Update: Seicane did not do enough to remedy the problems many of you were having with their customer service. As such I have removed their product link from the description. You can still use this video to install any other similar head unit like RSNAV.
i purchased it through the link on this video, but it almost seems like they sent me one designed for a different country? it looks like yours but dosent function the same,its missing some features and no way to download common apps? been going back and forth with siecane but cant get a strait answer...
if I can't get it working right in the next week or 2 I'm just gonna request to return it and go with the RSnav...seems like they have the system figured out alot better. hopefully its not a fight trying to return it for a refund...thank you for checking into the issues, really appreciate the help!!
After speaking with my rep, it seems that they are aware that a few units got shipped out that should not have been. It seems that they are trying to make things correct with customers, so hopefully they will do right by you. Please let me know what happens in your case.

@@xcristal69x check out the Audi C7 Owners channel for a link for the MMi update first then grab the 10 inch screen. The 12.3 might be too big. Also make sure you look for and compare the Android 10 and Android 11 versions, stability is key
Love how the manufacturer uses this and the other video is embedded on their site for this head unit. I have navigation plus and I love having the hidden screen function.
I bought a similar styled/priced 8in android unit off Aliexpress for my 18' A7 (to retain the folding effect). The things I noticed were: - Difficulty playing music, in android mode. When I did adjust the settings to get it to play, the quality was noticeably poorer. - When in android mode, the on-screen temperature shown when it's changed would show in celsius, with no way to change it... - Auto brightness not lowering enough at night, so manual adjustment had to be done. - Wifi stopped working within the first week. - Lastly no instructions... Hoping to see if yours turns out better in the coming weeks. Because it has the potential to be great. And the 10in does look better than I thought. Almost BMW-esque
Nice install. Looks tidy and the bigger screen is attractive. My A7 doesn’t have a reverse camera so that part would be redundant on mine. Easy to install though., from the looks of things. Always here worrying things about ‘bricking’ the MMI. Glad that’s not the case here. Thought I heard the end a Rammstein song to. Pantera fan too. No bad thing either. 🤘 🤙
Does anyone know more specifically what the centre speaker wire does? Mine was labelled horn? I was told by someone that when calls are placed the sound only comes through the centre speaker if connect it otherwise if leave it unconnected it's better... Any thoughts on this?
Looking at putting one of these in but when I go to purchase it has an extra list of items I need to add. How do I know if my car has an optic fibre amplifier? The option adds £77.75 to the price and don't want to spend that if I don't need it. Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure, but I wouldn't buy from seicane. If go with rsnav. People have had issues with seicane from units not being like the one I this video, as well as poor customer service

I wish I had this tutorial when I installed my RSnav a year ago it was a pain. I use wireless CarPlay and the only way that I can get sound to work is if I go to my Bluetooth and switch back to my cars Bluetooth instead of the CarPlay Bluetooth. Been doing this every single time I start my car for over a year. It’s annoying but I really don’t know how to fix it so that the audio plays thru CarPlay instead of just stock cars Bluetooth so I don’t have to switch it every single time
Do you know if your method of routing the OEM quadlock through the kickpanel near the steering would work on a D4 A/S8 by chance? If so, then you are a saint because that quadlock clearance issue is the only thing stopping me from installing a CP retrofit in my car.

Great video thanks! I’m considering one of these for my C7 RS6 and this will really help the install. I did have to fast forward where you had your head unit on your unprotected shifter 😮. I would throw a couple of beach towels over the work area first.
How have the antennas performed being tucked in the top there? I have seen others run them up the pillar and in to the roof. I’m about to tackle my own install.
my 2 cents: just get the 9 inch android oem replacement screen. it looks so much better than this one and the screen still feels like the oem and goes in the dash board when you turn off the car. i got that one and i love when some of my friends freeze for a second when they get in my car and they see me touch the screen and having a touch screen despite it looking exactly like the oem one. this 10.25in ones seem to have pretty much a pointless right side when you go in navigation and lots of other things. like i said that's my 2 cents
@@drpatrickmccabe I got it from ali express. Now reading my previous comment I realized I say "oem replacement" and it's not oem it's just 1:1 design replacement. It bolts in place of your oem screen and keeps all the features of it(open, close, oem menu and function of mmi)plus the bezel of the screen is way smaller than oem(and my 2 cents: get the one with the highest ram possible it will make a huge difference when it comes to speed through menus etc) and yes it is touch screen, has a 4G LTE module etc

