They have great subject matter, history, songs based on poems, old movies. Bruce is a great story teller and the band are so talented you don't even need a vocalist. The band is British and the members are good people with a sense of humour and good habits and mostly down-to-earth hobbies outside of their multi-millionaire rocker lifestyle. They're very clear on the fact that to put on a great performance everytime for decades, you can't go on stage drunk or strung out on drugs. There are a lot of reasons why they are one of the few bands standing since the 80s. Their performances were even more energetic when they were 40 years younger. You should check out a few more of their songs before passing any final judgement. For some reason, people in South America are really appreciative of talented musicians and rock/ metal. AC/DC also get a solid run all over South America too. They sell out just about everywhere though - Canada, Sweden, Australia etc.

Yes he 100% has pipes lol, Bruce Dickinson is one of the best vocalists and front men in metal period. Dickinson is much more operatic and rangey than Hetfield (who you were discussing as Metallica’s lead singer). Also, Dickinson uses the upper part of the stage sometimes Because he tends to run around ALOT. You’re in for a good ride with more maiden, this is more of a fun live song than one of there best. Very surprised if you have never heard an Iron Maiden song before, maybe not choosing to listen to it but in passing or by chance. They are one of the most famous metal bands in the world. They have a very recognisable sound from Steve Harris's galloping bass, which through that and/or Bruce Dickinsons vocals I can tell a song is by these guys as some of their newer stuff I haven't heard. I think one of the most impressive things about Bruce is that he is a fully qualified pilot and on numerous occasions has literally flown the band around the world on their tours in a plane they call Ed Force 1, he also beat throat cancer about 10 years ago and is still belting out the songs. Absolute Legends, so glad I have seen them live, and hope to again.
Maiden have some songs that are lyric driven, some music and some a mix. This particular song isn’t really deep on the lyrical side. They do a lot of story telling too utilizing music and lyrics to tell them. So depends on what you’re looking for, but whatever it is there’ll be something Maiden has done you’ll fall in love with. Check out Hallowed be thy Name live - I prefer the Flight 666 live version best, although Bruce Dickinson's vocals are probably better on the 1982 Hammersmith version. Rime of the Ancient Mariner is also a great song. Think you would appreciate both of those lyrically more. I also love The Red and the Black live version, due to the guitar solos (its a 13 minute song!), but Bruce's voice isn't great on that track.
If you want a long song, try Nightwish's The Greatest Show On Earth live at Wembley, it's about 21 minutes (and still shorter than the album track, which clocks in at 24 minutes!) and tells the story of the formation of earth and life on it.
This song is played in the middle of their live sets. Dozens of live Maiden songs you can check out that are equal to and even better than this one. IMO, the best live act ever and still going very strong in their mid-60s. Rime of the Ancient Mariner from the Flight 666 DVD is a far better song than this one and really captures the essence of a Maiden live performance.
Bruce is only behind the band because he's the most active frontman ever. Running and performing the way he does in Front of the band just wouldn't make sense. Very accomplished musicians, bass player writes the music but if Bruce is singing the focus goes on him.
