Bruce is a licensed Pilot (he flies the band's 747 plane on tour), a champion Fencer (sword fighter), Cancer survivor, PHD in Music, Professor of History, and a Screenwriter. Oh, and also sings for Iron Maiden.
Bruce is in the top 5 frontmen of all time, with Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant. That list you were reading off was written by someone who is clearly deaf, lol 😂🤣
Bruce is a legend. He is not only the singer for Iron, he is an Olympic fencer, an ex Comercial pilot, he is the one that pilots the band’s 747, he once jumped on his hydroplane and went to save people from a flood. He is an entrepreneur and bier connoisseur and helped to develop “The Trooper “ which is the bands own bier. There is more, research on him and you will see, he is one rare human being.
Everything you said is said elsewhere in these comments, and in every comment section on every you tube posting done by a non traditional metal listener. Literally everything. You lapped it up and spewed forth your standard Iron Maiden knowledge as if this dude really cares…
If it makes you feel more at ease, this song is not intended to be Satanic. Bassist and main man Steve Harris had a nightmare after having watched the horror movie "Omen II", and waking up from that, he was immediately inspired to write the song. If you have ever seen that movie, I'm sure you'll get the connection 🙂
The opening speech is from the Bible, Revelations 13:18. They wanted the famous horror movie actor, Vincent Price to speak it, but he was too expensive for them, so it was spoken by the late Barry Clayton. This song was my introduction to Iron Maiden when I was a teenager... a long time ago. UP THE IRONS!!&! 🤘😎🎸🎶
@Dillon Sronce yup. I went to a catholic high-school and they did a whole presentation about heavy metal being satanist..... all it did was to make sure I bought each and every album..... the number of the beast blew me out of the water.
Funny that Price had too high a price, but not long after NOB ended up on Micheal Jackson's Thriller, in I say the greatest (odd ballish, Vincent rapping) add on guest appearance on a song possibly ever, it was just too perfect and MJ let him have the final word(s) in the song. I give a mental 'chef's kiss' everytime that song ends with Price's diabolical maniacal laugh.
Great reaction, Bruce Dickinson is in my opinion in the top 5 greatest front person and singers of ALL time. His voice, endurance, energy and charisma are unmatched. Keep watching more live Iron Maiden songs and you will see for yourself. Up the Irons!!
You'll probably get this story a lot on here. Bruce had just joined the band. The manager (I think it was Rod Smallwood) was helping lay down the vocals for this song. He kept cutting Bruce off in the first verse. Changing tone, inflection, volume, whatever he could. He kept telling him the importance of this verse. "This is the FIRST time Iron maiden fans are going to hear you. It has to be perfect"! They yelled, fought, furniture was thrown about. Just chaos trying to get it perfect. When it was finally done, Rod asked him, "Do you think you could give me scream for the end of the first verse"? The rest is metal legend! That story is directly from Bruce's book, "What Does This Button Do". He credits Rod with the vision to get him worked up, and then create that iconic scream/howl. The funny part as it turned out, was this song ended up being track 1 on side 2. So it WASN'T the first song people heard from Bruce!
It was their producer Martin Birch (R.I.P) who told Bruce to do it over and over again. Not Rod Smallwood. And the first song they ever heard with Bruce was "Run to the Hills" as that was the first single they released BEFORE the album came out.
A lot of people thought Iron Maiden was a Satanic band. And there is a story as to why this song was written by Steve Harris. But in reality with Iron Maiden in just about everything they do there is a world history lesson within their songs.
Lmao! I love that reaction, when you first heard Bruce's insane scream! I first thought your video had broken down, as you just stared at the camera without moving a muscle! 🤣🤣🤣
What made me really appreciate Iron Maiden was when I started listening to them like somebody would an orchestra piece. It's a real journey! Mother Russia, Rime of the Ancient Mariner...
Check out Dickenson's autobiography 'What Does This Button Do?' for the story of what their sound engineer had to put him through to get that METAL SCREAM. 🤟
Who ever done the lightning for Maiden deserves credit. Watch - Rime of the Ancient Mariner (long beach 85), and when the song slows, the y lower the lights and have fans to keep the smoke at a low level - Epic. Not even sure if it’s the same people but man, ok enough about the lights.
Great video, I really liked the classic movie monster clips. This sounded like the studio version of the song, but it was filmed on stage, with all the great stage puppets and lights. That long scream was a classic.
