For sure , even on wide hard pack I activate the dropper while stopping. Also hairpin switchbacks (descending) so I can post my foot hit the brakes and skid very fast and after the turn bring dropper back up. Takes coordination to become smooth and as well getting butt off the seat allows to skid better. I am on at least a few feet of snow and the trail on the outside edge is sometimes unpredictable. The "Snow Dog" doesn't do a great job on the tight switchbacks ,so the front brake can cause sliding and interfere with steering. We have ski hill and so the "Panoramic Trail" takes like 45 min and even longer to go up to the lake. Descending is awesome. Close to 30:00 of pure descending gets cold
Thanks for sharing! You hit it on getting the timing down. It took me a while to nail it down but once you do you can never go back…. RIDEFAT and have a nice Sunday. Thank you for stopping by. :)
This past winter (spring is today!), I purchased a Salsa Beargrease that had no dropper post. Fortunately it has the frame to allow for one. I bought a Crank Bros dropper and the kind dealer installed it as well as set the tires up tubeless for me, for free! I wouldn't want to ride without it as I bought the frame in a large size to do longer distances and I use the dropper to get on and stopping as well. I love to be able to stop and not have to get off the saddle to put my feet flat on the ground. Much more user friendly with the DP!
Thank you for sharing. It sounds like you have a great set up. I agree I couldn’t imagine not having it now. Just this weekend my friends and I were hitting a steep drop. Having the dropper made it feel like no big deal :) Again thanks for sharing. RIDEFAT and have great week.
I used it on my first fattie, use it right npw and will do so 4ever🤘. Summertime- o wheelies, proper height is what makes wheelies perfect. Dropper is critical then. On downhills I always lose the saddle away, gives more space to handle plus when you happen to fall, saddle stays under the bottom, not hurting your back. Plus adjusting height gives sometimes just easy chilling mode, saddle down😃. To me, no matter the weight, I always seem to prefer dropper to any other post. Useful item🫡
I think the dropper post is one of the best things I've ever added to my Fatty! Thanks for the video brother!!
I rode for months before I got the timing down for using it.... Then I was like "oh now I get it!
