be the case, could be a handy tool nonetheless! Cheers
Can the effects be used on the phone channels? Cheers
I would appreciate if you could make a video with the XDJ-XZ & DJS-1000 Sampler hooked together and using @ least 3 channel in Standalone mode ;-)
How do you customize the artwork in the center display, I’m having trouble getting that to change on a CDJ1000
Im using rekordbox, guessing thats the only way to get it to work
Also have LiveDJ, DJayPRO2, Sereto
@@brandongoeckner6602 how did you get an XZ already? if retail can you tell me who has them already?
Hi
One really important question for me.
@@bgstemcd Thanks A lot
I think id still go with the SRT since i use serrate mainly.
What's the best way to connect a DJS1000 to this unit for full integration?
In 10 years time pioneer be making the XXJ-XX
I'm looking forward to the xdj-xxx
I have the first xdj-rx and ive been thinking of upgrading
You guys think would be a waste of money? Should i just get an rx 2?
I’m not sure if it would be a waste upgrading to the xz but it would definitely be a waste getting the rx2 when you already have the original. There’s not enough extra features on the rx2 to make it worth your while.
It would be a waste if you brought anyone of these when you can get a prime 4 if u don't already have one ijs
Rx2 bro!!
@@alancahill1 agreed on the prime 4, it feels like a toy...I would say the biggest difference between this and the rx2 is the full sized jog wheels...for me that is a HUGE deal so I'm defo going XZ
Also , your quick thoughts on .. im torn between xdj rx2 to this ?.
@vito G my buddy has the rx2 he loves it you could never go wrong with either. I’m yet to read about the functionality regarding 4 decks on serato other than that though I believe this controller is better
When will you do a full review on the DDJ-800?
Is Serato DJ working on it yet?
Can someone explain why I can't use my XDJ XZ as a standalone even if the tracks got already analyzed by Rekordbox??
jog wheels are 8 in not 7 in
What is better the xdj - xz vs rzx pioneers flagship
Can I use and iPad Pro with record box to control all 4 channels?
Nice review. So no Sample pads? Seems a tad bit strange, especially for future Serato users who maybe be used to other controllers or SP1 for example
All I can say is really pioneer
Fantastic Unit. I live Doing with Pioneer gears.
pioneer. getting over!
Is this a hint at what the XDJ-2000 Nexus x will look like?
that will never ever ever ever ever be a thing. Think about it for two seconds, an nx2 setup costs 5 grand more than this
Dar Sure thus why I am in the market for an Denon DJ SC5000m.
so will this have 4 deck support for serato dj ?
It has
I appreciate this was a quick look, but this just doesn’t seem exciting. The Denon Prime stuff has been out a few years now and I’d still pick that over this. Even the Prime4 seems more exciting, even if this has slightly better features
BAGUS BANGET MANTAP. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Denon Prime 4 is the winner here! Way more bang 4 the buck!
When playing off laptop ..can u use 4 channels?
Yes. Tap Shift button to switch between the channels.
I miss the Sampler function of the pad.
can you zoom in on waveforms on this?
You can with the browser nob
I'm throwing my nexus 2 and buying this masterpiece
Really ?! 😱
Same
Is it is stand alone?? Add two more external decks you have 4 Channels no computer? Is that right?
Leigh Janes no only 2 stand alone decks 😕
Rico Russo is the two external inputs cannot be used with two more CDJs while using channel 1 and 2 in stand alone? That can’t be right surly?
Leigh Janes channel 3&4 you can use with external gear. The sequence is 3,1,2,4 like mostly used in EU
I dont know if its possible to use stand alone and external @ the same time but it would be ridiculuos 🙈
Leigh Janes as far as i could see on pictures it must be possible
Does it work with VIRTUAL DJ ??
2.200€!? Just get a prime 4
The only thing i like about this controller are the jog wheels but yes i'll take the denon it's a pity i don't DJ anymore
IAM selling my s8 for the Denon.
Michael I switched from an s4 to the Prime 4 as well, can only recommend it!
@@peterpeter5214 sold the moment I looked into it Peter...IAM impressed thank you.
I agree!! Prime 4 it is
i change crossfader curve all the time they should have put a nob on the front
I agree it's really dumb to bury it like that. If you want to just throw in some scratching in an otherwise traditional mix it's really nice to be able to change the curve whenever you want easily. I guess you can just use the line faders to mix and keep the fader set to cut mode if you know you'll be doing it.
no magvell fader?? why??
this is the big deciding factor for me...because the denon sc5000Ms + x1800 bundle are on sale for $1000 off right now, I'm actually going to try them first and see how much I like them, might not go with the XZ after all, if only due to the fact that the xfader is not interchangeable...nor is it magvel...which is absolutely baffling...I could even cope with the 2 channels thing, but the crappy xfader on such a nice controller is really a shame
Not sure I see the point of having the option to add vinyl decks but not be able to use them alongside the CDJ's.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
24bit 44 ? or 24 96 ?
Dvs only on channels 1 and 2 makes no sense, this setup with pair of turntables makes the jog wheels useless
love it #getvizual
Wow wtf... I have been hoping for exactly this with support for Serato DJ. But the NOT HAVING 4 DECK?! Fuck
Actually kinda glad I didn't go for the 1000 SRT, this looks nice.
If you spin with ur laptop the 1000 srt is a better choice. Cheaper & 4 channel use at once
@@Alex121sm1 The 1000 isn't a standalone controller. It requires a laptop to work. If you already own CDJs, why would you buy this?
Jupiter Son thanks for telling me something I already knew 😂 I own the ddj 1000.
