I was lucky enough to be a teenager in London when Iron Maiden started out!!! I used to drink with the guys in our local "rock" pub The Ruskin Arms and I played football (soccer) with Steve Harris for a local amateur team. They are a great bunch of guys and a great band....best thing about them is they are so humble and ordinary guys......AND they've always rocked.🤟🎸🎸...up the Irons⚒️⚒️
This song was written about a dream that Steve Harris, the bassist, had. It has nothing to do with devil worship. Needless to say it got a bad wrap from those who didn’t take the time to listen to it.
The legendary Vincent Price was asked to do that narrated intro, but he was too expensive, so Barry Clayton got to do it instead. At this point, I'm sure nobody can even imagine anybody else readingg those lines.
My parents used to put speakers outside at Halloween and blast this album just to scare the crap out of the trick or treaters. It kind of worked, some kids would walk past our house fast, others would bang their heads and get into it.
IRON MAIDEN:LIVE AFTER DEATH 1985-LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA: I saw them in Long Beach California where I lived at the time I’m in Santa Monica now but they played 4 nights from Thursday to Sunday and I was there all four nights in 1985. They filmed 🎥 the shows for what became the Live After Death cd/dvd! My favorite Bruce Dickinson moment: SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH ARENA!!! UP THE IRONS!!!😎😎😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When this came out , parents were freaked out and thought it was the devil’s music….lol ,ironically the beginning is a quote from Revelations in the Bible , voiced by Vincent Price
The number of the beasts is based on a nightmare Steve Harris had after watching the movie called the Omen. Even looking carefully at the album cover, it looks like a little Eddie being controlled like a puppet, by the devil, but then you see the devil is being controlled like a puppet, by Eddie himself, meaning no one controls you, but you, yourself. In the number of beast video, there is a guy in a devil costume, the guy in the costume is Iron Maidens current drummer, he is also a devout Christian ✝️. Up the irons.
It's not advocating devil worship, it's sung from the point of view of someone who witnesses a satanic ritual. Like the other commenter said, it's based on a dream bassist Steve Harris had.
Your reaction was about the same as mine when this album came out March 1982. I went to my first concert July 1982, Iron Maiden opened a rock fest with Ted Nugent, Loverboy and Foreigner. I was 14, been an Iron Maiden fan ever since..............
time for live maiden. the clansman chile 2001 bruce and 1 guitarist are dancing, while the guitar player is still playing and the rest are jumping up and down and a couple of thousand chileans are singing freedom though they sing during instrumentals too.
Drummer Nicko Mcbrain is a born again Christian. Maiden has lots of songs about God. Delve deeper into the lyrics. This song is not about Satin worship as a positive. It's about the evils of Satan worship.
The intro is of course a bible verse. The lyrics were inspired by the movie The Omen pt.ll and the Robert Burns poem Tam O Shanter. The band caught a lot of shit when this came out.
Idk if you read the comments I'm really enjoying your reactions especially the songs I grew up listening to, I wish you would do WASP love machine or inside the electric circus
Never fails to amuse me how Americans take lyrics so literally when in 99.9% of cases the lyrics are spoken by a character that the song is about, not the singer themselves.
You have to, YOU HAVE TO REACT TO THE LIVE PERFORMANCE OF DANCE OF DEATH FROM THEIR CONCERT IN SANTIAGO CHILE IN 2011, YOU WILL TURN UP WITH THAT🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It chronicles a Satanic ritual sacrifice accidentally witnessed by an unsuspecting person. And it is so badass! Not the sacrifice, Satan stuff, just the music lol!
This song's inspiration was from bassist Steve Harris nightmare he had after watching the movie The Omen 2.
Well……I just learned something today. 👍

Please thank your parents for me. 😊

When this came out , parents were freaked out and thought it was the devil’s music….lol ,ironically the beginning is a quote from Revelations in the Bible , voiced by Vincent Price
Actually, they couldn't afford Vincent Price, so they hired an English actor who sounded like him.
no. it is not Vincent
This is my favourite song by Iron Maiden

Their music and this song, is as good today as it was on the day of release in the early 80's.
This band opened my ears and now I consider my myself a guitar master 🙌
Run To The Hills is my favorite Maiden song off this album, real banger!
I was so lucky to see them when this came out! Rock on!
You should react to judas priest, another legendary band lml.
Man I hope you do the follow up Piece of Mind. 🔥

The intro spoken word is from the Bible - Revelations 12:12
This song/album caused great problems in the catholic households

you might like the official video, has cuts from cheapo old horror pics such as i was a teenage werewolf and the devil's bride
Check out a version of this song by Zwan. It's a Smashing Pumpkins side project.
Drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, cool band
EXCELLENT REACTIONS FRIEND 😄
This one cranked for sure 🎶
Vincent Price. Look him up. One of the creepiest people in history. He did the poem at the beginning of the song. FIRE!!!!!
2 guitar solos. As with the majority of Maiden’s songs. That’s one reason why they’re the best.
Drummer Nicko Mcbrain is a born again Christian. Maiden has lots of songs about God. Delve deeper into the lyrics. This song is not about Satin worship as a positive. It's about the evils of Satan worship.
You guys are in for a treat ...the best o
In the WORLD

The first verse is not from the Bible. The second verse is.
The intro 'woe to you oh earth and sea,' is definitely a passage from Revelation.
Are you a dunce? The spoken intro....
I used to went to school with Bruce in the isle of dog's.
Idk if you read the comments I'm really enjoying your reactions especially the songs I grew up listening to, I wish you would do WASP love machine or inside the electric circus
Powerslave is one of the best Albums ever record. Do that album

You have obviously read the latest research that says metal banish's depression!
Still one of the best albums of all time.
React to the live version hammersmith 1982 . It's a unique experience
You have to, YOU HAVE TO REACT TO THE LIVE PERFORMANCE OF DANCE OF DEATH FROM THEIR CONCERT IN SANTIAGO CHILE IN 2011, YOU WILL TURN UP WITH THAT🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Please listen to Iron Maiden fear of the DARK live Rio !!!!🤟 Like your reactions !!!!
In case Silas doesn't know who Vincent Price is, he also was the voice at the end of the song "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.
🤘🤘
❤🤘🏻
It chronicles a Satanic ritual sacrifice accidentally witnessed by an unsuspecting person. And it is so badass! Not the sacrifice, Satan stuff, just the music lol!
Dude, your reactions are great! But…somebody needs to coach you how to properly bang your head to the beat!
Just a heads up iron maiden is almost always better live, I would recommend you watch their live performances they’re brilliant
Voice at the beginning is the legendary Vincent Price !
Nope. It is an English actor who sounded like him. His name was Barry Clayton.
@@timprice5747 My mistake ... It was English actor Barry Clayton doing his best Vincent Price impersonation !
Faraón Love Shady
Listen to live performances
😎📀🎶🇧🇷💯
A little awkward reaction. But the reactions the same we had 40 years ago.
NEVER listen to Remastered versions on 1st listen.
Gangland is a bust unfortunately.
I always like gangland. Not my favorite, but it was good.
Nah, not sure why some don't like Gangland, has a superb bridge section, always been a fave of mine
Cringe