What about AMI or AUX port. Did you have to connect that to get sound to work from the display for apps like RUclips etc? I had one that required the AMI or AUX to be connected for sound.
There is a wire connected to my AMI, and I have to have external audio source in the mmi audio settings selected to get the audio working. This will be covered on my review video
I was looking to get one of these for my RH Drive A6 but they only seem to have them for LH Drive. I have instead purchased a unit that will replace the screen that folds away. Hopefully have it by the end of the month. Different manufacturer.....
How do you fix the air bag off light on the dash. Also my knobs/buttons don’t work for some reason. Please let me know if you could point me out in a right direction. Thank you
This install shouldn't cause any airbag light at all. In regards to your buttons & knobs, those failing to work are typically from a bad connection somewhere. Check everything, especially the quad lock

Hi great vid. I installed similar unit to get CarPlay. This works great, however I seem to get an annoying echo when using this unit for phone calls. How is that for you? I mounted the mic in the overhead console next to the oem mic. Cheers & keep up good work
another question; there have been comments that this system "sounds worse" than the original. Can you confirm this? I'm not sure why that should be (no amps or anything have been replaced from what I can see) but could there be a pre-amp issue in the mix that is poorer in sound quality than the original? I'm not sure with this replacement how much is replaced in terms of sound reproduction components. Would be great if you could shed some light on this. I currently have the factory installed Bose system (which is indeed already bad) so I am scarred to death of making that _even_ worse. Many thanks in advance.
Great video! I purchased the 12.3 model and everything works. One thing you didn't show or mention is the final mount of the unit. I used the supplied fasteners to screw the unit on to the supplied bracket, but you can't install the new trim piece with the unit mounted. Their video shows you install the bracket, install the trim, then slide the unit into place, then install the final trim piece on the back of the unit. No fasteners holding the unit to the bracket. Is that how yours is mounted?

Could you do a video guide on how to set it up for the non-car play use, as in show what settings should be enabled to browse the internet, use RUclips and Netflix and inform of the best way to now receive calls as I'm told its better to receive calls on existing MMI bluetooth connection as doing it through the new screen set up seems to sound (to the other person) that you're under water. Is it better to connect via bluetooth and how to get the screen to connect automatically or is it best to connect via usb to create a wifi connection using your (for example) iPhone's hotspot function? The CarPlay side of it seems easy to understand. All videos show that side of it but don't show those who struggle with the tech side, what settings to enable to be able to use the new MMI touchscreen to its full potential. Should apps be downloaded from the google play store because (as you will know, but others may not) when you use the car play option, it doesn't transfer all apps from your phone to the screen due to the whole safety aspect of companies not (understandably) wanting people to be able to watch videos whilst driving, despite most people wanting to be able to do such things when parked up / stationary. I hope this finds you in good understanding as I just couldn't see any videos where this sort of thing is covered in these MMI upgrade videos. Kind regards
The old screen. What mmi version is that. Because it looks like the maps you get in the c8 a6. I got my maps update on my c7 but they still look very old.
Hey, i have a similar 12.3 screen in my 18 A6. (Carnaviplayer brand) Everything works flawlessly. EXCEPT for Android Auto Day/Night mode auto switching. No matter if i use Auto in maps, Auto in AA, phone controlled in developer settings (this still seems to be a bug that auto reverts to car contolled on its own) , phone dark mode sceduled sunset ro sunrise, the actual Android acreen dark mode set to sunset to sunrise, it is ALWAYS in day mode. I have to manually firce dark mode every time i drive at night. Im just wondeing if you have this issue or is it just my specific model version. I remember having a similar problem with an old RSNAV unit in my old B8.5.
Hey, I bought the same screen but the problem I’m having is with the camera and the original MMI system. I can’t get signal from the camera and seicaine told me to connect the camera out out but yours doesn’t look to need that. Can you help me with that?

Does the android head unit have the screen on when you turn the ignition off? I have a similar radio and mine turns off the screen, but the original radio continues to play until I open the driver's door. so if I want to change stations and see which stations, I have to start the ignition.
just got my unit in and trying to install it now...harness looks a little different and having a hard time getting the screen to mount on the plastic tray, do you know of any other instructions on these ? siecane site doesn't show much ? unit doesn't fit in the plastic tray to mount it and is in another language? anyway I can contact u directly?

