@@glenchapman3899 Of course it's still relevant. Debatebly even more relevant today. The rate at which we are thrown disinformation and propaganda because of social media, has made it to where it is extremely easy to find your own little echo chamber, and brainwash yourself into a false reality. Which allows your to deamen or look down on those who don't 100% align with you. Any fringe idea has a home on the internet. Especially when we have people who profit off of others fears, hatred and ignorance. History is always doomed to repeast itself, just dressed a bit differently each generation.
Though the internet has allowed some amazing things, like watching these two people react to music I grew up on, its also allows lies to propagate with almost impunity. It's even more difficult when the average person is flooded with information on a daily basis. Much more than even 20 years ago. And it seems the more information we have the less we utilize critical thinking skills. When wanting to, or feeling like you're right becomes more important than actually being right.
I have realized a lot of people don't want or seek the truth. The simply seek whatever confirms their biases. It becomes frustrating, because it eliminates any chance of two opposing sides to have rational, based in reality conversations. Though it can make me feel nialisitic at times, its people like these two reacting that let me know there is still good in the world. Compassion and the pursuit of truth still exist. Because currently in my country of the USA, we are becoming more and more divided, to the benefit of people who don't care about us. Divided we fall, as we should. Unless we have some sort of meaningful change in how we communicate with one another. Ignorance is only bliss for the ignorant.

While I like your take on the song you missed that last verse when Ozzie, the singer talks about the judgement of God in the lyrics as " Satin's laughing spreads his wings" because Satin knows that God judges world leaders much harsher than regular people so in the end the song shows justice in the spiritual world. Written in 1970 this is one of if not the best anti war sings ever written.

I am a Veteran and while I was prepared to go to war ... I never wanted to. I know you two react to Ren ... in his tribute "Eden" he had three lines that struck me
How many soldiers have been forced to fight in meaningless wars?
How many humans have killed for ideals they don't believe in or understand?
How many people have died to the greed of another man?

I would agree in regards to the live performances, but for those hearing this song for the first time, I think this is the best place to start. As it enhances the song as it brings the lyrics front and center, when you have kick-ass live performances, sometimes that may get lost in the musicianship(I normally can't focus on anything past Bill Ward killing those drums). LOL

I love that you were touched by the lyrical & musical content of the song. So many younger people doing reactions seem confused by the longer & more complicated musical compositions of Rock & Metal, but the music, like a symphonic piece, tells the story every bit as much as the words (as in an opera, oratorio or Broadway musical). This is my favorite band & I saw them many times and Ozzy solo many times & they always played this song. They have many "classic" tunes, but this one still brings tears to my eyes & is the most fulfilling from their catalogue for me to play as a musician. You asked if this is "Metal": Black Sabbath are the Godfathers of Metal. May God bless you with peace & safety & lots more Metal!

Thank you for your beautiful reaction!
7th october was the Black Sabbath, and this song made a huge difference in the world.
Not stopping wars but telling people to make a difference between the leaders of a country and the people inside, some are accountable, most are not.
As an example i have a friend playing in a metal band, he had to play in Israel before the war and had a lot of comments on it.
But he and me both agreed that even how much you dislike some leaders, one should always support the people that love the music as they most likely disagree with the government.
Those people actually needs the music more that those in a free country.
I hope this song gave you the feeling of being supported by music, to get somewhat comfort from it, not all humans are evil! Even on the enemy side...
Whatever comes in the near future, justice will come in the end! Even if it looks broken at the moment.
    ./hug

So glad you are safe. Sabbath is great, some hold them right up there with zeppelin...take a deep dive, its a great escape.

This is my favorite Sabbath song and so easy to play on guitar. Which most their songs have really catchy guitar riffs that are fairly easy to play because Tony Iommi, the lead guitarist lost several fingertips on his fretboard hand right before the band got started and he had to invent his own prosthetic fingertips.

I am glad to see you are both well and safe. I am not sure whether you will like this but I would recommend a song by Sepultura called Territory. The music may be too heavy for you but I think you will find the video and lyrics interesting. Take care.

    8:10
    The woman represents ''JUSTICE''
The white cloth in her eyes represents ''PEACE''
The white cloth stained with blood conveys the message that justice and peace must be one and the same, and only when that happens will we truly have freedom and peace. But this is not achieved without sacrifices.

Absolute brilliant song as relevant today as it was then. There's a live version from Paris 1970 you must see, it's a little quicker and a chance to see Bill Ward's amazing drumming.👍

I was born in Augsburg Germany 1967 {my parents & grandparents survived Hitler} & my mother & I immigrated to America in 1973 & what I have learned is that the US has been involved in a war in every decade since WWII 1940s, Korean war 1950s, Vietnam war 1960s & 70s, Iran/Iraq war 1980s, Gulf war & Bosnian war 1990s, Iraq war & Afghanistan war 2000s & the ongoing middle east conflict since "2010"! Props to Bill Ward for bangin' those skins {drums} so incredibly awesome ✌💖☮