I think you sir are ready for Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner live flight 666 version please. Have the lyrics ready. And Iron Maiden is playing with Guns n roses. AC/DC, Ozzy ,Metallica and Tool later this year in California.
You have to look up best metal singer from a metal source, not a mainstream pop source. Then, Bruce will be in the Top 3, along with the late, great Ronnie James Dio and Rob Halford. The term “frontman” is more about being an entertainer. While I still think Dickinson should be ranked higher as a frontman, he’s universally considered one of the Top 3 metal singers. Love the channel, btw. 🤘🏼
One of the frontman names you mentioned was Roger Daltry. You didn't know him. He is the singer for The Who. Constantly throwing and catching his microphone, very powerful vocals. Daltry's wife encouraged his look, the flowing natural blond hair and opened shirt, and then Robert Plant copied that look. Daltry was trying to compete on stage with Pete Townshend and Keith Moon, who were also "frontman". Check out LIVE Who!
Lol Kurt Cobain shouldn't be on a top 500 list of great singers. Those lists are always mainstream and very subjective. You'd probably find Bruce is you searched for a top metal singers list.
Dude, when ya looked at the screen right after the yell. He's not called The Siren for nothing. If you get a chance, check out VH1's Classic Albums about the album Number of the Beast. It goes into why he did that scream the way he did.
Yeah I saw them live back in the day unbelievable band his vocal arrangement how long he can hold a note is unbelievable check out hollow be thy name if you haven't already The Official video
Your next Iron Maiden reaction video needs to be the song “Revelations” and about the T shirt thing, it’s a rabbit hole you may not want to go down. Looking past the mall shirts they print a limited edition limited quantity shirt for every city from every tour, also their drummer owns “Rock n Roll Ribs” in Coral Springs, Florida like a museum of stage props and personal items from the band and a Pilgrimage for fans world wide to eat dinner there while enjoying a Trooper Beer before seeing them in south Florida’s premier venue. And yes I would go to any concert with you our mutual love for music binds us all in the mob! UP THE IRONS🤘
Iron Maiden incorporates a lot of history and fantasy. The fantasy is not to be considered serious. Dance of Death is another in this vein. This was protested as satanic back in the day, however it is not at all.
When it comes to metal, the top 3 are widely accepted to be Dio, Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson - the lists you are looking at tend to put mainstream above truth lol - hence the madness of Kurt Cobian being above Robert Plant.
I saw Maiden in the 80s, 90s, and last year they were the same each time, couldnt even tell they were older. Unfortunately I have seen a lot of bands lately that you can definitely tell that they are no in their prime anymore but not Maiden.
Story goes Bruce did that scream for a few takes in the studio and producer Martin Birch kept telling him it wasn't good enough, do it again, then Bruce just went off and Martin was like, yeah, that's the one
One thing important whit Iron Maiden is that there 6 first album are just completly good no bad song . You got to listen there album song complet in roll its important to to have complet expérience thx great réactions

Hello friend, I'm your fan . I love your reactions, you act with your heart and soul! I don't know if it's too late for that, but, could you react to "Dance of Death" live (with 3 guitars!!) by Iron Maiden. Another matter: Bruce is not held in high esteem for his vocals. In 2006, Bruce Dickinson was included in the list of the 100 Best Vocalists of Heavy Metal of All Time, made by the North American magazine Hit Parader, being in the 7th position. He was also included in the list of the 10 Best Vocalists of Heavy Metal, made by the website The Top Tens, being in the 1st position. A big hug! (Brazil).