The one that came with your car won't need a code. If you put one in from another audi you will likely have to go somewhere that has odis to have component protection removed.

after loading the update seicane emailed me twice happy to say unit it working alot better! still kinda buggy and some functions don't work but I have all the Google services and a way to update and add the apps I want, and now showing as android 11. I downloaded a photo translater app on my phone that helps ALOT sorting through the Chinese symbols on it!! I have the email with the update if anyone still fighting with theres needs me to fwd it to them
Really thinking of getting RsNav due to having a RMC mmi , would be used mostly on apple carplay to be honest , after your expierience with this head unit would you recommend it or just stay put , would love to get something but don’t want to be left with a glitchy/laggy stereo if you get me , thanks again the video is great man 😎
My Seicane unit has worked great. But, others have had issues with the units they got from Seicane. Seicane claims they resolved all the issues people have had, but it's kind of left a bad taste in their mouths from having to deal with it. But, mine has performed flawlessly.

Thank you for the video, it helped me with the screen uninstallation. I ordered the 12.3 inch 6gb ram 128gb rom snapdragon. Everything works except the digital speedometer, tachometer, does not show the temperature. I have to manually turn off the screen with a button, I'm afraid it doesn't turn off like the original one and it still works even when I close the car, when I return to the car I touch the screen and it turns on as if it was on all the time except the screen was only off. Do you have any idea what I have wired or set wrong? Mine is RMC.
HELP! I’m doing my 16 S6 no sound coming out; I do not have the MMI port in my center consuls or glovebox only USBs idk what to do I’ve been at it all day I’m losing my mind lol
Wiring harnesses seem to be installed appropriately, I’ve double checked just about all connections, the issue is it states for my MMI I need to plug in the AMI aux adapter and let it standstill, problem is I do not have that, usually always in glovebox or center console, but it is not I’ll take a look at your video, also I did not have that HVAC bypass yellow cable that you have in yours: was not in materials sent to me
On the website it asks you if you have aux or ami port. What did you choose? If you didn't have either of them, their order form clearly states the product won't work.
Mine was purchased via a forum member that stated he bought it for his S7, and I got it for a solid deal and decided to purchase, obviously as I’m finding out there is significant issues, which is audio and me not having that port. Do you know of if any a work around ? I emailed RSnav but I’m feeling pretty stupid at this point

That screen really does improve the look of the interior and makes it look much more aesthetically pleasing.

Since you have a C7.5, you should just get the oem update from Ben Weaving Ave activate carplay/AA with the oem unit.

Respectfully I disagree. The folding mmi is prone to failure in terms of the mechanics of its. I much prefer the stationary screen. But that's just me
Also, my right side shows the music I'm listening to when running navigation. I really love the way it is setup

@@AudiC7Owners Ah, so it's required to have an AMI to AUX cable from the center storage to get audio out from the unit?
Yes. You have to have something plugged into it to "fool" the Audi mmi basically.

I'm not sure with this replacement how much is replaced in terms of sound reproduction components. Would be great if you could shed some light on this. I currently have the factory installed Bose system (which is indeed already bad) so I am scarred to death of making that _even_ worse. Many thanks in advance.

Great video! I purchased the 12.3 model and everything works. One thing you didn't show or mention is the final mount of the unit. I used the supplied fasteners to screw the unit on to the supplied bracket, but you can't install the new trim piece with the unit mounted. Their video shows you install the bracket, install the trim, then slide the unit into place, then install the final trim piece on the back of the unit. No fasteners holding the unit to the bracket. Is that how yours is mounted?
That's not correct on the 10". Trim goes right in & clips securely

Could you do a video guide on how to set it up for the non-car play use, as in show what settings should be enabled to browse the internet, use RUclips and Netflix and inform of the best way to now receive calls as I'm told its better to receive calls on existing MMI bluetooth connection as doing it through the new screen set up seems to sound (to the other person) that you're under water. Is it better to connect via bluetooth and how to get the screen to connect automatically or is it best to connect via usb to create a wifi connection using your (for example) iPhone's hotspot function?
The CarPlay side of it seems easy to understand. All videos show that side of it but don't show those who struggle with the tech side, what settings to enable to be able to use the new MMI touchscreen to its full potential.
Should apps be downloaded from the google play store because (as you will know, but others may not) when you use the car play option, it doesn't transfer all apps from your phone to the screen due to the whole safety aspect of companies not (understandably) wanting people to be able to watch videos whilst driving, despite most people wanting to be able to do such things when parked up / stationary.
I hope this finds you in good understanding as I just couldn't see any videos where this sort of thing is covered in these MMI upgrade videos.

