Same. I'm 54 now and this was a guilty pleasure song of mine. Run to the hills was popular in our group and Somewhere in Time brought the rest of our neighborhood group together liking Maiden. But I feel like I was the first to appreciate them
Ahh flash back to High School - I remember listening to this on my Walkman that was stored inside my Jean Vest with patches all on the back. Ahh memories.
This was the very first heavy metal video that I ever saw. Music videos were just starting (very early 80s) and I was about 14 years old. I was into monsters and all the movies the showcased I had seen, I recognized Vincent Price's voice at the beginning. It blew me away! I became a metal fan at that point. Still am at 57!
These guys are clearly among the best live bands *ever*, but on this one I've gotta hand it to the bass guy - SO fast and driving! (And I learned it on Guitar Hero, too - hah 🎸) Great job, you guys! 🤘😎👍
That tour (1982) was the first time they used a stilt walker in an Eddie costume, making him look really tall. Before that it used to be a crew member in jeans and leather jacket just wearing an Eddie mask.
Somewhere in Time is your album. The first time I saw Eddie was from their first song, from their first album on their first video on MTV. This was the caption. Iron Maiden Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
I don't know if you remember reacting to Shawn James quite a while back, but he does a really cool cover of this song that is stripped down with a totally different vibe.
Pleasure to watch your reaction. Iron Maiden is one of the top metal bands ever. Also recommend you listen the songs "Hallowed be thy name" live 1982, and "Rime of the ancient mariner" live 2006. Up the irons!
Yeah the album was Virtual XI widely considered to be their worst album to be fair 😂 as far as the bass goes there's definitely a reason Arry is near the top of many peoples lists 🙂 the drumming was on point and Clive Burr (RIP Clive) was always really underrated as a drummer at least imho.
@Mat and Chels React yeah if you ask most Maiden fans it'll be either bottom of a ranking or next to lol. I didn't actually mind it but The Angel and the Gambler really does tend to drag on a bit 😂
Well, we all know the album you mentioned and it's definetly one of the worst. It's with another vocalist. Bruce left the band during that time and did some awesome solo albums.
Pretend? Oh metal gatekeeper of the universe, please forgive us for being born in the mid to late 80’s and not growing up with this style of music in our lives. Whatever will we do now that we are considered pretenders by you?! Don’t be an elitist. ELITISTS ARE LAME!
Bruce Dickinson is one of the best vocalists of all time.
I saw this video when i was 12 years old in 1982 , It completely blew my little mind & i have been a metalhead ever since !!!! (Im 53 now )

Interesting fact, the guy in the devil suit was Nicko McBrain. The Current Iron Maiden drummer!
That’s a cool fact! Thanks for sharing!

Wow thank you for telling me about this. That's great really!
Parents in the 80s : „Is this Satanism ?“ 😂😂😂

The late great Clive Burr on drums. RIP
Ahh flash back to High School - I remember listening to this on my Walkman that was stored inside my Jean Vest with patches all on the back. Ahh memories.

The number of the Beast album made it to Number One in the uk. A rare success for metal at he time and well deserved lads!
The fact that these two people are sitting still amazes me. How can you not move to Iron Maiden 😕
I wish I could scream like that guy
Do you mean Bruce Dickinson? AKA God😜
@@azzajames7661 indeed I do
Love your reacton to good music
This song always reminds me of a movie from the 1970’s called race with the devil
Excellent BAND
Bruce Dickinson is an airline pilot among other things. He's amazing!
If not already commented below, check out Iron Maiden ---> Rime of the Ancient Mariner, best live!
First Maiden album with Bruce as vocalist, I stole the cassette tape from my mom and used to listen to it on my giant boom box radio/tape player lol
Iron Maiden upstaged Sabboth in the 2005 Ozzfest and sharon osbourne cut the power to the set, several times. Ozzfest 2005, devore, CA.

Can you react to SABATON En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) with subtitles please :)
Really? You never heard this song?
How in the F can you pretend to be metalheads and not know Iron Maiden? Despicable!!!!!! Modern metal is lame.
Pretend? Oh metal gatekeeper of the universe, please forgive us for being born in the mid to late 80’s and not growing up with this style of music in our lives. Whatever will we do now that we are considered pretenders by you?! Don’t be an elitist. ELITISTS ARE LAME!
