Absolutely. As mentioned below, I played the demo of AC6 at my old pal Vinny's house and it was unforgettable. ACX is also an absolute favorite of mine from the past. Last summer when I went to Japan I scooped up Joint Assault at a GEO and, while the planes flew like kites, I was pretty stoked to have a fluid camera and to be able to fly an A6M2 and Hellcat! (And the 747 was...surprisingly fun!)
For some reason I think the mass battles in AC6 are somewhat better than the AC7's. I just want Namco to give us an Ace Combat with ACZ's story, AC5's epic tale and AC6's/AC7's gameplay mechanics and massive battles.
I don't think AC6 is as bad as everyone says it is. The cutscenes are really great, and the story is not that bad. It's more of the somewhat stiff dialogue that sometimes makes the game sound goofy. But everything else, it's my absolute favorite AC game. The combat is so fun and the missions are great. I don't think AC7 really compares to AC6 in overall experience, though I love them both.
@@lukasi.v4269 that's because they actually are. AC7's "mass battle" design relies on the AC5 approach of sticking allies on your butt while you do most of the work. At times, they'll help you whittle down an enemy's HP, but they'll never killsteal from you unless it's scripted or non-TGT enemies far from your currently selected target. They still do some work though, which makes the experience less cumbersome but at the cost of a less thrilling gameplay. AC6's on the other hand, designed to make you feel like the *cough* _singularity_ *cough* that turns the tide of the battle. Everyone and everything on your side _relies on you_ until you build up that missile charge and make Ichiiro Itano proud. Of course, this does mean your allies suck ass, but the sheer number of killing +150 enemies on a regular mission with double the time limit (30 minutes instead of the regular 15) makes you feel like a damn superweapon. @Nassault yeah, some aspects of JA is good. But after replaying it years after it launched, I learned that its overall gameplay degraded from ACX's perfect portable downsizing of the core AC4 experience.

I watch your videos for a different reason than most. I'm always impressed with your cinematic instincts. An interesting side note is that I was in the U.S. Navy in the late 80s/early 90s. As a very necessary part of my job I had to learn the capabilities and threats of all these Soviet air platforms. Of course there was never any hostile encounter between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. during that time (besides a few (unofficial) "games" of "chicken") so this has an added interest for me to see what *might* have happened if there had been. A certain ... satisfaction ... (all due respects to our Russian counterparts) to watch a Bear Bravo experience, uh ..., forced disassembly, ... um ..., unscheduled rapid field alterations like that.

that makes two of us! I was only 2 when the first one came out. Didn't get a taste of Ace Combat until I bought (probably traded) Ace Combat 04 from an old friend in the back row of a quiet school bus on a foggy morning in 2005. I remember taking it out of my backpack just to get a glance at the booklet insert throughout the school day, so interested. Little did I know, that was only the beginning.. Sitting Ducks blew me away. What was you first one?
I started from Ace Combat 2. It was one of the first games I got on PS 1. I remember it took my child brain weeks to figure out that when the target becomes red and you hear the beeping sound, it means that you got a missile lock and then you shoot. After that I must have played through the first few missions like 15 times before my parents bought me a memory card. And the rest is history.
This series is older than me by about a year, and the story of strangreal is my favorite out of any game series I've come across. An Arcadey Fighter game has no reason to have a story THAT good, yet, here we are. AC04 was my first, and it holds up even better than I remember.
Heh, I actually first played AC2 when I was 2 years old lol, and immediately played AC3 the year after--when AC3 first released. One of the things I remember very clearly from Air Combat was the missile warning alarm; it was bone chilling especially when fighting an AEGIS Cruiser and was downright terrifying to then 10 year old me.