The old screen. What mmi version is that. Because it looks like the maps you get in the c8 a6. I got my maps update on my c7 but they still look very old.
The C7 won't have updated looks. Just updated roads & a like that.

Hey, i have a similar 12.3 screen in my 18 A6. (Carnaviplayer brand) Everything works flawlessly. EXCEPT for Android Auto Day/Night mode auto switching. No matter if i use Auto in maps, Auto in AA, phone controlled in developer settings (this still seems to be a bug that auto reverts to car contolled on its own) , phone dark mode sceduled sunset ro sunrise, the actual Android acreen dark mode set to sunset to sunrise, it is ALWAYS in day mode. I have to manually firce dark mode every time i drive at night.
Im just wondeing if you have this issue or is it just my specific model version. I remember having a similar problem with an old RSNAV unit in my old B8.5.
Hey, I bought the same screen but the problem I’m having is with the camera and the original MMI system. I can’t get signal from the camera and seicaine told me to connect the camera out out but yours doesn’t look to need that. Can you help me with that?

Does the android head unit have the screen on when you turn the ignition off? I have a similar radio and mine turns off the screen, but the original radio continues to play until I open the driver's door. so if I want to change stations and see which stations, I have to start the ignition.

The one that came with your car won't need a code.
If you put one in from another audi you will likely have to go somewhere that has odis to have component protection removed.

did you figure out how to adjust the speed on the gauges tab ? mine is off worse than yours and trying to contact seicane is no help at all
I didn't, but I also don't use that Gauge at all. I keep mine on WAZE 99% of the time.
But I will say, if the speed Gauge is off a lot, that is usually a sign that something on the wiring harness isn't fully connected

after loading the update seicane emailed me twice happy to say unit it working alot better! still kinda buggy and some functions don't work but I have all the Google services and a way to update and add the apps I want, and now showing as android 11. I downloaded a photo translater app on my phone that helps ALOT sorting through the Chinese symbols on it!! I have the email with the update if anyone still fighting with theres needs me to fwd it to them

My Seicane unit has worked great. But, others have had issues with the units they got from Seicane. Seicane claims they resolved all the issues people have had, but it's kind of left a bad taste in their mouths from having to deal with it. But, mine has performed flawlessly.

Thank you for the video, it helped me with the screen uninstallation. I ordered the 12.3 inch 6gb ram 128gb rom snapdragon. Everything works except the digital speedometer, tachometer, does not show the temperature. I have to manually turn off the screen with a button, I'm afraid it doesn't turn off like the original one and it still works even when I close the car, when I return to the car I touch the screen and it turns on as if it was on all the time except the screen was only off. Do you have any idea what I have wired or set wrong? Mine is RMC.

HELP! I’m doing my 16 S6 no sound coming out; I do not have the MMI port in my center consuls or glovebox only USBs idk what to do I’ve been at it all day I’m losing my mind lol
Did you watch our settings video to make sure all of that is set up correctly? Did you double check all of your wiring harness connections?
Wiring harnesses seem to be installed appropriately, I’ve double checked just about all connections, the issue is it states for my MMI I need to plug in the AMI aux adapter and let it standstill, problem is I do not have that, usually always in glovebox or center console, but it is not I’ll take a look at your video, also I did not have that HVAC bypass yellow cable that you have in yours: was not in materials sent to me
On the website it asks you if you have aux or ami port. What did you choose? If you didn't have either of them, their order form clearly states the product won't work.
Mine was purchased via a forum member that stated he bought it for his S7, and I got it for a solid deal and decided to purchase, obviously as I’m finding out there is significant issues, which is audio and me not having that port. Do you know of if any a work around ? I emailed RSnav but I’m feeling pretty stupid at this point
