Seems like the technique is getting a hit on the internet.. I was amazed by the results shown in some of the reels but more surprised to see this was done 11 years back.. ☠️
Oh shi. I ain’t even notice this was 11 years ago. Good looks bro
The result with red and black is very impressive! Good job!
Love both. The blue looks like ice and the red.... I would love to see some with a darker green and black like the red one.
Hello, its a Cormack Iwata 1mm. I dont know what air pressure it was at but the regulator dial was set to one turn out. Applying the basecoat is fairly easy and most spray guns will give a good base finish.
They both look great! I would love to paint a guitar with this effect.
@Isaac James Sturdee yes but you would have to use a primer first. then apply the basecoats.
should do chrome underneeth then the crystal then red on top. will that work??and how will that look. just thought about it for my truck hood.
You could use color shift paint under the crystal paint and I bet it would be insane looking
that red on black is really slick, Im just wondering if the same could be done with gold colored crystals on a black background. That would be sharp on my Harley
You can apply these crystals to any solid surface. As long as the topcoat that is sprayed over the crystal mask can adhere to the surface it will be fine. For bare metal spraying an etch primer then a base colour first is recommended.
I work in the sign industry. This product could be worth some big bucks for the right customer . Thanks for the vid !
Urea crystals and distilled water with detergent makes the crystal FX additive.
wow. the red one came out amazing. Never seen this technique before
I don't know shit about painting but that was pretty f******* nice bro. Now im going to 2tone my 01 excursion, can't wait. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks for posting. This has given me a lot of ideas for traditional painting!
Cool, New video about fixing scratched plastic is out soon.
wow that is really nice work I like all of your videos please don't never stop making them I learned a lot from you because how you step it out detail by detail thank you don't be like everybody else and not respond
ok
Hello, Just scuff your panel with grey scotch pads then apply the crystals. Then your black basecoat, Rub off the crystals then clear.
Nice video of real time scrubbing off the crystals, thanks mate. If you haven't already maybe a marble effect video please, i'll check now. 👍
always wondered how this was done.. a guy that lives near me has his entire truck painted red/black. looks amaziinng the closer you get.
on the black and red are you spraying Primer, then Met Silver, Then Candy Red, then crystal, Then Black, then Sand and clear coat?
Once the crystals are removed it should be as flat as can be. no need to spray extra coats. I only sprayed 2 coats of clear.
Hey I got a metal cart from my workplace before they threw it out. I want to make it my turntable and record holer with lights. I have painted it blue from black already. But I want to add detail. Any suggestions??? Actually my husband did the base color cause freaked and didnt want to ruin it. I have an idea in my head for adding detail. I checked out stencils at Michaels. Any ideas. The blues is already done...I'm seeing details in black and silver.
Yeah it would work on a rocker cover. Apply the last coat of colour very lightly and it will be easier to remove the crystals.
Cool effect. I get something similar ish using a feather duster. Almost looks like galvanized surfaces. Stippling the color(s). It’s an old theatre scenic technique. Schlepitchka. Haha. Google that
Nice work on your spraying and techniques.
if i were to do this to a vehicle, could the crystal stuff be sprayed through a spray gun?
Anything with a free air delivery of over 200 Liters Per Minute. The size of the motor and tank or the CFM will all contribute to how long the compressor will last over time. Liters Per Minute will supply the gun with the pressure it needs.
Why not just use serán plastic to wet paint to get same pattern,, then clear coat?? I have used this method and it is very easy and looks amazing,, great job thanks for sharing,,,👍🏼👍🏼
Will the crystal effect work with a waterbazes acrylic paint?
Ejat steps would you have to add subtract skip or save for later ...lol... to add more colors to the patern lats say you wanna do a purple and green with some black in there for accent how would one go about doing that... or ever black and white accents
great paint job what are the mixture and the brand for the material
It can be done with spray cans.
do ya reckon it would be all good for a beginner to do?
I have used crystal fx with mixed results. First you are spraying the contrast color on to wet. Its more of a mist coast. U should just be able to remove with a wet sponge if u need to use a scuff pad then u went to wet. Also temperature can make the affect go from small webs if its hot to long web affect if its cold. Also i usually spray on a cleared surface. This can also make a different affect if you sand the clear in circles the web affect will look like swirl affect if it sand straight the web will be longer. Its a cool affect but tricky get.
Where can you buy this stuff like to try it out
rttguy1969 alsa paint supply or coastairbrush
I think the red one turned out way better but good job on both!
im goning to start doing this soon, after i practise with spray cans and on a spare pannel .
Fantastic work! Those pieces turned out freaken awesome!