Ace Combat 5 is still one of the best PS2 games, and one of the best AC games. I picked up AC7 a few months ago, and it really reminds me of 5. It looks like what I imagined 5 to be, all those years ago.
It’s amazing how much this series has progressed since it’s inception on the ps1 and most of them being legendary tier. My personal favorites are 3,2, and zero.
I jumped into Ace Combat really late, emulating Zero first and then jumping into 7. This series already holds such a special place in my heart and this vid is just amazing. Thank you so much for this!
My first Ace Combat was Assault Horizon and i loved it, that was my childhood. Last year i bought Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown and i fell in tears playing it with all the different scenes... I love AC so much that every time i see or hear Ace combat in any videos i get goose bumps. Long Live Ace Combat! May everyone land safely after each sortie.
I wonder, would licensing still be a roadblock if they remake the previous games' stories as DLC for 7 instead of remaking them as new standalone games?
I started off playing 6 so I'm a little disappointed not seeing it in there. I do understand why people dislike 6, its story is a little different from the rest, and some of its cringey characters and dialogue. See the reason why I like 6 so much is because of it not focusing around Belka, Usea, Erusea, and ect. because 6 is telling its story of the impact of Ulysses on their nation of Emmeria and Estavokia. I think people should give it a little leeway. ACH on the other hand I didn't care for all that much the one thing I liked about it was the aircraft customization.
I only really started playing Ace Combat games like 10 years ago, so I didn't necessarily grow up with them, but I feel like I did lol. In 2020 I played every AC game (excluding stuff like Xi or Advance) and it was really neat to see the evolution of the series, but more importantly to track how it's managed to just stay fun to play for 25 years. We talk a lot about the stories, music, characters, even politics of the series (with good reason), but at the end of the day they've almost always remained fun. Blasting through an underground tunnel at full speed, pulling a ridiculous maneuever to take out like 4 planes at once, or hitting the deck to see if you can fly under a bridge in the middle of a mission, just because you can. That stuff all holds up, regardless of generation. Ace Combat has managed to stay true to its Heart and to its Game philosophy all this time. The answer in itself will be there.
Ace Combat Infinity was what got me into Ace Combat in the first place, it was a free game on ps3 they released as a test for a few years, when they shut it down i was so sad but heard they released number 7 and instantly bought it, i still miss the character Omega from infinity but the new one has an amazing story!
I wish it was financially worth Aces doing a complete remake of 4 and 5. The stories and music in those two were amazing. I'm sure the only way to do it would be having a different studio do it as their first "large" title game. All they do is the graphical work with the Unreal engine, just carry all the script/voices for 4 and 5, and flight dynamics/controls from AC7. I know there's more too it but something like this would be a nice buffer till Aces can get AC8. But it's just a dream of mine. I will continue to play the originals over and over.
Shattered Skies was my first, and nothing ever brought more of a swell of pride and feeling of accomplishment like hearing AWACS SkyEye: Target destroyed! There he is! We've got Mobius 1 on radar! Friend G: Bravo 1 here. That plane that flew in, is it all right? AWACS SkyEye: Yes, he's fine. I've got visual on him right now. Friend G: So did we win the war? AWACS SkyEye: I don't know. History determines the winner. But there's one thing I can say for certain. Heroes really do exist. We've just seen one, and now he's coming home.

Ace Combat 1 & 2: Classic arcade-style AC. Ace Combat 3: The AC with Strangereal's Ulysses impact at end of game. Ace Combat 4 Shattered Skies: My first Ace playing as Mobius 1 with an awesome story. Ace Combat 5 Unsung War: My second Ace playing as Wardog squadron aka "The Aces of Radgriz." With another awesome story with some backstory explained in Ace Zero. Ace Combat Zero The Belkan War: My third Ace playing as Galm 1 aka "Demon Lord of the Round Table." With another awesome story explaining the origins of the true enemy in Ace 5. Ace Combat Assault Horizon: An Ace taking place in a fictional real world okay for my liking. Ace Combat 6 Fires of Liberation: My fourth Ace playing as Garuda 1 aka "Talisman." With alright story, but awesome climax/realistic aircraft detail. Ace Combat 7 Unknown Skies: The most recent of Ace series playing as Trigger aka "Three Strikes." With okay story others have done better with, but some epic tracks again like this song.
The Ulysses impact took place in 1999. Ace Combat 3 is set in the 2040s, though "real time" may be a few years sooner than that; explaining any further would be spoilers. If you've never played the Japanese version of AC3 with its branching in-depth storylines, I highly recommend looking into playing the fan translation. The English release of the game was a joke.
Slight adjustment: AC3 (JP): Conflict between two megacorporate entities, played as an ace of UPEO peacekeeper force with branching paths that allow the players to choose their faction.

