Wow.... It just makes me wonder how many of the short beds out there are factory. Short beds are much more desirable and bring lots more money. Great way to make a cooler truck . It the total package. short bed, lowered , and LS conversion. Hats off...
Wow....am in South Africa and have Chev Custom 30. Been thinking of shortening it but this really makes it easy for me to kickstart the project. I watch your videos and you are doing an awesome job. Thanks. Your number one fan in the South of African continent 🤠🤠
Diggin the progress and the new attitude Dan. Lowered trucks are always da bomb! You keep building and I'll keep watching. Stay warm y'all. Cheers from Saskatchewan
Man you are doing a fantastic job! I don’t know anyone where I live that wouldn’t be proud to own that truck when you get done with it. Midland Texas here!
Great job as usual. For those of us who are novices would you consider a video being very detailed when you start the fuel system and trans hook up. So many out there do sort of a before and after. Thanks again for sharing.
Those lower tail gate brackets rot out all the time. They are available at any autoparts store for cheap. I think Dorman makes them. No point looking for used stuff really. Looking awesome. You rock. Happy trails.
A nicer way to lower coils is take the gas axe to the bottom of the coil and heat a section at a times and as it heats it will collapse in place in a really controlled way until you get your ride height
I did my '46 Chevrolet bed with 1x12 TREX board and 3/16 x 1-1/ 2" aluminum strips. Cost about $150. Looks great and will last almost forever. I don't know about that plywood, pretty short term. I'm watching this project with utmost interest. Getting the itch, as I'm really disappointed with the new Colorado I bought. Should have done a project like this instead, 1/3 of the money, daily driver.
Great job I love it.. I personally would have made the plywood cuts to make it go in the center instead of the off set and that way you could have used the one that was all cut out as a template for the other side.. But it's still ass kicking.. I would burn it then clear coat it.. And I love the way you actually explained the drop in the front coils.. The stance is dead on I think and looks sweet.. Another great job.. And as always.. Keep the wrenches a turnin and the tires on burnin.. Can't wait for the next video..
Dan, great work on this project. You're on FIRE. I'd be very interested in a RUclips summary like you did for the 57 to see how your Subscribers, viewer hrs and overall project profit came out. Rooting for you to get into a bigger shop!
Congrats my Man, awesome build , old school and new school combined is just killer. Will be installing a Real 1970 454 LS7, ¨bought it from Humber view Chev Toronto in 94 NOS crated and will have it blueprinted. In a 66 pontiac beaumont original SD 396 360 hp car, no rot 4speed 373 car. Will send you pics. Pedal to the fucking metal...Kudos...
You probably already thought of this but if you have 2 bed strips left you can put on on the joint of the plywood and one to match on the other side to make it look the same even though there is no joint to cover up
Good work u got going on there. You get a lot done in a short while! Missing my shop back in Manitoba where my project is languishing but I have to confess the weather here in Florida takes a little bite out of the sorrow lol Keep up the good work!
I know this is a bit premature but I hope your going to boat the under side of the plywood with some rope of protective coating! She's coming along well! I know you said you wanted to sell it but personally, I would want to keep it! It's good looking and I love the color!
You're a great guy and your woman too. But your live vid was a flop the audience didn't work. They were saying a lot of non since. I say this with a do respect. But something just wasn't connecting for you. Your videos are great. I just feel you deserved much more of a smarter class of audience. Keep up your good work. I'll always be herd to hang in with your knowledge and guidance. Thanks man.
Spots a couple chairs in the trash, stops the car. Then the ol' lady ask "what are you stopping for?" You then respond with "those are perfectly good chairs." You're that kinda guy, lol.
Heck yeah! Looking really good. Love the rake. You're gonna make me have to start working on my 70 shortbed Chevy. I've gotta convert it to disc brakes when I do the lowering. I was thinking of doing the 2" drop spindles. Anywho, great job brother!
I love watching your videos my favorite channel by far I like how you show how to do things to make a driver not a show car keep it up and the C10 is bitchin really digging it

Great update, coming along really well.
Thanks buddy!
A scissor lift would be a great addition to your shop. Gingerly and coil springs dont generally get along too well at times.
yeah a lift would be sweet. one of these days itll happen haha
Looking good. You need to buy some dropped spindles. The rear, install some lowering blocks or longer shackles.
It’s looking good Dan.
thanks john!
Can't wait to see the first cruise. looking forward to the fuel system and fire up!
Yeah should be a fun time!
Awesome as usual Dan! Can’t wait to see the next video.

Awesome! Great tip on spring cutting. Thanks for sharing your hard work Dan.

I love the smell of plywood in the morning!...It smells like Victory!
haha it sure does
Digging the plywood in the bottom of the bed quick easy and cheap lil stain and it'll look great cant wait to see it up and running
yeah i was thinking about burning it or somthing
@@DDSpeedShop yeah that would look good and not that hard to do
I like the high pitch. "SHOULD BEE GOOD!!!" That's great!!!

I prefer looooooooooooong beds. LOL!! (More utility...)
Cool stance. Low but not to low.
yeah i like it low but still driveable
U just amaze me wuth the work u do. When i do stuff like this im told its crude but effective. Keep it rollin brotha!!!
nothing wrong with crude and effective in my books

yup its getting the original tank in the cab with an electric pump
Comming along just fine it's hard not to get attached

looking real good. why not just heat the coil springs with the gas torch and let them squat or is cutting them better?
this is just the way i did it. torch works too
