    I had someone tonight that went to Rich's facility for instruction with his son and he came and taught the basics to 3 of my baseball players tonight. I will say this, after an hour and half of understanding the snap of the wrist with the tilt and leg drive, my players were balanced and the ball jumped off their bat like I have never seen before. We are in the early stages of this, but it was very helpful with producing power and quickness

    Can you do some videos or drills for a tee ball player, to start them on the right path early? What would you suggest, maybe an approach for a 6 year old?

    Does your swing technique apply to slow pitch softball?

    After about a year, still studying, practicing and applying this technique. At 47, still playing baseball in MSBL this really works. Would love to get some one on one time with Teacherman. I definitely buy into this. The results are awesome.

    Push pull method...Right handed or left handed will determine which hand is pulling and which hand is pushing...

    I used to coach high baseball and I played in college. I really think you have unlocked the code. One piece of advice on your instruction: don't show the wrong way to do it, especially so many times. It makes it difficult to learn. Who cares about the wrong way, they will be doing it the right way. People tend to want to repeat what they see and it is hard for their brain to filter out seeing it the wrong way. Just my two cents. Again, nice job cracking the code

    Does snapping the bat require some additional exercises to facilitate wrist flexibility? Would that be necessary?

    • @evanleach3186
      @evanleach3186 Год назад +1

      Nah, it's just to give the bat some early speed and direction behind the ball. The swing is mainly powered by the coiled rear leg bursting out of resistance. Snap the bat backwards and let the leg burst you to contact at the same time

    The strike zone has gotten tons wider in youth baseball. My 14U son got rung up last night on a ball well within the other batter's box. To me, you can't "break the pole in half" on a defensive swing for something that's well off of the plate like that. What are your suggestions to get to that sort of ball if there's an umpire with such a wide strike zone....besides just sticking your bat out and hoping for the best?

      Check out Rizzo's 2 strike approach. He chokes up and throws his hands only. You are correct in noticing that you are sacrificing bat control for power, which is another reason why strike outs are up in MLB. No one has a two strike approach anymore.

    i agree with everything here, the only question is why arent you showing your feet? i know the feeling is back legged, but 100% your foot hits the ground before you snap the barrel and your back foot turns fully. you cannot achieve the snap and rotation that you have from one foot, it has to be two footed it just has to feel like it is all back leg. every drill is to pretend like you could hit from your back leg, but every single time it is done properly and with the most explosion, the front foot comes down, even if softly to anchor all of the snap that is being created from the hands and hips.
    to even be more exact, it is the moment that your heel hits that triggers your snapping of the barrel. so when do you snap the barrel? when you feel like it, or as your heel hits in order to stabilize all of the violence that is about to occur...........

    So I have a question and I've heard you say two different things on the subject in two different videos. 1. One video you said to feel like you're smacking the catcher on the head with the bat as you snap the bat backwards. ruclips.net/video/xK3GKxYuR5w/видео.html 2. On another video you say not to go from catcher to pitcher but to snap back with the knob pointing at 2nd (right handed batter). ruclips.net/user/shorts0zMteB-k_74
    My question is, when I'm teaching my students, which is the correct way to teach them? Knob to 2nd (R handed batter) or knob to pitcher with the feeling of smacking the catcher on the head?

    • @michaelpalmer8915
      @michaelpalmer8915 Год назад

      The smacking of the catcher is just a mental thought to demonstrate the 'breaking' motion with the hands which has rarely been discussed, if at all, about the proper way to swing a bat. Forever it's been terrible to 'drop the head' of the bat when swinging. It's a large part of why I think TeacherMan gets so much hate. But you go look at any homerun and the barrel is going to be below the hands at contact.
      Opposite side middle infielder for the knob is the direction. There isn't an efficient or practical way to actually smack the catcher and still hit the ball. You would have to point the knob to the same side middle infielder and then your wrists, elbows, trunk, everything is in a bad spot.

    So what your saying is to snap the pole to get the power and in plane, then let the rotation carry the bat through?