"Hey aren't there two games between Zero and Se-" *gets gagged*
Cant get enough of your editing skills!
25 years of shooting down bears
Been playing since 3. This was a needed nostalgia trip!
Ace Combat 5 is still one of the best PS2 games, and one of the best AC games. I picked up AC7 a few months ago, and it really reminds me of 5. It looks like what I imagined 5 to be, all those years ago.
me too!
It’s amazing how much this series has progressed since it’s inception on the ps1 and most of them being legendary tier.
My personal favorites are 3,2, and zero.
This is really incredible... Good job Nassault! Looking forward to your next video. Good luck!
all of my childhood in one clip ... this video meant alot for me ... thank you
I jumped into Ace Combat really late, emulating Zero first and then jumping into 7.
Was expecting AC6 qnd ACX to get featured since their storyline is set in strangereal aswell.
The last beeb at the end always get me. Lol.
Ace Combat 04 and Ace Combat Zero >>> All other Ace Combat games
6 and X are pretty amazing too
Thanks for making this video, this is my favorite game ever.
Happy 25th aniversary Ace Combat!
Ace combat 6 X X² Xi 3D AH
「OK.」
The gameplay has improved significantly over the years but nothing has beaten the story of AC5 for me.
The best 25th anniversary video out there. I can’t wait to see what PA is gonna pull this year! Great stuff Nassault, perfectly edited.
activace you should play some realistic simulation flight combat games such as Energy Airforce or the 2 Lethal Skies games for example.
This guy looked at all the others and said, “we don’t talk about those” and I fully agree.
*Hey kid! I hear you're a helluva squad captain now*
Ace Combat was on Nintendo consoles twice
Ace Combat Advance (GBA)
Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy (Nintendo 3DS)
Fantastic video as always! X was my childhood, glad to see ace combat stuck around with 7!
Shattered Skies was my first, and nothing ever brought more of a swell of pride and feeling of accomplishment like hearing
AWACS SkyEye: Target destroyed!
Electrosphere was my first.
The protagonists of almost every Ace combat game have some pretty cool nicknames
Unsung War remains the best Ace Combat game imho. Maybe with the exception of 7 as I've yet to have the pleasure.
It's... it's beautiful. Thank you Nassault, thank you.
If there is anyway that we could support your future projects, please tell us.
thanks Gardner
problem is, my method of video editing and making takes time and I'm afriad to share my patreon, as I don't post as frequently as the bigwig RUclipsrs, but alas I finally made a Patreon. if youd like to buy me a beer www.patreon.com/nassault

YOOOOOOOOOOO NASSAULT UPLOAD LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Man, this brought back some memories. I remember struggling with the recon camera mission in ACES5 and giving my memory card to my buddy in like 4th grade so he could beat it for me haha. So many fun times
Slight adjustment:
AC3 (JP): Conflict between two megacorporate entities, played as an ace of UPEO peacekeeper force with branching paths that allow the players to choose their faction.
I'm telling you, AC3 has the deepest and most well told story of the franchise so far. I just want for AC8 to surpass AC3.
And of course there just has to be an unnecessary insert of Daredevil...
How dare I put one of the best Ace Combat 7 tracks into a video about Ace Combat!!
**Someone saying daredevil is overrated**:
God damn man, you never fail to impress no matter what type of video you put out.
What do you think PA has in store for us this year?
Thank you Blazededge! I'm glad, as I know this isn't "quite" the expected cinematic, but nonetheless I just had to make it! I'm not sure, but I've a good feeling about it..
if they announce a proper western release for AC3 i would bust a fat ass nut
Now I want to play AC again. 😢❤
Such an awesome video, thank you.😁👍
Ace Combat is one of my favorite game series, or rather, it's number 1 for me
Ace Combat will never be forgotten, one of my inspirations to become an Air Force pilot
And finally, I'm a Brazilian fan
Hard to believe that Ace Combat started out as a game whose planes were just a bunch of cubes to the high definition warplanes we are familiar with now
I guess he got tired of people asking about ac6.
Nice video!
Also I can't wait for the AC cinematic stuff.
There are plenty of underrated missions like The Final Overture and White Bird I (the latter reminds me of an old anime about world war II themed aircraft lol).
Thanks! I have DCS stuff on the chopping block, but of course it takes time. Thanks as always, Lukas. Cheers!
@@Nassault just take your time so when they finally come out they will be even surprising!
Cheers!
@@Nassault Im a pretty good DCS pilot if you ever need someone to help make a video. And im not a child so I understand how to work and follow directions without being a burden
thats awesome how far ots come from the piza stain in chucky cheese to being the epic ace odessy it is today truly amazing how something so amazing can come from something so humble as n arcarder
Happy Birthday, Ace Combat.
Oh god I can't have my eyes start leaking like this at work. Beautiful video.
7 is my favourite, all Ace combats (except a certain one that won't be named for good reason) are brilliant, but 7 I just love
Hmm I think I know which one you're not going to mention 🙄
@@Justapilot_9700 To be honest I kinda enjoyed Assault Horizon, the dogfighting system and the scripting were kinda dumb, but hey they were experimenting and I don't really feel it deserves the sheer disdain it gets
They need to remake electrosphere. And include all the content they cut from the English releases. I grew up with this series and it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come from the ps1 days.