'The number of the beast' was written by bassist Steve Harris about a typical nightmare scenario... the title came from a quote from the Bible. However, Iron Maiden and their 1982 album 'The number of the beast' made them a target of religious right wing groups in America who accused them of being 'satanists' and picketed their concerts on tour... Bruce Dickinson said that they regarded them as "silliness"... The music video actually featured Nicko McBrain as one of the costumed "devils" ... McBrain replaced Clive Burr (drums) on the next album 'Piece of mind' until today. I wouldn't take stock w/ critics' list of "best vocalists"... they tend to leave out icons of the heavy metal genre, including Rob Halford of Judas Priest ... Geoff Tate of Queensryche... and Joe Belladonna of Anthrax... On the "best guitarists" lists, they left out (late) Ozzy guitarist Randy Rhoads, who was a phenomenal player and added John Mayer (Huh??? He's an effin JOKE!) When Iron Maiden was touring on the 2nd album 'Killers' in 1981, it was evident that singer Paul Di'Anno was not gonna cut it w/ his drinking and drug intake... so the band parted ways w/ Di'Anno. They needed a singer and auditioned potential replacements... Bruce Dickinson was fronting the band Samson at the time, and had seen Iron Maiden live... and he wanted to be a part of that band. And when he was approached to join Iron Maiden in 1981, he jumped at the chance. He had recorded 2 albums w/ Samson, but he was in for a challenge. Because of contracts signed by Maiden, Dickinson was not credited w/ any songs on 'The number of the beast'... Steve Harris admitted that the band had used up all his songs that he had written... so, they had to write new songs from scratch. Guitarist Adrian Smith proved invaluable as a composer on that record, since he had joined in late 1980. The big hurdle came when Bruce Dickinson came in to record vocals, and the band's producer Martin Birch had worked w/ huge bands like Deep Purple and Rainbow... so he demanded a lot from Dickinson vocally... Birch pushed Dickinson to stretch his vocal ability to breaking point in the studio... Dickinson recalled tracking 'The number of the beast' in the studio, and Birch kept making him sing the opening lines over and over again to the point where Bruce Dickinson became furious and started throwing chairs and complaining of headaches. The scream in the track was literally one of frustration that he tracked after hours of vocal takes. In the end, it was worth it - 'The number of the beast' debuted at #1 in the UK charts and sold platinum in the US, making Iron Maiden one of the top 80's heavy metal bands... it had some of their most popular songs - 'Hallowed be thy name'... 'The prisoner'... 'Children of the damned'... '22 Acacia Avenue'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥 Most bands don't survive a change of lead singers... especially one who was as popular as Paul Di'Anno, but Iron Maiden pulled it off in 1982 w/ 'The number of the beast'... and Bruce Dickinson was the main reason it became such a huge success.

Those lists are commercial, popularity contest garbage. You are discerning properly. You are becoming a rock ninja. Make up your own mind. They're still around for many good reasons.
How are you listening to these vids? Laptop speaker? No headphones, earbuds??? You're missing half the music, my friend- especially early seventies when stereo was everything!
Now that's what I'm talkin about thank you.If you want to go down the rabbit hole listen to the song Prodigal Son. It's sung by Iron maiden's first singer or better yet if you're interested listen to the entire second side of the Killers album.. it's at good.😅
Bruce is a licensed Pilot (he flies the band's 747 plane on tour), a champion Fencer (sword fighter), Cancer survivor, PHD in Music, Professor of History, and a Screenwriter. Oh, and also sings for Iron Maiden.
Hell of a resume!
He's also an entrepreuner, motivational speaker, actor and author.
Yeah he's lived a bucket list and some he's a genius
Due to his age he is not a licensed pilot anymore but that is not erasing the fact that he used to be!
Oh yeah. And he's also a beer brewer. 🍺
"Rime of the ancient Mariner" from "Flight 666 " is the best live performance ever.

I subbed for this reason, you are ahead of many reactors in reacting.
I hope your channel blows up....not in the pew pew way...the view view way. 💯
NIN were definitely influenced by Maiden, as were so many other bands. Ghost, for insurance.
Robert Plant I wouldn't call a front the whole band was the front man, look up greatest rock singer
Easily one of their best songs ever
Front man is different to best vocalist
Those lists are commercial, popularity contest garbage. You are discerning properly. You are becoming a rock ninja. Make up your own mind. They're still around for many good reasons.
I stopped wearing my iron maiden t shirts because everyone is wearing them now
How are you listening to these vids? Laptop speaker? No headphones, earbuds??? You're missing half the music, my friend- especially early seventies when stereo was everything!
Great reaction, but you have SO MUCH to learn, get back to us in 20 years, lol.
Now that's what I'm talkin about thank you.If you want to go down the rabbit hole listen to the song Prodigal Son. It's sung by Iron maiden's first singer or better yet if you're interested listen to the entire second side of the Killers album.. it's at good.😅
That list wouldn't make the top 10
This should outdo the others
NIN has nearly no relation to Maiden.
Try best rock singers not front men . Font men is entertainers not singers.
has he done queensryche yet ?
