@@bostedtap8399 As long as she has been working with him for, I bet she could figure it out pretty good. I would love to see a episode where they switch places for the day!
I fell asleep waiting for CEE, wife Karen, married 53 years, woke me up and said your favorite machine shop show is on! OK, thanks. Watched Kurtis do his magic with KAREN'S supervising and doing HER magic on the camera, got to see Homeless, my German Shepard loves hearing Homeless play. He sits next to me, watching what's going on. I love all the machine work! THANK YOU FOR SHARING (PARTS) OF YOUR DAY WITH US. STAY SAFE!

The director, cameraman, editor and Kurtis's wife put up with a hell of a lot. Having to deal with temperamental talent that forgets their lines all the time :/ Absolutely awesome creative work on your filming and editing Karen.
I think Karen and Kurtis are codirectors, and Karen is the camera person and editor. I enjoy turning a part into a tool. It saves a few steps. Thanks for the videos...
She should get an Academy award. If you see people getting one for making a movie with real actors then Karen is doing a great job making movies with a lesss then stellar actor (but a good machinist) 😂
2:22 I never understood how the springs in a flexplate are supposed to work. After seeing this one taken apart, it finally clicked. Thanks for all the videos!
Indeed! Those segments would make a great stand alone short on the subject. Be sure to watch outtakes for additional nuggets on this adapter and flex-plates in general.
What I like about this channel is there in no drama, must be an Aussie thing and everything is explained which is really useful when your clueless like me. 😂🤣
Kurtis is right at home working on anything automotive related, loved the comparison to his old drift cars. Kind of surprised to see the outtake of the bickering but also noted it ended with laughter. You two are a real fire and ice, oil and water couple. Karen has the patience of a saint!
Outstanding video. I thought the 'horses for courses' process of changing inserts as the characteristics of the material changed was enlightening. I also appreciated the work Karen did with the split screen of the 'centering on the mill' process. Watching the table movement and the edge finder and then the actual key strokes on the DRO was very educational. Yes, we've all read about what to do, and many have actually done it, but for those of us just getting start, a true learning experience. The "here is what I am thinking, here are the key strokes so I have the information I need" is what makes these videos a level above the rest. Thanks
The cinematography here is next-level. Loved the shot of the tabs hitting the floor. Pure artistry. And Homeless steals the show again. He's such a good boy.
Karen find interest and beauty in things that are seemingly industrial and dull. Amazing work from a two person team... okay, okay, Homeley says three.

@@CuttingEdgeEngineering Oh that's a tough question. The Franna project has been great, and the workshop upgrades, and shop made tool videos are a great watch. Great job, full professionalism as usual. It's a pity that these films are so short and only once a week. It's a great pleasure to watch your works. Honey to my heart ❤❤❤.

Real people making real amazing parts and doing amazing things. Just love how Karen lays it down, and Kurtis does as he’s told. 😊. As always…. An amazing job. Thank you for sharing.
Played around swapping flexplates most of my teen and adult years. Learned more about them from a short Curtis explanation than I have from mechanics and parts suppliers.
I have a Fiat Panda 1.3 diesel (basically the same mechanical and suspension as the Fiat 500. It was bought (cheap) with a damaged engine. I took out the whole lump so I could work on the bench. Gearbox off, engine sorted but I could not get the gearbox to line up. It’s on the bench how hard can it be? Took it apart then noticed the (obviously low miles) clutch plate rattled. WTF? The riveted flex plate was falling apart. I bought a new diesel spec clutch. It was obviously much tougher built. The engine had the wrong clutch. Probably 1.4 petrol spec. That snag saved me a destroyed clutch a few miles down the road.
Watching those bird's nests wrap around the chuck made me remember a shop teacher I had back in the 90s. His rule was that you were to stop cutting every .063 to allow the chip to break naturally, regardless of what it did to your tool or part. If he caught you with a nest like that he'd chew you out and sit you in the dummy corner for the next week (found out the hard way a couple times myself). Also, valuable lesson here, don't try matching splines if you can cannibalize good scrap.
Great video. The filming of the machinery working . Karen you are fabulous. Curtis your skills remind of my dad. He was a machinest on the railroads back in the day of steam . Love to watch hime work his magic with metal just as you do.

My cheap Chinese setup cost me about $175. I am still breaking bits because the thread on the spool is not straight lol. I am trying to make a 1 inch by 2 inch bronze cartoon plaque for my son who past away 7 months ago from cancer at the age of 16. This is my 4th attempt. Love your video, I always look forward to watching it after work.
Well, we had the family viewing on Saturday evening after dinner. Apparently Bella and Halgrim were not so interested in dynos or hard steel, so they both curled up and listened to Kurtis and the machines. Only when Homie turned up did they watch intensively. Karin and I, however, enjoyed every minute of the action. Seeing the 10 mm endmill go through the plate was satisfying. Thanks, as always, for the great entertainment and information. Hope you are having a pleasant Sunday. Warmest greetings from the Boscheks in Germany.
Great video, and I liked the split screen! But as interesting as the job was, the outtakes with you guys was priceless! 👍I can just imagine what it must be like with the humidity there! Maybe a couple of big wall mount fans?
Absolutely love the variety of content you present to us. Obviously there would be a lot of deja vu with the work you get, but the odds and ends happening enough to come out with the exceptional content you create is fantastic. Thanks for everything guys!
As usual, excellent content! Great demonstration of machinist skills showing decades of experience. The videos also show excellent video editing skills. Love your video, I always look forward to watching it after work.
Thanks for my weekly dose of Homeless trying to destroy something, after the few weeks I've just had I needed that.
Maybe a couple of big wall mount fans?
hey mate, we've got 2 wall mounted fans that are on we aren't videoing, it just causes big issues with audio when trying to run them while filming 😭
Ah, got the picture, guess you grit and bear it is the only option
Absolutely love the variety of content you present to us. Obviously there would be a lot of deja vu with the work you get, but the odds and ends happening enough to come out with the exceptional content you create is fantastic. Thanks for everything guys!
Watching the outtakes at the end we find out that Karen really is the boss. 😅😅😅
Give Homeless a belly rub for me and y'all stay safe.
there are those who talk and those who do
Curtis is no talker!
but he can Certainly DO!
best wishes guys and hope you have a great week :)
Look at all that forbidden fairy floss getting caught! Looks like a pain in the ass!
As usual, excellent content! Great demonstration of machinist skills showing decades of experience. The videos also show excellent video editing skills. So, thanks to Karen for taking the time to shoot and edit these videos. The artful speeding up through the repetitious bits is greatly appreciated and keeps the videos interesting. Thank You!