Parabéns
@ashvx Yeah but its flammable so its quite expensive.
That's alot of work I would rather just go marbelizer and call it a day. But it does look amazing. Great work.
what is the correct name of this product? I'm from Serbia, so I'm interested in whether it can be found on eBay
Could you possibly try something like this to a dash of a car?
interesting can we know where to buy? kindly send link for purchase?
Will this work on a bike frame though?
Great video! Looks awesome. Cant wait to try this out myself
It's not for me, but this fellow really is an artist...
best invention since the wheel
I am wondering if just a translucent paint would work as a top coat rather than thinning it so much... any input?
fuck do a whole car with this shit lol. would look insane
That maroon and black would look sick on my 78 Trans Am. Hmmmmm
Is that only for candy paint or can that be done with any paint?
Hi nice job, can it use a pearl 2k top coat over the crystal or does it have to be candy transparent?
Good job man, Seems like you're genuinely having fun now!!
what is a partner of crystal green,to become an apple green?
what size tip for spraying the crystals
looks fantastic.. Im planning on re-painting my custom built motorbike soon, might try this on the tank :)
i was wondering.. The colour i want my bike to be, i can only get the paint in Cellulose.. But i want the paint durable from fuel etc.. Can i clear coat 2K over it? to give it that protection.. or can you not paint 2k over cellulose?
cheers
What is the chemical name of the crystallizing stuff? Is it available in other countries as well? you see we have import taxes which pretty much dubble the price of the product if I would order it in US so yeah..
Not a fan of the blue. Love the red though.
Gavina Reyes lmfao
That looks really cool
so wait after you scrub off the crystals do you need spay another coat of the base or just clear coat? by the way the red does look better.
Awesome video
Will using metal flakes on clear coat cover up the effect?
looks so cool loved the effect thanks for sharing this video
Red looked real good
After this would you then sand it down to give your final finish?
Whats the difference between this and a candy finish????
I have a guitar that I've been looking for the right paint combination for. I think this works. Can you provide a list of the materials and color codes used for the red? I own a custom car paint shop...I wanna get it right.
Loving the red one, what colour was that?
Hi Dave, I am wondering if these paints, the metallic paints and the crystal effects work on wood projects? and what I might have to do to get these paints on wood and get them to have a similar result
Are those just Solid Basecoats, and solid contrast? Also would it work with Candies?
How long do you leave it before sanding to get the affect
Cool paint job. I'm just wondering if the crystals are safe to use on plastics? Thinking of applying that color scheme to my scale model. TIA
i like the look but how smooth could you get it? i mean if you had to sand it how easy is it to mess up the look?
I love the red and black, it's got a really expensive look to it.
@customspraymods you should upload a video with a tutorial on how to paint obejcts and what type of paint to use porfa/please
How much crystal effect price
on the red panel, do u wet sand the masking coat or just use some course sponge? and do you lay another red after the sanding or you just spray clearcoat? thanks bro.. great video btw..
Wow, very nice job
If your after a candy look just clear over the candy basecoats.
i know this might be a dumb question but what size compressor is good for spraying a car without interuption?
I love every painting jobs that you made dude! Awesome!🤓🤓 If u're in my country trust me, i might send to you my bike every 3-6months to be custom paint job😊😅😅👍. Anyway, keep the good work!🤓
Looks nice Dave. Keep it up.
Can we get more information on this liquid??
On the red fender" did you use red kandy over silver. Or red base coat?
i was worried when it turned out like hard snot when the crystal dried...but wow the end result is show worthy
Hey i need to know. I have my own car colored dark red. How can i do it with crytal? Can i do crystal on it or do i have to paint white then red then black for crystal then candy red? Or what?
What kind of paint do you use? Love the vids man informative and funny.
would it be possible to do this on a rocker cover?
Looks stunning. Thank you for sharing the technic
whoa....looks like the fumes got to you for a moment there mate.... can you tell me what kind/brand of spray gun you are using? and also where can I get one... thanks
can it be done on plastics?
Yes, that would look great.
Can I combine this with crackle paint
where can you get the cans then??
I have a Vespa that red would awesome on .
hey mate, could you do a video using that LunarAluzionz Mabrilazer paint from vg auto paint cause i'm curious to see what it looks like.
I'm planning to respray my car champagne and to paint the interior trims champagne but with either the mutant crystals or this marbilizer stuff
What’s the name of the color/paint?
by sanding it does it go smooth or does the final have a little texture
That looks awesome..
Are you using lacquer based? Waterborne based? Or urethane based colors?
thanks mate, im going to go spray my bike like this :D ill get some picks up when i am done :)
What was that white Cote?
