Not at impressed with the live video.
The "Live" video is never going to be able to seamlessly show the event, nor is it meant to. It's just for folks who want to feel like they are getting to experience a little bit of the event as it happens. Obviously they will have the normal edited versions that show the events once the weekend is over.
Rory and his new 8-71 fed BBC looks like he had a blast!

Rory said that he wasn't happy with his tire choice. He wished that he brought the BFG's instead for the sand.

Rory's Old Blue was sounding like a V7 with a blower on it!
Thank you for the short video! The first truck shown was pulling the Suburban with it's breaks on, where as the Suburban wheels seemed to be turning freely for the rest of the tow vehicles.
That background view is just awesome.

The first pull... the suburban locked all 4 wheels... the other pulls they rolled.... kinda unfair..

Matt was intentionally trying to give each truck a challenge, without making it too much of a challenge. This is not a real competition, it's an exhibition.
Unfair? This is entertainment, not a competition. Organized sports like football, drag racing etc is boring.
You realize Matt got out and pushed the suburban during one run right? This is for fun. Don’t read so much into it.
Sounds like Ole' Blue's motor was hurt. Sounded good on the testing video. There has to be a better way to run the towing show. Use a sled and do some grooming maybe. Run in classes. Maybe too much organization will kill the feel of the event.

I'm betting a lot. The wind was blowing sand around like crazy, plus with all the vacuum from the blower. There's got to be some sand in it.

That engine will be coming out presently anyway. It may not have been the original plan, but stuff happened and the show must go on.

Come on guys. Either lock the brakes up on all the pulls or none of them. I think flipping vehicles over like last year was more fun. Everyone has seen pulled like this.

Why did he lock up the front brakes on the Suburban for the first truck but not for any of the other trucks?
I’m guessing because that was capable of pulling it with the brakes locked up and it was more impressive to the spectators to see that.
@@lethargicmotorsport2025 I guess, but all the other rigs including that eight-wheeled Jeep pulled it so much further, which I would imagine would be so much more impressive.

Ole blues new tires looked awesome, The 6x6 was built by Mx2.
Those tires may have been about entertainment value. Moab sand is a better platform than Hurricane's flour sand. His usual tires would have had better flotation. May well be that he knew that going back to Sand Hollow.

If Rory had pullled from bumper instead of boom he would have done way better

Actually Rory was trying to get the front wheels to lift out of the sand by using the boom. It's physics and geometry.🚗
@@primrosereceptionist611 figured that may have been the intent.... reality though was, it appeared (judging by how much sand NOT thrown) it lightened his front end so that front wheels of truck did not get as good a traction, thus could not help as much.

To make it really fair, the ALL the yellow vehicles being towed should ALWAYS have had their brakes LOCKED. Some were rolling. Not a fair contest IMHO.
haha it is just a little exhibition, this wasnt anything they used to get points or to win. That first rig was clearly going to pull the cars to the next state so they used the brakes to show how well it does.

That blue 6wheel jeep thing is ugly AF. I'm sure it took a lot of fab work but its still ugly.

Matt is in the towed car applying the brakes as needed if it's too easy for the big wreckers. Or getting out and pushing. All just adding to the entertainment.
